[VIDEOS/PICTURES] Police officer stood down after ‘truly shocking’ video shows man kicked in face at Manchester Airport

Manchester airport video: Mayor Andy Burnham says incident during which police officer kicked man in head isn't 'clear cut'

The situation surrounding a video of a police officer kicking and stamping on a man's head is "fast-moving and complicated" and not "clear cut", Manchester's mayor has said.

Andy Burnham also called for calm from protesters who rallied in the city centre on Thursday.

The footage was filmed at Manchester Airport on Tuesday evening and appeared to show a man being kicked in the head and stamped on while he was lying on the ground.

It was later confirmed an officer had been suspended in relation to the incident.

The mayor's comments came amid a second day of protests over the recording.

Mr Burnham told the local BBC radio station he had seen full footage of the incident and that the situation was not "clear cut".

He added: "I would ask for calm because what I can assure people is that the right and proper steps have been taken in the right way.

"There are issues for both sides, but that said, it is right the officer has been suspended."

Man who was stamped on has cyst on brain, says solicitor

A man whose head was stamped on by a police officer has a cyst on his brain, his family’s lawyer has said.

The officer been suspended from duty after a video emerged appearing to show Mohammed Fahir, 19, being kicked in the head on the floor at Manchester Airport.

The events prompted an angry protest outside Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham’s office on Thursday night, when around 100 people chanted “No justice, no peace” as they demonstrated with Black Lives Matter banners.

One protester told the crowd: “The fight for justice will be won, and it will be won on the streets of Rochdale.”

Police said three officers had been assaulted at the airport, including a female PC who suffered a broken nose, and four men were arrested.

Watchdog the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is now investigating.

The MP for Mr Fahir’s family said they wanted justice to be done but have appealed for calm and said it was vital not to let extremists of any kind hijack events for their own ends.

Don't really watch murtaza because of his pro pmln slant, but he gives background info about what happened

@shaz619 @KingKhanWC how legit is Akhmed Yaqoob. I've seen him on social media and he almost became an MP too. Is he a legit lawyer or a bit of a grifter?

I will be honest and say he is a mixed bag, BUT, he is a voice for all the issues we face and we’ve not had that in some time, sure, I’d like the mic skills to be a tad better but that’s just the extremely rough upbringing and environment. He was there to help/support the brothers right away and is always active in this regard / get the media attention and is a big reason for demolishing the Tories and cutting into Labour’s margin of victory. As far as law is concerned, that’s all legit as far as I am aware but now that you’ve asked, once I talk to a few dodgy people I will confirm.

I remember him from social media where he would make tik toks about how he had clients caught with 20kg heroin and gun but got them off lol
His tagline was there is a defence for every offense.

The mic skills are ok but yeah I think he gets carried away sometimes. He was on a radio phone in yesterday calling the attack an attempted assassination lol.

Was just curious to see if he is really a man of his word as I only have seen him on social media most recently blaming Shabana Mahmood for everything lol

He started out defending people who were wrongly accused or had been subject to discrimination or were being exploited through the anti-terror laws after 05, while a lot of these lads were idiots, they didn’t necessarily commit serious offences. But on the back of this success he attracted a lot of the vermin in the inner city and has made a decent few quid from them, the tik toks are for show though it wouldn’t surprise me if they are true. I think the law degree is valid because he admits his grades were crap but he still managed to get into wolverhampton which I believe because anybody can get into that university due to the lenient requirements! so the LLPC or whatever it is called is all legit and he supplemented that with a short cause at the prestigious Uni of Brum, basically like doing an aero degree and then a specialist module at Cranfield which looks good on the resume, he allegedly worked for free or very little for a few years before getting a break and that too is believable because many solicitors get a foot in the door like that. Very opportunist in terms of reading the crowd / Apnah sentiment, we all hate Shabanah now after the lack of cease fire vote and here comes our saviour! 🤣 somebody had to step up!

With such notriety sure, the ego will be there and I’ve heard his Lambo has a special spot reserved in his local Masjid’s car park which all the oldies are not too happy about 🤣

People of European police. Your entire continent is in an imminent threat from immigrants. Don’t shy away from your duty and from what doing what needs to be done. But while you are it you must adhere to the protocol of ethical policemenship.

So 3 female police officers were assaulted by these Pakistani kids prior the kicking on the head incident, with one female officer allegedly suffered a broken nose ? Apparently that's what assistant chief constable Wasim Chaudhary has said..

Still can't justify what the officer did, kicking the kid on the head when he was down and then stomping him, that is disgusting..... Officer needs to be thrown in jail..

If these kids broke police noses bust up x3 officers why were they released & not on remand assaulting officers is a serious offence..charges dropped incoming…

Never heard of a muslim police in the western world till now..

