Just finished watching the first season, i admit it has some compelling characters and addictive plot which we all can relate to and things are kept so simple yet so sophisticated which makes the show intriguing but no where near the level of LOST, but will have to see the remaining seasons to see how the two compare although their respective genres completely separates them, was surprised at first that guy who was a legend in malcolm in the middle was playing the lead role but he is perfect for it.
Season 1 was not the best but it is still better than every single Lost season. The later had a nice premise and but it failed in both of its pretensions, as a psychological drama (because the character, although with nice intial stories, showed almost no believable progress, made unconstant decisions following what the plot needed and evolved through stair progress to, again, suit to plot) and as a thriller through the overuse of game changing cliffhangers that were not that game changing and ominiscient characters that were not that omniscient (included jacob and man in black), which is what made the thrill initially (holy sh*t moments like the station discovery, Ben, the moment where the numbers are not given to the computer,...).
I didn't mind the end since I liked the explanation but it is nowhere near as good as its fans make it out to be for the main reason that, same as many tv series, writers create the plot, initial characters and first season without pre-planning the end or the character progression, which lost writers tried to hide (and fooled many fans) but was ultimately jarring. This is a default you find in BB characters like Jesse and Marie but, as a whole, the writing of Walter White and its service by the directing (ie cinematography, visual symbolism and clues, music,...) is so infinitely superior to lost that it isn't even a contest.
My favourite show is Game of Thrones and I am not as attached with BB characters as I am with Got's but even I recognize that Breaking Bad is the best drama (not counting mainly funny shows thus) out there, and in the top tier of all time (sherlock, game of thrones, sopranos, the wire and the shield). Lost, on the other hand, in my opinion, is counted among second tier shows like the Walking Dead, Dexter, Prison Break, Spartacus,... And the gap between top and second tier is huge, the first one being closer to
long films that take advantage of the long format to develop characters and stories more than a movie, while the second one is more good writers that make a nice pilot/first season with a good premise, have maybe the end vaguely in head and then create seasons in between according to the success of the show with side-plots emerging if needed (ie the old model of tv shows before cable standards).
Breaking Bad is without a doubt the best TV show that i have ever seen.
fitting end to the show, i was so caught up in the finale i forgot about the actual story and was imagining walt cooking again in the final scene when hes walking around in the lab again, and when i see the police sirens in the background is when it hit, its over.... great choice of songs too, every detail was sorted with a fine tooth comb and results are evident.

edit- i also liked the fact that in the end it wasnt the cancer, or jesse, or hank or the neo nazis, it was heisenberg that killed walt, in spirit and in flesh. the symbolism of the final scene was very strong, and although the ending could have appeared cliche, the finesse with which it was handled made it an exceptional tv moment.
Jesse will probably end up in prison.
Is there an antidote for ricin? Considering that Walt told Lydia what he gave her. I don't want her to survive. >.>
Most people hated themselves for watching Lost after watching the ending. But the ending wasn't bad. It was better than Dexter's crappy ending. Woodcutter Dex)

The ending would have been better if Walt went into witness program and then Malcolm in the middle started.
Awesome ending. Easily one of the best, not too rushed, and very satisfying. I think Jesse making that box was a reference to something he mentioned in one of the earlier eps where he talks about making a wooden box in school and how it was the only time he felt he'd accomplished something in his life.
The fact that Lydia actually knows of her death is scary, it was cruel of Walt no doubt but at least it means that maybe she can make some preparations for what happens with her money when she's gone. I recall her having a daughter.
The one slight criticism I have though is that, the ending kind of lets Walt off a little lightly, I mean I didn't want him to suffer or anything but in the end he gets to tie up all his loose ends and also dies with a smile on his face, I guess after what he did, I don't think he deserved all that.
Brilliant ending, nonetheless.
The episode still didn`t resolve the issue with Huell. Did somebody tell him he can leave the sofa now
)
)
Forgot about that.
I'm sure that will be resolved when he is back in the spinoff being made around Saul.
So i have been hearing about this show for such a long time. I knew if i start watching this show i would get addicted to it..... So finally i decided to watch this show for the first time yesterday and i have been so hooked up to it, that i spent watching the first 2 seasons in two nights.....
I just ended up watching Season 2, i have to say that its a hell of a show.... Ironically, the series final was on 29....
You made a great choice! It only gets better.

Will there be a spin-off?
'Better Call Saul' will start next year, might watch the first few.. doubt it will be that great, apparently they're one hour episodes.
youre always late to everything lf.
Smartly, I avoided going to imdb boards, talking to friends about it, reading reviews, going to tvtropes so I had the intended reaction to all the twists especially a certain one involving Todd Alquist and Drew Sharp.![]()
I just finished this show after several months of times of friends recommending it to me. This show is the greatest I've seen. The thing that this show has going for it is it's emotionally drenching characters and deep story arcs that will have your brain on meltdown. The third last episode 'Ozymandias' is the best! The impact it had is unrivalled. It has certain scenes that just cut off the development of characters straight away and it makes you question how much further can the writers take them?
The last two episodes were kind of a letdown for me. They were still fantastic don't get me wrong. It just felt like a bit of a drop from 'Ozymandias' - given how stellar that episode was, I wouldn't blame the show for dropping in quality a bit.
Ozymandias is definitely the best episode, I also found the scene where he refused treatment when they were sitting in the circle really emotional. But the last 2 episodes were also epic, the penultimate episode could have ended on it's own as it was, the only episode where they played the full theme at the end.
But yeah the choice of music, scenes, emotional grip, and above all the acting of Bryan Cranston really defined it (he was so likeable in Malcom in the Middle). My favourite series ever and I don't think it could ever be surpassed, followed by Prison Break. I have Soprano's on Blu-Ray but haven't had time to watch it, but couple of my friends say it's just as good.
So, has anyone started watching "Better Call Saul"? If so, any feedback?
It doesn't air until Feb. 8.
