Beware! Dead rubber performances in-coming

Now that the series is done and dusted, a few players that have been 'backed' to play in the World Cup will do so in dead rubbers and stake a claim from their supporters that goes like 'atleast they fought in these matches when the other players couldn't.'

Let there be an assurance that we will win one of these games, and some of these names WILL make it in the side ; a couple of notorious ones too that are famous for performing when the pressure is off them.

Some of them are getting the ticket with the performance in these two games. Malik is a sure shot but still he hasn't done anything of note.

Akmal is one of the few players whose played the way he always does, hes actuslly played with aggresion. Look at sohails and selfish go slow 100s if you want to point fingers.

Nothing is incoming. These are really talent-less players and are incapable of doing anything good against decent opposition. Expect Cummins to run through the top-order and maxi to get the few left hand stoppers in the middle overs.

I wouldn't be surprised if Umar scores a century in the remaining 2 meaningless rubbers.

On current ability, that would be equivalent to Kohli scoring a double hundred.

This whole series was meaningless compared to what comes next. Whichever players do well should be in with a shot to make the squad. Hopefully, those will be Akmal and Haris with the bat and Junaid and Imad with the ball.

I don’t think we can say that about Abid Ali and Mohammad Rizwan.

Mohammad rizwan is coming of the back of a hundred so it could be his new found confidence that’s allowing him to score like this.

It could also be becuase of the lack of pressure in a dead rubber but i feel like the added confidence from the 100 the other day is a better explanation.

agree with OP; Abid Ali did very good in his debut match but the fact is series was already over; Abid Ali should be given a chance to play when the series is on line.

Rizwan is a nothing batsman. Pakistan is just wasting their time playing him so above in their batting lineup.
