What a disgusting human being.

Man spits in baby’s face and tells mother: ‘White people shouldn’t breed’

Rezzas Abdulla has two previous convictions for race-hate attacks against white women

A man who spat in a baby’s face and shouted to its mother that “white people shouldn’t breed” has been spared jail after being convicted of racially aggravated assault.

Rezzas Abdulla, 33, spat in the face of a nine-month-old baby while she was in her pushchair last January.

Mother Rebecca Telford, 25, had been walking with her baby Layla-Jean in South Shields when Abdulla spat at her child and shouted “white people shouldn’t breed”.

If i was in charge, i would definitely jail him. I feel disgusted. Sick guy.

Besides "hate speech" laws, the United Kingdom also has hate crime laws. For England, Wales, and Scotland, the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 makes hateful behaviour towards a victim based on the victim’s membership (or presumed membership) in a racial group an "aggravating factor" for the purpose of sentencing in respect of specified crimes. A "racial group" is a group of persons defined by reference to race, colour, nationality (including citizenship) or ethnic or national origins. The specified crimes are assault, criminal damage, offences under the Public Order Act 1986, and offences under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.

The penalties for hate speech or behaviour includes fines, imprisonment, or both. So it is beyond me how the sickening individual in question has got away with this, that too when you factor in previous offences.

He got a suspended sentence along with some psychiatric treatment. To be fair you've got to be pretty disturbed mentally to spit at a baby.

True, but maybe he had a really good lawyer to spin it that way to get some sympathy for his alleged condition when he may just have been an absolute dreadful human being

It was the judge himself who told the court that the man's deteriorating mental condition had contributed to the offence. Take that how you will.

Whilst not trying to justify his cruel and racist behaviour for a minute it could be that he himself was a victim of racist abuse so feels it's okay to take it out on other white people. Racial abuse remains with the victim for a long time until they feel they've somehow avenged it. This is a majority white country, his comments suggest indeed he needs to see a shrink.

I read that the bloke has mental health issues. That would have mitigated in his favour with the judge.

Unless he had severe mental retardation (MR), and not just had 'mental health issues', then I'm afraid there are no mitigating factors. Otherwise every act of physical violence against another human being can always be put down to some level of 'mental health issues'.

to spit at a baby idc how mentally ill you are that is just despicable should have got a 6 month sentence.

I see where you're coming from but either this guy is so mentally ill that he just can't be held criminally culpable for his actions in which case he should face no punishment at all albeit he could be detained in a mental health facility for the good of him and others or he's fit to stand trial and should be given the same punishment anyone else would receive for a similar crime.

Spitting in someones face, let alone a babies, is disgusting and deserves fines etc but the judge is absolutely correct not to send him to gaol.
