Nothing matches the Kohli wicket. That was really THE moment. The adrenaline was running through my body as Shadab caught it and my God I don't think that feeling of virtually being Champions can be mirrored anytime soon.

After he was dropped by Azhar I was really disappointed and I thought he would make us pay for the mistake.However Amir got him on the very next ball.
Especially enjoyed Nasser Hussain's commentary during those two balls.

Amir dismissing Kohli was a special moment as we we were not able to dismiss him from 2 and a half years and it was made even more special because of the drop catch on the previous ball.

For Pakistan Perera dropping Sarfraz was a key moment too. If He had caught Captain than there were 95 % chances of Us losing that match and flying back to pak.

It was Perera dropping Sarf for me, but I have to say that Amir getting Kohli topped that for the best moment of the tournament.

Amir singlehandedly ripping through the Indian top order that was ruthlessly defeating teams left and right the entire tournament.

For me it was those couple of overs where Fakhar took their spinners on followed by Amir's spell followed by Sarfraz scoring the winning runs against Sri Lanka.

Hasan Ali to Parnell of his running catch vs South Africa - the turning point for Pakistan in the Champions Trophy, and the first time I felt the WT20 2009 vibes from this tournament.
Dismissing the best batsman in the world twice in the final was special, but I was very certain that India won't chase the total down, so it wasn't a game-changing moment for me. However, it did have the surprise element because I expect Kohli to continue his domination over Amir and to go down fighting.

Kohli wicket felt the best especially after the first drop. Massive relief lol. The pressure of a sucessful run chase by India was off when Amir got India's three best batsmen Dhawan, Kohli and Rohit before the 10th over was up.
Amir and Sarfraz's run chase was probably the most crucial, was our closest game by far, and had they not pulled it off we may have lost and knocked out of the tournament. Sarfraz already dropped once and we don't usually depend on Amir with the bat like that, he may have talent, but he's still a bowler. Amir looked especially settled, which was really comforting, think he would have made a fifty if the match had gone on, he looked really good out there.
Amir really was the clutch player of the tournament, a bit confused he wasn't in the ICC champions trophy XI. Stats didn't do his performance justice.

truly we went down to the absolute bottom of the pit before getting all the way back. everything else literally had a slight feel of destiny.
those saying parera drop was the key should remember that sarfaraz and fahim dropped crucial catches too. lanka might have been dismissed for 180 had sarfaraz taken that catch in the first place.

England were 120/2 scoring at around 5 rpo with settled Root and Morgan at the crease. With Stokes and Buttler due to come in next, the situation didn't augur well for the second half of the innings.
Although each and every bowler played his part, that 5-6 over spell where we got Root and Morgan out was the defining passage of play. These are the two batsmen around whom, England build their innings. Once these two were back, England were always on the back foot.
It was a clinical performance and unlike other games, we didn't have luck going our way in this game but we still managed to overpower the tournament favourites. This victory transcended the team into a different zone altogether. The confidence, self belief and sense of destiny was for all to see. The team exuded positivity and inspiration in the final and no matter which opposition we would have faced that day, the result would have been the same.

‘I thought maybe it’s my day’: Fakhar Zaman relives Pakistan’s Champions Trophy 2017 triumph
The Player of the Match from Pakistan’s iconic win against India in the 2017 final almost missed out on playing the summit clash.
On the eve of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 Final, Fakhar Zaman confided in the then Pakistan Men’s head coach Mickey Arthur that he wasn’t feeling a hundred percent ahead of the big day.
“I was not well the day before the game,” Fakhar shared. “I even talked to Mickey and said I won’t be able to play the game.”
However, Arthur eventually had his way and convinced the swashbuckling opener to play the final, even if it meant that he got out on the first ball.
“He said you go out there and get a duck first ball, it doesn’t matter,you have to play that game.
“I managed to play but I remember that I didn’t sleep well that night and he forced me to play. I’m pleased he did!”
The move bore fruits, as Fakhar played an inspiring knock for Pakistan.
Scoring 114 off 106 deliveries, Fakhar helped the Men in Green post a mammoth total that eventually helped them to a 180-run win.
However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Fakhar. The batter was, in fact, on his way back to the hut at the score of three when he was given a game-changing reprieve.
Having been caught off Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling early in the game, Fakhar was deemed not out after a front-foot no-ball check.
The 34-year-old recalled the miraculous lifeline and the emotions he underwent during the call.
“I had been talking to Shadab (Khan) and somebody got out on a no-ball when we were watching a game.
“I said ‘I’d love to get out to a no-ball’. I just said it randomly because whenever you get out, I always look to the umpire hoping they will say ‘wait while we check the no-ball’ and nothing happens and I end up back in the dressing room.
“The same thing happened in that game, I got out to a no-ball. Kumar Dharmasena was the third umpire and I was going out.
“From the boundary, he said ‘wait there’. I was halfway back and when I saw that, I was 100% sure it was a no-ball. After that, I thought maybe it’s my day.”
Following his match-winning ton at The Oval, Fakhar was deemed the Player of the Match. It was a knock that elevated his status back home, and sparked celebrations he hadn’t experienced before.
“It was special back in Pakistan,” he recalled. “I didn’t expect anything like that and I have never seen anything like that in my whole life.
“For many weeks, people from 500km or more away would come to take a picture. It was unbelievable and it was something special. The way we made people at that time, I wish I could do more things like that.”
