In a nutshell, "There is all this East-West fusion music happening, but no cross-ethnic fusion. Pakistan has such rich musical traditions from its provinces. It would be amazing to create a fusion between them, such as mixing Punjabi folk with Balochi, Sindhi with Urdu, Pashto with Shina, and so on."

The man behind it is Hamza Jafri. For those of you too young to remember, he was lead singer of Coven, one of the better "underground" bands in the 90's, before he was replaced by a certain Ali Noor. He has been leading the reincarnation of the band (now called Co-VEN) these last few years, and he's had at least one appearance on Coke Studio too (the ukulele player on Jimmy Khan/Rahma Ali's song in Season 7). His Co-VEN bandmate Sikandar Mufti was a fixture on CS for many years.

Anyways, here's the first offering from Braadri Broadcast Orchestra. The visuals are nice, the song definitely has its moments, and there are few if any western influences:

They will feature Brushaski and Shina songs too, later on in the year, but I suspect the first few will be the main provincial languages.