It's an association. Hindus have them. Sikhs have them. Christians have them. In the UK there is even an association for Pagan Police.

Officer having the broken nose is visible in the video itself and the police statement also confirmed it.

Any civilian attacking police is a crime anywhere in the world and thats what I stated.

The police officer kicked the guy who was already down in an act of vengeance I guess and it is completely wrong. As, the way he kicked could have resulted in a serious injury too, it should be an assault and thats what I stated saying it would be ideal to charge both of them.

Where am I justifying things here? It seems like people are used to putting words in the mouth here.

I didn't see any broken noses in that video, I am assuming they were referring to something which happened off camera. While I'm not doubting there is a broken nose, it was only the police statement where I got that from.

I'm genuinely curious what do you think it means? Don't you have similar types of associations/groups where you work?
That's quite an interesting concept, police associations recognised by faiths.

I just googled and realised there is a muslim police association here in Victoria but no other religions.

I personally wouldn't want faith/religions be identified with law and order, but that's just me..

They aren't identified as Muslim police when out on patrol. It's a forum for people to get together and put forward any concerns that may effect them as a group to their employer.

For example the Sikh association and Muslim association may put forward concern about uniforms like Turban and Hijab. Or other groups may put forward around annual leaves where collective approach can help articulate issues to superiors.

Here is a list of some of the religious based ones in the UK

I am surprised that you have never encountered such a thing in the western world before.

Yes the difference is that the Jewish Ambulance Service is actually a service, as well as their police/security.
No other religion in the UK has their own services
What ?

So the ambulance & police only serves the Jewish community ?

That is insane...

They are a "Jewish Charity" but, and I've been told this by friends, that they are available for everyone within the location, no matter what your religion is. Of course not many people outside of the community are aware of this and so don't use this service.

It is the same in New York.

The New York Jewish area is crazy btw.

Good work by the British Pakistani community. It’s not the 70s, physically or politically.

If this cop goes to jail , im
Not sure he’ll be so tough there

There is no good solution incoming from this situation. No one is in the right here.
Tempers need to be calm and this incident ignored and forgotten for the sake of peace.
Images and video of the assault of "white female cops with broken nose" haven't been released to be public for a reason.
Keep escalating it as "Islamophobia", the right will weaponize it as a direct ammunition as "protect our women".

Justice should be served ASAP to stop such incidents!

Airport kick video family calls for end to protests

The family of a man who was kicked and stamped on during an arrest at Manchester Airport have asked for "no further protests", their local MP has said.

Rochdale MP Paul Waugh said they had asked "for calm" and for "due process" to be allowed to take place.

Footage of a confrontation at Terminal 2 sparked protests when it began to circulate on Wednesday.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) Chief Constable Stephen Watson said he regretted the upset the footage had caused.

Mr Waugh posted on X a statement headed "Rochdale Family plea to communities", which said: "The family of the Manchester Airport incident has issued an appeal for calm and healing, requesting that the people refrain from attending the planned Manchester Airport demonstration this weekend.

"We would also not like anyone to be inconvenienced as a result."

The statement added that the family "appreciated the support given" but "urged everyone to respect their wishes during this difficult time".

Mr Waugh said a meeting held in Rochdale on Friday had "made clear that this is a community that strongly believes in the rule of law, that the criminal justice system should follow the evidence wherever it leads, and that offenders should be punished appropriately".

He added: "Those present also rightly stressed that the law should be applied equally to everyone - and that no one, particularly the police, should be above the law."

The footage showed a firearms officer striking a man twice as he was prone on the floor.

A police officer is now facing a criminal investigation and has been suspended from duties.

Protesters in both Rochdale and Manchester have claimed officers had used disproportionate force.

GMP said three officers were assaulted while they were trying to arrest a man following "reports of an altercation between members of the public in Terminal 2".

They said the officers were "punched to the ground", including a female officer who suffered a broken nose.

All three needed hospital treatment, the force said.

"As the attending officers were firearms officers, there was a clear risk during this assault of their firearms being taken from them," a GMP representative said.

Four men, aged between 19 and 31, were arrested on suspicion of assault and affray and have since been bailed.

Speaking on Thursday, solicitor Akhmed Yakoob said Muhammad Fahir Amaaz was the man who had been kicked, and that his condition worsened a day after the attack.

He said a a scan revealed "a cyst on his brain".

Mr Yakoob said he was representing both Mr Amaaz and his brother Amaad, who was also involved in the incident.

He added their wider family, who are from Rochdale, included a serving GMP officer and had been left "traumatised".

In a statement on Friday, Chief Constable Stephen Watson said it was "a source of profound regret that this week’s incident at Manchester Airport has caused shock and upset in some of our communities".

