Can any team possibly produce more horrible results?

Yesterday, I played the first match of the cricket season (U-17) for my local club, Azaad CC (a team compromised of all Pakistanis) which plays in the Heavy Woollen District League (in Wakefield). We scored a mere 57 and the other team chased it down in 8 overs (with me scoring 19 runs). However, many of our players were happy because it was our second highest total. Usually, we score about 30 runs all out while the other team score around 100-120.

We never won a match last season and I never get a bowl and bat at number 10 (essentially playing as a specialist tail-ender) but yesterday I told our new captain that I wanted to move up the order and so I did to the #5 position. I came in when we were on about 3/1 (the one run being a bye, I think) with two of our batsmen scoring ducks and the other scoring a mighty diamond duck. In addition, I never get a bowl (even though I possess a dangerous doosra alongside some turning off-spinners) but in this match I did because we had a new captain (as our last one was too old to play). To top all of this off, we were playing with only 9 players (and so made a complete embarrassment of ourselves)!

However, I have better hopes of us doing well this season. That is if we play with a full side.

Can a local cricket team's woes get any worse?

Any people know teams worse than this?

Change the name to Namibia Cricket Club.

To be honest our A team is brilliant in the Central Yorkshire League whilst our second XI isn't too bad either. It's just the U-17 side which is extremely bad. Insh'allah we'll win the next game (with me taking 10-0 and scoring 620 runs).:yk

I m sure u guys ll do better than this, so don't worry too much...probably, it's a bit of lack of confidence factor..in cricket, just like in life, confidence is what drives the performance...

U shud think abt inviting bdesh team on their way back from Zimbabwe...few victories against them ll help..

be happy and satisfied at 57 all out?

See the connection between the two red lines. It proves that your batting team has Pakistani national team's batting genes.

We were happy (well, at least I was because I had made 19 and moved up the order) because it was the current team's second highest score.

Of course we have inherited Pakistan's batting genes; there were 5 ducks in all (out of 9 players) and many of our players are cross-batted players.

The last match we scored 110 runs whereas the opposition scored 163-2. The match today, we made around 50 runs I think and they won by 10 wickets....because I didn't bowl :).
