As winter here, im now drinking tea twice a day, i live in the UK, whats is the best for desi chai.

Lipton.

Went to the UK once and everyone drank kettle tea. It was a travesty.

I get Teamonk and Onlyleaf. Love both, but not sure about their availability outside India.

Using teabags to make Desi tea is blasphemous. I have yet to have a cup where I could have a sip without having the reflex to regurgitate. Use danedar (granulated) tea (You can get Lipton, Tapal etc at a local desi shop), bringing it to a boil first and then cookng at a slow heat for a period of time according to how kadak (strong) you want it.

ur above method - you can tell the difference - back home, but in the UK, as our milk is poor - teabgas are fine.

Ok, So now how do you make ur cuppa,

i oil the kettle but not till its end - i use 35% water - put in 2 longh, good 2 pinches of cinnamon, 1 pinch of ginger, 1 star anise.- leave it along with a lid/plate ontop of pan- for 3mins, put teabags in for 4 mins - again still on medium heat-with lid/plate on pan. add 65% very warm milk - add sugar leave again for 3 mins - till it boils- squeeze tea bags -remove bags - before poring into a ceramic mug - make sure mug is warm with hot water from kettle.

enjoy

GeeBees masala chai is the closest instant premix to actual authentic pot brewed. Tried the Wagh Bakri a few times and the spices were too weak for my liking.