He added that they were "constrained in publicly releasing further information or footage about the incident due to the conduct and criminal investigations".

However he said GMP would assist the Independent Office for Police Conduct watchdog, who are conducting a criminal investigation into the use of force during the incident.

Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham said he had seen "the full footage" and said it showed a "fast-moving and complicated situation in a challenging location – it’s not clear cut".

A witness, who was travelling through the terminal with his family, said he saw officers approach a man to arrest him and "pinned him up against a wall".

Amar Minhas, from Leeds, told the BBC that another man tried to intervene and a fight broke out, with the pinned man throwing punches until he was Tasered to the floor, when the officer kicked him.

Incident shouldn't be ignored and forgotten.

I agree that riots/disorderly conducts shouldn't happen but they shouldn't let it slide. The police officer should be jailed, the police department should be sued, and a strong message needs to be sent to all cops.

But what is the whole story? What happened before? Police abuse of power when your job is to protect people is wrong. Even in the USA police has a lot of power especially when the situation is escalated. My advice- atleast in the USA- stay calm and dont get aggressive and dont escalate.

If the female cops nose was broken thats serious. If that happens in the USA- they would have been shot . You just can't get aggressive or physical or even touch the police officers in the USA. That's grounds for shooting. But kicking a restrained person is just so wrong. Cops are trained and they have to control their ego and anger

One should really try to get the full picture before jumping the gun.

The public doesn't have the full picture, whoever shared it masterfully cropped it from the kick and stamp, as if he wasn't recording before it at all. and all the story updates are pointing to a too much happening which we can only speculate.

My guess so far, the family will settle this with the cops for medical treatment and no charges against the family while the cop will get a lengthy suspension maybe fired but he wont be suffering any criminal conviction.

This is not Gujarat. This is UK. I hope the accused police officer will be punished appropriately.

The police will have body cameras so they will be able to provide that footage to back up their version of the story presuming they are telling the truth and not trying to cover up their colleague who should be jailed for assault.

You hit the nail when you said 'my guess so far'....

If there is 'before' footage showing how it all started and the policewoman breaking her nose then why not show it immediately to prevent the demonstrations? Even if legally they can't show the footage, and I can't think of a single legal reason why they couldn't, then should they not release a statement explaining exactly what occurred?
To say an altercation occurred and a policewoman suffered a broken nose is not exactly unequivocal evidence is it?

They will get medical treatment any way lol

Because you are not the only group that can do demonstration, the nutters on right wing can weaponize a Muslim looking guys assaulting cops (including a female cop) and start their riots. If I were in charge, that's the prudent move to calm tempers and not let things get out of control by bad actors.

Further, why I feel the assault on cops actually happened is that none of the victims or their lawyer are saying anything to even counter that so far. They should immediately say that info bulletin by Manchester Police is a lie, isn't it? They have been pretty vocal about everything else and demanding justice. The statement is clear cut, its for the justice system to dish out justice not the public. And usually how the justice system works under common law, don't be surprised that the cops walks with just a disciplinary action and no criminal conviction.

Financial settlement for treatment was what I meant!
I don't think anyone would settle for that since most would be treated on the NHS anyway.

There used to be a cop who posted on PP but I don't think he posts anymore. Would have been interested to hear his perspective

Some more footage has been released...it's still bad but significantly less so.

The boys and lawyer should row the victim act back a bit.
Oh damn, saw that. One really should question and arrest the guy who posted the cropped out video here. His intention was clearly to incite communal violence. Perfect split crop of video to make it a one sided narrative.

I thought when the kids and the lawyers ran with the video it had more substance.

But damn these lads have invited riots and protests over this?

Far right has become even more angry.

What a sad thing to do.

Actually after watching it more I think the cop should be exonerated eventually and that we were made to look like mugs by these brothers.
Attacking cops In an airport of all places, they should be glad that they might avoid terrorism charges because the vicious kick and stamping he got.

I change my mind after the full video I saw .

Yes a bit heavy handed in the initial arrest but you don't attack the police.

These brothers attacked the police

He deserved the kick he hit 2 women police officers

Any other country this clown would have been shot , punjab police would have beat the living daylights out of them .

Both brothers need locking up and the mother should be ashamed of raising such thugs.

There were certain red flags from the start.
1. Video had too perfect a start for a one sided narrative.
2. The response by Manchester Police and the silence from the victim side on that
3. and really stumping was , why would the Cop brother of the victim feel threatened to go to his work??

Anyways, now the Far-Right will have a field day!

