Isn't Farooq Engineer a Muslim? If yes, he should be there ahead of Azhar.

Or any random muslim batsman who has played Int'l cricket for India and is/was not a fixer. Yusuf Pathan or Faiz Fazal or whoever it maybe.

Parsi.

Which other Indian Muslim cricketer do you know of, who was accused of fixing?

What kind of a rubbish post is that? You make it sound like there are choices we need to wade through.

I would go with Saba Karim over Kirmani. Kirmani is remembered fondly as a member of 83 squad but he was a terrible bat and a middling keeper who had great days and terrible days.

Saba was a much better batsman and in fact at one point was our first choice keeper in LOIs.

Azharuddin was a joy to watch.

Wrists that seemed to be elastic.

One of my all time favourite batters.

Really? That's how you took my post?

I was clearly talking about Azharuddin, the match fixer and how he shouldn't be in any of these hypothetical XIs. Have no idea how you ended up deducing all that drivel.

Kirmani was one of the best keeper India ever had. There were great keepers in the world at that time and it was hard to pick the best one among Bari, Knot, Marsh , Murray and Kirmani. And he was a good batsman too. Saba Karim had very short career because he was not good enough.

There's nothing to read between the lines. It's clear what was intended. Even if it was not deliberate by you, it's so subconscious and ingrained in you, you can't even see it :moyo2

Kirmani was a decent keeper. Before my generation obviously but I have heard stories where he had Kamran Akmal level test matches that turned the games on its head for the opponents. His batting was adequate.

It may sound like I am hyping Saba who was not some legend himself but he was a very good loi bat for that era given our other options.

In fact if you followed Indian cricket in the 90’s he also won some games with the bat and was a safe keeper whose career got cut short due to an injury. He was always around the Indian team as a back up keeper to Mongia who was a gun keeper and a decent bat himself but Saba was a better LoI keeper and saw him eventually replace Mongia in that format.

My opinion on Kirmani was based on what I heard and my opinion on Saba Karim is based on what I saw, hence there might be the disconnect.

AH Kardar? He played for both India and Pak:kakmal Saba Karim was a decent keeper who played a few matches. Other then Azhar India has not produced any other great Muslim player. Pick an all time best Indian test team and only he will probably get in to it. Azhar himself was a great fan of our Zaheer Abbas:bobs
