[VIDEOS/PICTURES] Police officer stood down after ‘truly shocking’ video shows man kicked in face at Manchester Airport

If this was US - they would have been long dead by now. The UK cops are much more restrained than US cops. In the US, you have your rights but you just cant even touch a cop forget about hitting him. These 2 guys beat up the female UK cops and the response they got was very very mild compared to what they would have gotten in the US
Are you holding the US to some standard the rest of world should follow?? Kill first ask questions later

I think that while we're entitled to demand a higher standard of behaviour from the police, we do have to recognise that they're human as well. The poor guy had just seen his colleagues beaten up - including women and reacted in the heat of the moment.

He's been vilified a fair bit. At the very least, his suspension, if already issued should be revoked and a gentle verbal warning to be more mindful in the future given.

It's not just a matter of the US; they certainly wouldn't have attempted this in a Pakistani airport or while transiting through Doha. Despite being ignorant imbeciles, they are fully aware that attacking security officers in those environments would lead to severe consequences, likely resulting in lengthy imprisonment at best. Instead, they chose to showcase their bravado at Manchester airport, recognizing the comparatively lenient policing and legal system here.

So, feeling glad they were not in Gujrat or anywhere else in the world for the matter? irrespective of the religion, they would have been shot dead, be it Ahmedabad, Karachi , New York or Shanghai.

The police officer should still be disciplined.

A police officer should not kick someone if he has been restrained/handcuffed. The person was not a threat.

Both the guy and the police should be penalized.

Yep...the cop should get a gentle verbal warning. The guy should get 6 months in jail.

Police needs to be fired minimum. A police in west shouldn't kick someone if he is not a threat.
As others have said, in the US, the cop would've got a promotion for displaying great restraint. In Canada, Australia I don't know - maybe a commendation? In developing countries like Pakistan, India, they would've also shot the guy making the video for good measure.

I appreciate the fact that most of Europe expects better from cops but you can't treat them this badly i.e. even after getting beaten up and seen your colleagues beaten up, do not react. Else you'll empty out the police force.

US cop would be in trouble too probably. Look what happened after George Floyd died. Riots happened in USA (shops were vandalized). The police officer eventually received a hefty prison sentence.

Police has every right to use force when the person is a threat. But, in this case, the guy was already handcuffed/restrained. The guy stopped being a threat and yet police kicked him on the head.

Another point is head should never be kicked. That is a sensitive body part.

Only a complete psychopath would kick there or support kicking there.

The police officer should be fired as he can't control his composure and is unfit for the job.

Did you see how many punches this guy landed on the back of the head of a cop? Any reasonable guy would be dizzy and would be fighting back for his survival here.

That's a very high expectation in the heat of the fight and just second after being badly hit but I guess it's a defensible viewpoint.

I personally and I think most people seeing the video would think a firing way too severe. Maybe a written warning and some mandated training and counseling at best.

The guy should be jailed for attacking security officers. No doubt.

But, he was already restrained/handcuffed. He was no longer a threat and yet police kicked him. That's where the issue is.

Police crossed a line here. Also, you don't kick someone on the head (there are other safer parts for kicks like legs or bum).

It was not a fight when the kick happened. Fight was over. The guy was already handcuffed.

Wouldn't be surprised if the male officer was trying to impress those female officers. The male officer was a simp probably.

Still unclear - why were they being arrested? If it's something really serious such as carrying weapons or worse still terrorism, then they would have announced that but they haven't. So clearly it was a less serious crime.

The boys did land some big blows and had to be restrained or tasered otherwise they weren't going to be stopped.

Nothing I've seen justifies the kick to the head still. That police offer lost total control over his emotions and they are trained not to lose it. So he deserves prison time.

The two boys deserve prison time too for landing several punches.

Someone needs to sort this mess out by releasing a full statement about the sequence of events so we can go on focusing on more serious stories.

No- I am just stating the facts. These 2 guys got away lightly. And vital thing to note this is at an airport. Even if it was other countries- the police response would have been much more lethal. They would have been shot in a lot of other countries as it's at an airport. If someone hits cops like that - outcome would have been a lot worse in a lot of countries.
Regarding US cops - yes some of them have an ego but a very crucial thing is they are not corrupt. The law is same for all- whether you are a homeless guy or a top politician. Bushs daughters were arrested for drunk driving. The mandatory bidycam requirements in a lot of cities in the US is making things even better.

