Best ever ODI innings

Can you name the best ODI innings??
Viv Richards's highest score of 189. It came at a time when players couldn't even dream of scoring a 150 in ODI's, let alone at an SR of more than 100. That innings without a doubt is the best ever ODI innings.

Tendulkar centurion 2003 and this is not even close. The magnitude of the game, the quality of bowling attack, the strokeplay...best ODI innings of all time by some distance. W's never played a single cricket match after that phainta.

Viv 189 is over Maxwell 200.Max innings was impressive but scoring higher than 170 runs during 80s is rare.

My older brother told me after Pakistan's innings that he'll accept my claims of Sachin being the best ever after Bradman if he could do something in that match. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Not ranked in any order

Viv's 185
Ijaz 140 of 87
Saeed 194
Pointing, Gilly, Travis centuries in finals
De villers 100 of 31
Sachin's 200
Rohit 200 scores
Maxwell 200 vs afg( greatest 200 score ever)
Fakhar 123 of 74 against nz chasing 400
Every sa batter who contributed to chasing aus 438
Lara 2003
Inzi's 1992 semi final
Kohli's 50th odi century on his birthday

Honestly I can go on and on tbh.

Saleem Malik 72* vs India in Kolkatta 87. Better then any big hundred. Scored when asking rate was 10 an over. no fielding restrictions, no short boundaries, no white balls etc.. and he was batting with the tail.
This is still best ever ODI knock

Paul Collingwood's 120* at the MCG against Australia in the CB series final.
Chasing 253, England were reduced to 15/3 when Collingwood came out to bat.
Bowling attack was Lee, Mcgrath, Bracken, Watson and Hogg.

Aravinda in the 1996 final. What Head did in 2023, De Silva had done 27 years ago.
Kapil 175 would be up there as well.
Razzaq against South Africa has a shout.

If you are looking for the lesser mentioned ones, Scott Styris scored 141 against Lanka in the 2003 World Cup.
Jacob Oram's only odi ton was a stunner. 101 off 72 balls against Lee, Mcgrath, Johnson, Bracken.

Michael Bevan has a very rich catalogue. The 78 at Sydney against West Indies.
His final odi hundred was probably his best. Took australia home from 53/4 against a raging Shane Bond.
102 (95) chasing 248.

I'm sorry, but no ODI innings comes close to the 189* by Viv against England. None.

Sorry a mammoth unbeaten 189 out of 272, rescuing WI at 166/9, scoring 102 for the last wicket, against a potent English attack in the 1980s, is simply amazing and is heads and shoulder above any other innings every played.

After daylight, the next contenders would be Kapil's 175 in a knockout game in the 83 World Cup, and then the WC Final innings of Gilchrist, De Silva and Viv as well Gibbs' 175.

But really, Viv's 189 is in a class of its own.

I agree , but as a Batsman Viv was pinnacle of batsmanship , Kapil being a all rounder his innings deserves edge,
