What's new

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the most gifted quick since Wasim Akram

Ridiculous. He's the best bowler ever.

I do actually like this thread.
It takes to its absurd extreme the logic that says Akram is a better bowler than McGrath.

In the Pakistani imaginary Swing = Talent, Pace = Excellence

Control = Boring

I don't think any Pakistani will disagree that McGrath the bowler (in tests and ODIs) is better than Wasim. Wasim was a better bowler just taking ODIs into account.

Looking at today's figures for BK, people will say he bowled crap and didn't take wicket.

But they won't look at how we bowled and the patta this pitch is. He has bowled a third of his overs in the death and still maintained a respectable figures.

He bowled to Agar, Handscomb, Head and Stoinis in death? What's so great about it? Where are the wickets? He is India's lead pacer this game. A lead pacer with zero wickets and not the first time either. Australia screwed up themselves actually and wrist spinners get full credit for it. They were the ones who turned a likely 350+ looking total. Not Bhuvaneshwar Kumar.

No one is saying is he was the orchestrator of the Aussie downfall or anything. But he bowled better than his figures suggest.

He always bowl better than his figures. But how does that help? Where are the wickets?

Helps others by keeping things tight. He is part of a very good 5 man attack. As long as others play their part as well, India will do well.

I don't think even we Indians rate him.

He is an economic bowler who could keep it tight. That's it.

So a lead pacer helps by keeping it tight. And then we wonder why world doesn't take our pacers seriously. Keeping it tight can at best look good on the 3rd seamer say like Pandya but not on a new ball bowler who opens the innings.

On different pitches, he has different roles. On spin pitches, me might not be played (3 spinner plus pandya plus bumrah). On flat pattas, he is expected to keep it tight. On wickets with help for fast bowlers is where he will pick up wickets. and he does exactly that

He is not even most talented in indian team.Umesh has got talent he has pace , can swing, seam and there is shami who has everything in his armoury too. Both of them are better than bhuvi

Yes but people still troll Waqar over it, and he says to have left a mark over him as a bowler.
Chetan Sharma's career probably ended with that Miandad six, does it make Sharma a great bowler?

You are using Chetan Sharma to defend Waqar? LOL I hope Waqar doesn't read this :)))

You'd be surprised then. For many Wasim's wizardry wins out over McGrath's relentlessness. Its not about results but eventfulness. It's what turned Wahab into a one spell wonder.