True. I think the UK cops response was more restrained than a lot of other countries. Good luck doing that transiting in doha or dubai or at a Chinese airport. And those were brutal punches to the female cops.

Apples to oranges comparison. What the US cop did in the floyd case is no way comparable to what happened here.

Then why the parades from the coummunity claiming to be victimized. You just cant assault a police officer no matter where. The UK cops were more restrained here. I am surprised they were not shot - these are armed police at an airport. And punching 2 female officers - the kick to the face immobilized him or atleast took the guy's focus away from doing any other dangerous things

Not apple to orange comparison.

Police has the right to shoot if the accused is being threatening.

But, once the accused has been restrained/handcuffed, police shouldn't be violent.

Even in USA, cops can be in trouble and they were in trouble before. Derek Chauvin was jailed (the officer who killed George Floyd).

Location is UK. Not sure why you are bringing in Doha, Dubai, or China.

Always whataboutism.

Is he totally restrained? 2 female cops are injured and the officer is not yet sure. In the US if it was only 1 officer- he would just shoot in this situation. There would be a group of cops who make it absolutely certain he is restrained.

Justifying just because these are Muslim guys. Always playing the victim mentality. I'm saying the UK officers were more restrained and mich more reasonable.

Indians are siding with the cop because the accused has a Muslim background.

If it is was an Indian, I would've expected Indians to blame imperialism and racism. LOL.

Keep in mind, I am not saying the accused is not wrong. Accused should be punished. But, police officer should be fired also.

It gets worse and worse.
1. They had altercation on flight.
2. They had violent altercation in a starbucks.
3. The Violent assault on cops in the videos we are watching.
:facepalm and one of the idiots is a cop .
So they only stopped the attack because they got tasered.

You have to feel for the poor mother of the 2 thugs.

I wouldn't fire them given that they were responding to being attacked. Police officer should be reprimanded or at the most suspended.

Religion doesn't even come into the picture. This was a law and order incident. But say the cops were muslims and the 2 guys were hindu or jewish or Christian or whatever - i will still absolutely side with the cops.

The cop threw first punch , self defence is allowed but arguably overeacted esp as their mother was present .

The cops were like thugs in a public airport, you can’t have such people working for the public , who pay their wages .

People in authority often become arrogant & use their powers criminally, this incident will help train British police to behave like humans not animals

if your in an airport, your being searched, if you have a certain name or background you know that's par for the course. supposedly these lads had already had an altercation with someone before the filmed incident, but regardless, there is no reason to antagonise police or security staff in such a high-security environment. ive seen the video and to me it honestly looks like the brother who comes from behind throws the first punch around the 8s mark, regardless there behaviour was reprehensible and IMO apnas should disassociate from trying to defend them in any way.

the cop was wrong to kick him and stomp him, but let the legal system deal with it, this case is far from how it was portrayed to be when the initial clipped videos were shared, specifically to stir unrest, on both sides of the argument. apart from the kick to the head i dont think the cops did anything wrong, if you remove the threat of physical coercion from cops, you remove any immediate authority they may have.

Those lads were seeking publicity by posting clips on tik tok. People who live in glass houses should not throw stones. All parties should be punished here no one leaves with any credit.

Not sure we are watching the same video.. those guys deserved it and got away lightly. The cops were very restrained for what they went through. You cant punch a cop and get away with it..

The police force are servants of the public, we pay for their kids nappies, they don’t pay for your needs. Their job is to defuse the situation, calm things down to ensure the safety of all esp in busy public places. These cops used an aggressive attitude & used violent force initially, overstepping their rules. Sure the brothers reaction was a little far & also stupid considering their mother was present but the cops messed this up badly .

The media is owned for a their own agendas & of course uses this to divide or continue spreading hate .

The uk police are not respected as they were once . Over 800 in the met alone as suspected sexual predators, serious crime is rising while they chase weed smokers. Sadly British in general from all backgrounds are becoming backward & uncivilised. Police forces are also incompetent in even pursuing your call for help.

This isn’t Bombay or Texas , the police cannot use violence against the public , which was the cause of the escaltion .