Well well the new video pretty much clear things. For those who haven't seen it it's on Manchester evening news YT. It's a shame that the officer was stood down from duty for standing for his colleague against a brutal assault. Who assaults cops in a airport. Unbelievable video. Shame this happens in a developed country and the offenders go Scot free and even are projected as victims.

2 and 3 are easily explained.

99% of time cops lie. In any country in the world when challenged they draw ranks and lie. UK cops in particular hide behind these types of lies and excuses by claiming that suspect was aggressive or a cop was assaulted. They then rain hell down on people and get away with it. It used to happen a lot especially with black kids here.
It wasn't a stretch to believe they lied here again.

And point 3 we all knew that was a lie to try and get more compensation money lol. Nobody took the lawyer seriously.

Who is that lawyer, lol. He even seems to have said the guy got brain cyst 😂

fair enough to just stand down the one cop, kicking anyone on the ground is wrong, but these guys deserve some of what they got, anyone with half a brain cell knows you dont attack cops, what do you expect? best for the protesters to just disperse with their tails between their legs. these two brothers have made a lot of people look like mugs. they deserve prison sentences too tbh.

Whatever happened it is still not okay to kick a helpless person on the floor ans stamp on his head. That policeman should be removed. He should have shown restraint at that moment.

At what instant did that idiot looks helpless when you see that full video? The cops were literally fighting for their own lives here.

Deserved a kicking and then some. Imagine if they tried this against security at Dubai airport?!

He is on the floor because he was tasered. The police man then kicked him and stamped on his head. Nothing makes that okay.

Well he shouldn't be throwing punches at security officers in the first place. A maniac like that, what guarantee is there that he won't be swinging again once the effects of the taser wears off?? He'd be shot by armed police in most other airports. Had he thrown punches at security officers at Karachi or Islamabad, a kick to the head would've been last of his worries. I've seen bouncers do far worse to drunk idiots on a Saturday night.

There might be even more to this whole incident. Anyways completly foolish of them to attack the security personell. The left punch he gave to the lady officer must have been when the nose was broken? They way they were throwing punches I wont be surprised they do some form of martial arts.

Having said that, it was still wrong to kick him and stamp him.

These brothers are not innocent

And the way they threw those punches they know how to fight so hence are thugs .
And to attack women police officers is just pure cowardice.

Yes there is alot of racism in the uk

But in most case British police are fair and they are lot better than other countries one can only imagine if this was another airport in another country it would be goodnight Vienna for the boys and their mother.

This is not Gujarat. This is UK. I hope the accused police officer will be punished appropriately.
I don't know sweep shot bro, what would Zakir Naik think of what the Pakistanis kids did here, beating up female cops?

Guaranteed if this was in the US those kids would have been flying back to Pakistan in body bags..
If this was US - they would have been long dead by now. The UK cops are much more restrained than US cops. In the US, you have your rights but you just cant even touch a cop forget about hitting him. These 2 guys beat up the female UK cops and the response they got was very very mild compared to what they would have gotten in the US

Right when I read the cop's nose was broken, it was clear these guys weren't as innocent as portrayed.

Why kick him when he's down?

A taser's effect is not as strong as people assume. It doesn't always disarm a person completely. Based on the assault, the police officer was likely in the mind of completely neutralizing him while his mind was in survival mode.

In many situations, they would have been shot well before it got to this stage.

The new video has brought the whole new dimension to this incident. Those guys have pushed officers but still when they are on the ground face down, that kick was pathetic.

It seems the guy lying on the floor broke a female officers nose with a punch.
The new video shows that he punched the female officer and lied down on the floor when he thought there was no way out of this.
He is lucky that he did not get shot and killed by the other officer. Even though the male officer kicked him in the face, overall the officers have shown great restraint.
One thing is for sure. They have no respect for the law enforcement.

So, feeling glad they were not in Gujrat or anywhere else in the world for the matter? irrespective of the religion, they would have been shot dead, be it Ahmedabad, Karachi , New York or Shanghai.

Its all happening in split seconds, the kind of assault these two carried out, the elder brother even punched his own mother in his rage. This younger guy pounced on the cop from behind, and both fell down as he was tasered. Within 2 seconds of it the cop is getting his bearing back and fighting for his survival and trying to protect people and kicked.

Think about it the total length of the two footages is less than 2 mins, these guys assaulted and brought down 3 armed cops, punched their own mothers and the cops brought things under control in a very forceful manner (I think its total 1 min 20 seconds) 80 Seconds in total.
and people are judging the actions of the cop when its clear how much the lives of several people was in danger.
Where they high or drunk??

It gets worse and worse.
1. They had altercation on flight.
2. They had violent altercation in a starbucks.
3. The Violent assault on cops in the videos we are watching.
:facepalm and one of the idiots is a cop .