Some will allow cops to abuse them , others will react or resist , you are entitled to stand there & take it but can’t assume others be like you

yeah the whole muslims brit paks are tougher and resist nonsense. the one who takes cheap shot from behind is the hero in your book.

this sense of entitlement is what spreading rightwing across europe.

would be fun to watch if you walk the talk if you are the guy at the airport

I think there's more to come out. Wouldn't be surprised if these feral low life yobs did create problems in public before the well publicised third incident when karma finally caught upto them.

You’re imagining Bollywood movie made by Yogi lol

I explained police conduct in such situations, it goes for anyone . Police are physically involved in altercations on a daily basis in England with all types of people .

Not sure if you live under the rock but France and England have just elected liberal/leftist governments.

Right wing influence was at peak a few years ago but it seems to be declining.

Police are physicially involved everywhere.

Like it are not, legally, violence is monopolized to LEO's by writ in every part of the world.

Instigating physical violence against LEO's will get the same response every where in the world.

IMO, those lads got of easy.

Kinda dumb if you ask me to get you skull broken to prove yourself tough

Instigating physical violence against LEO's will get the same response every where in the world.

This is not true. LOL. Police can't do as they please in first world countries. There are processes.

Maybe in Gujarat, police can do whatever. But, not all countries are same.

Look what happened to George Floyd's killer. He is now in jail.

Labour Party is a liberal party. This is common knowledge. Looks like you are too occupied with IPL; you are not checking what you are writing.

here we go again with ad hominem attacks.

George floyd did not attack the cops unprovoked and IMO the 4 cops got off easy.

Not sure any if any DA is going to charge the police based on the video of this incident.

BTW the rest of the world in bangladesh/pakistan either, where murderers get cushy diplomatic posts

that all may be true, but it does not excuse anyone from not complying with or resisting the police in a wide range of scenarios. i do not talk from some moralistic point of view, pragmatically you will gain nothing by engaging (although in this instance my opinion is that they provoked) in a physical altercation with cops.

i dont like to speak on other groups, but as a britpak, i do not want britpaks to be associated with the kind of behaviour these lads displayed, and i reckon that is the general consensus, which is why understandably, the general uproar after the initial videos has died down. deal with the head stomp cop and move on.

Doesn't matter where- the response would have been much more brutal as it was at an airport. If it happened in pak as well - response would have been fatal. These cops were very restrained and didn't deserve the bad press and false allegations. You dont attack a cop period - that's asking for the worst trouble. And that goes anywhere - atleast in democracies.

Surprising to see some posters defending the 2 brothers after the new clips surfaced. They clearly attacked cops who were trying to arrest them.
I will not be surprised if they are involved in some other anti social activities too and the News about it will come in the future.

Are you holding the US to some standard the rest of world should follow?? Kill first ask questions later
Cops in US arrest hundreds of people everyday. How many people are getting killed by cops? Just a handful each year.

Vast majority of times Cops in USA use deadly force only when the criminal is reaching for a weapon or resisting arrest and hitting the cops. There are a few rogue cops in US. Its good that some get caught and are prosecuted.

Must say that the police videos from Europe I've seen on internet, the police are too lenient on thugs. They let the protestors riot and burn down the cities. The police just stand by and do nothing about it.

I took the side of the brother when I saw the first clip. I knew there is more to the clip. But after seeing the new evidence of the incident, it is clear that the brother got away easily. A kick to the face is what he got for attacking and punching cops.

I can clearly see why you are taking the side of the brothers. I am sure it has nothing to do with his religion.

Thats why France is the state it is now. Cops make thousands of arrests in the US every year. But as you said - they will shoot if you reach out for a weapon or try to hit or assault them. Euro police are probably the most lenient in the world. In the US, when Trump incited the riots , all of the rioters were arrested and prosecuted. Mob violence and cop assaults by thugs are non negotiable.

It has nothing to do with religion! 2 astray guys who need sympathy and should be coached anger management. All of a sudden once the entire video comes out, the posts have come down in this thread saying its time to move in. If the cops and guys were reversed, this thread would have been 50+ pages by now.

Right and left wing and their policies/priorities are different across the world. Modi would be classified as a left of Lenin politician in USA. Incorrect to generalize right/left across the world.
If right wing popularity is declining, how would you classify current Trump popularity as.

The family have sacked the lawyer.

I think he helped make the situation go out of control. Any sensible lawyer after being aware of the full footage and facts would not have charged ahead at 100mph the way he did.

If he had been more conciliatory, subtly acknowledged his clients had misbehaved but still went hard on the police actions post restraint he could made the situation a lot better without detracting from his clients case.

In the end he turned it into a clown show.

Core policies for right and left are almost same worldwide.

Modi is a right-wing nutjob because he promotes extreme nationalism.

Regarding Trump, you are making it sound like Trump is winning by a landslide. That's not the case. It is 50-50 in USA.

Is the thread about Modi or India?

Coming back to the thread....

IMHO, action needs to be taken against the brothers and the coppers. What action or punishment to be meted for that in the UK we have the CPS and the judicial service.

Unlikely either group will serve any time, given the UK prisons are overflowing and have no space.

Family of kicked man concerned for hurt officers

The family of a man who was kicked in the head by police at Manchester Airport have said they are concerned for any injured officers after a second video emerged.

Footage shared online showed a Greater Manchester Police firearms officer striking a man twice as he lay on the ground at about 20:30 BST on Tuesday.

An additional recording sourced by the Manchester Evening News showed the lead-up in which a fight broke out between two men and officers.

A source representing the family involved said: "If anyone broke the law they should face due process."
During the melee, two police officers were punched to the ground before officers were able to restrain the suspects using Tasers.

Greater Manchester's Mayor Andy Burnham called for people to wait until they had the full context of the incident before judging those involved.

In response to Mr Burnham's comments, the family's representative said there was "no context justifying an assault when someone is on the ground".

The two men involved in the incident have been named as Muhammad Fahir Amaaz and Amaad Amaaz.

On Thursday, their then-solicitor Akhmed Yakoob said Mr Amaaz was kicked in the head by a police officer.
Mr Yakoob claimed a CT scan had found a cyst on his client's brain.

Mr Yakoob is no longer acting for the family, which has instructed a new lawyer.

The family's new representative said Mr Amaaz was "traumatised" and due to have further scans.

Their representative also said the family had "real concern for any police officer injured".

The footage of the incident sparked a protest outside Rochdale police station on Wednesday night and another in Manchester city centre on Thursday evening.

Greater Manchester Police said a police officer has been suspended in connection with the incident.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said a "robust investigation" into the circumstances surrounding the incident would take place.

Manchester Airport family's lawyer Akhmed Yakoob steps down making 'sabotage' claim

The solicitor of the family at the heart of the Manchester Airport police incident has announced that he is "stepping aside" and directing another lawyer to take over the case, in a fresh social media video.

Akhmed Yakoob, who was representing the people involved, has regularly spoken to the press since video footage first surfaced of a man being kicked in the head during an arrest at the airport last Tuesday. In the days that followed, protests took place across Manchester condemning what the demonstrators claim is police brutality.

By Saturday, new footage believed to be depicting the lead-up to the incident that sparked controversy and protests, allegedly showing the violent brawl that took place in the moments before the police officer appears to kick one of the men. The previously shared footage began with the officer kicking and stamping on a man's head as he lay on the ground.

Yakoob, a Birmingham-based solicitor with nearly 210,000 followers on TikTok, who was reportedly representing the family and has repeatedly spoken to the media on their behalf, has now announced he is "stepping aside" and has "recommended a lawyer" for the family involved, Manchester Evening News reports.

"The media have tried to sabotage me, it's not the first time they've done this," he said in the clip. "They've made this whole situation about me and not police misconduct. So, after consulting with the family, I have decided for now to step aside and I have recommended the family to a lawyer. But, I will be keeping a close eye on this. I'd like to say that I am not for violence, whether it's from police officers or whether it's from civilians. Always remember that."

New footage has emerged showing the chaotic scenes leading up to an arrest that took place in a car park at Terminal 2 on Tuesday, July 23. The video shows two men and several police officers involved in a violent altercation.

One officer can be seen attempting to restrain one of the men before punches appear to be thrown by both parties. One man, dressed in light blue, who had initially been detained, manages to break free and lands several punches on the female officers present. The footage then shows both women receiving blows to the head and face, with one being punched to the ground.

An officer is seen pointing a taser at one of the men before appearing to kick and stamp on his head as he lies on the ground. A Greater Manchester Police constable is now under criminal investigation for assault over the incident, according to a statement released by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) on Friday.

Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham has urged the public not to rush to judgement following the release of the new footage. He previously stated that he had viewed the "full footage" leading up to the incident. He described the situation as not being "clearcut", explaining that a "serious incident" had occurred prior to the situation escalating "very quickly".

Hahahaha.... :ROFLMAO:

I think the apnah 'Better call Saul' finally realized just how deep in the muck these yobs are and decided to step down faster than a cat at a dog show! He probably got caught up in the glitz of the media spotlight and the sweet siren song of a quick payday, only to discover his supposedly fellow brethren were less 'model citizens', Touche indeed!

I agree it’s not sensible but it’s the failure of the uk police force again .

Over 100 cops are assaulted here DAILY. 99 are assaulted by whites. It’s not a race issue for any minority

Yeah right. If the full video footage was not available- these guys would have gone ballistic. A bunch of liars and these are face saving measures.

The guy on the floor was already immobilised, that much is clear from the video which no one can argue. If you argue that he should have been kicked in the head anyway followed by a stomp to the head as revenge from the cop, then just say that.

Would we accept it if a British Pakistani stomped on a white guy's head on the floor after he was tasered and immobilised? That is the question to ask.

Surprising to see some posters defending the 2 brothers after the new clips surfaced. They clearly attacked cops who were trying to arrest them.
I will not be surprised if they are involved in some other anti social activities too and the News about it will come in the future.

The two brothers don't really look the type who should be defended, even after seeing the video of them with their lawyer I thought they looked like BritPak chavs. But regardless of their background, what the police officer did was inexcusable, and we still don't know what provoked the arrest in the first place. The boys were claiming their mother was harrassed and abused and that is why they got into an altercation with another passenger. All we can go on is what is in front of us as evidence, that puts the two Pakistani guys in the wrong and also the police officer who lost control and started acting like a football hooligan.

Anyone who attacks armed cops deserves to be put down. Those 2 brothers thought they were too macho to surrender.

While he was lying on the floor, there is no guarantee of him being immobilized. The kick to the head ensured that there is no fakery from the thug.

Its amazing there are protests in London in support of the thug brothers.

I don't expect an immigrant to understand, they come from countries where riots and bent cops are a dime a dozen. When you are part of a civilised nation then you understand that wearing a uniform carries the highest responsibility and you are held to higher standards. This is one of the reasons I would find it impossible to live in the subcontinent.

We Brits expect the police to use whatever force necessary, but once a person has been restrained, then kicking heads or stomping on them in vengeance is going beyond their remit.

If you are claiming that the man was not restrained after lying on the floor motionless with his hands behind his back, and that the policeman's kick was an effort to restrain him, then you are plain out lying.

May be the cop was making sure the thug was not acting and pull a surprise attack later.

This is like saying maybe he did it because he thought the man had fleas and he was hoping to dislodge them before putting the handcuffs on.

The man already attacked and broke the nose of a female cop. He is a violent criminal. There is no guarantee that he has indeed surrendered. A kick to the face will ensure that he will not be a threat anymore even if the thug wanted to.

As I said, my perspective is coming from a Brit, it is pointless debating with an immigrant or third worlder where police brutality and corruption is endemic. We Brits brought civilisation to the world, that is why you will see orderly queueing in our country and not free for alls. It's what makes our country first world and others third.

Even to the Islamic world?

it seems you have no understanding of combat or policing techniques or upholding the law . This isn’t India & those not born in the rest west shouldn’t be cheerleading such abuse . When suspect is flat on his face , you cuff him & there is no danger

Are you for real?

Once someone is handcuffed and face down, there is no danger. Kick is not justified (that too on the head).

Your irrational logic is linked to your sheer hatred because the guy is Muslim.

I think it must be this. If he had just said the cop was justified in kicking the immobilised guy in the head because he deserved it, it would have at least been an honest opinion, but he tried to justify it by pretending the guy was still a danger when he was plainly disarmed, and the cop's kick was clearly an impulse act of rage.

When you say Brits brought civilization to the world, it should include Islamic world too. The last I checked, we live in the same planet.

I can answer that in a separate thread if you like, I think if I do it here we will go off topic which I want to avoid.
