Steve smith has 12 odi centuries and 5 of these came against India, 3 of these cane against 2020 India which did include Bumrah.

Many of his best innings in odi also include a 164 against NZ and this is the very same NZ that made WC 2019 hell for every single team. People like to glorify babar's innings in 2019 but steve smith already played a much better innings against the same attack.

In terms of test cricket it isn't a debate. 2014-2020 Steve smith is top 5 best test cricketers of all time.

It's utter madness to assume Babar replaces him at 3 or 4 in aussie odi or test.

I didn't argue rohail > Riz. I never said that. I went into detail explaining the roles of keepers and why Pakistani keepers in test should bat at 7 or 8 or even 9 considering Sajid and Nouman are dominant atm.

This guy frustratingly asked for names and I told him anyone as long as they bat at said number which rizzu isn't willing to do.

Then I mentioned rohail.

He and Major are the 2 most dishonest people I've ever met in PP. Since even Major constantly mocks me for the 2015 cricket claim which I never made and I asked him for proof and he never provided it.

The argument was about tests, Anyone can play as long as they bat at 7/8/9. Pakistan doesn't have any good test keeper.

They only have a good odi and t20 keeper in usman kham who their not willing to play.

Only players Australia will want to take is sajid Khan and fakhar Zaman.

However they won't take fakhar now due to age. Back in 2017 when he was 2017 they'd have groomed him to replace Warner and fraser would slot at no 3 as fraser seems a bit more comfortable in said position. Fakhar would have had his flaws ironed out and he'd be more consistent. And sajid khan would be key in tests.

Nouman also misses out due to age.

Aussie cricket is a brand, Babar and rizwan don't make that brand as long as they stick to their current play style.
 
People need to realise that Aussie and English cricket is a brand. They select players based of who fits that brand.

Avg and strike rates bhar mei jai if you don't fit their certain atmosphere.

When Asif Ali scores in the first two games, a guy who hates my cricketing views bumped this thread to make fun of me.

I responded by absolutely VIOLATING with everything these haters stand for. Babar and Rizwan, plus the falsehood surrounding there cricket was barbecued by me and people who understand cricket properly.

It got so bad that there were requests, warnings for me and those who understand cricket were told to not bring Babar and Rizwan’s incompetency into the discussion, even though the whole basis of the thread is their incompetency in the first place


I suppose these Misbah worshippers of cricket will never accept their flaws, and continue to point fingers at others but themselves!

Thing is modern odi is a format where you need a mix of accumulators (With 5th gears) followed by strikers. Openers have to be strikers 100% to utilise the first 10 overs.

Pakistan just plays 7 accumulators that's all.

Agha is the only accumulator in the squad who can attack and play positive . As for irfan Khan, we'll see how he performs I'll withhold judgement.

But the rest are all accumulators. Saim isn't an accumulator but he's 100% low on confidence, it's very clear he's accumulating in test atm. He tries to play positively once he gets a 50 only and gets out. I think he'll try doing the same here. Accumulate to a 50 and then try to attack.

It's interesting that you keep making out this suggestion is somehow unique to you. The issue isn't wanting our players to be like Travis or Jos but who are these guys that we haven't seen in our domestic game. You can only pick from the available pool. So take our Babar and Riz and the accumulators and pick your alternative team. I don't have an issue with any player being dropped- players come and go but PK team will remain. So let's see these amazing players that you have seen but we haven't

^^ This is the lineup that I personally trust in aus, And if sharjeel doesn't work, Then I'd happily replace him for Saud Shakeel as he worked well as an opener in psl.

What's your side? I feel this squad is perfect to atleast give Australia a fight

Sharjeel Khan who i actually didn't mind years before. He's a finished cricketer who can't even perform at domestic level. Sajid Khan at 7? Sajid can't even get into Peshawar team in list A. Tayyab Tahir? He was getting beaten for pace by my mate who bowls no more than 130kph.

Usman Khan who i personally don't rate deserves a go.

The team you have suggested will struggle to post 150.

Fakhar Zaman is good he can handle the pace.

Sharjeel is a proper hack lacking agility and range of shots , will be found out as he has been over the last 12½ years.

Kamran Ghulam at 3 sums up the overconfidence you have though he is still acceptable.

Usman has dual characteristics he has a fisherman technique and another player in hack mode.

Tayyab Tahir a complete noob cannot waste my two lines on him.

Sajid Khan at 7 in Australia is like a suicide attempt.
 
It's 2024 lads, the Asif Ali "experiment" ended awhile a go. We can always remember the sixes against Afghanistan in 2021.

The team sent right now is terrible, and you're free to suggest your own 11 if you believe you have a better one.

Bro Kamran Ghulam is a top order batter? He batted at 3 in List A. He only bats at 4 in fc. It's his number. He's been the best list A and fc performer in domestics lol. It's madness to not try him.

Usman Khan has also been the best list A performer.

Please look at things based of current performance. You guys are way to negative towards any cricketer besides Babar, Rizwan and the current lot.

Experimentations are needed. Why do you think aus is selecting JFM and Mattew short. Everyone is calling them a hack atm yet their selected?

I'm fine with arafat minhas. Genuinely I am, but I'm sticking to my pick. I believe sajid will do well at no 7 for pakistan in all formats.

I stand by that claim. Everyone also called me delusional to suggesting sajid in the test team.
 
Sajad's tuka will not work every time, even likes of Shaheen, Hasan Ali and Naseem had there days, you need a proper all rounder to play at 7, someone who can play situational cricket not just yahoo. This is why likes of Asif Ali are such big failures in crunch matches.

You love to bring champions cup in everything even based of that Babar deserves a spot.

Sajid is a decent no 9 nothing higher then that.his stats are very average in list A.

Sharjeel is not a wicket keeper, so if Rizwan is replaced with Sharjeel who will keep wickets. Rizwan batting position should be changed in T20s as he has not done well enough as an opener.

Look at my team of the tournament, I put Babar in it, However after his test drop I don't wish to include it.

Sane qith sajid, I'm basing my decison of ove champions one day cup + test performance.

Neither is Abdullah, Shadab, Chacha, rizwan, or half the current squad. Only Babar is but he's lost all form so atm he isn't.

You need to understand that I don't believe in this separate format performance. It only applies to very specific cricketers like steve smith, Younis Khan, Sky who are obviously better in some formats, and garbage in others.

If Rizwan, Abdullah etc are struggling against crap bowlers, then they'll struggle in all formats regardless.

Babar was an exception in the Champions one day cup, but he wasn't the best no 3, Kamran Ghulam was and KG has been consistently outperforming him in List A and international cricket so far.

Similarly past statistics mean nothing, infact tbh stats in this day and age don't mean anything. Gone are the days where a 40 avg and 80 sr like Pointing meant you're an atg batsmen.

Unless you watch a player based of performance, you won't know how good they are reading stat sheets as even Imam has better stats then pointing lol in terms of avg and sr.

That's how I knew sajid would perform in tests and how Rizzu would fail. Espncricinfo stats have become irrelevant in this era and yes this includes tests due to the element of pitch curation which wasn't as prevelent in the 90's and early 2000's.

Sharjeel would be replacing Shafique in ODI’s because our T20 openers can’t open in ODI’s.

Rizwan isn’t needed for T20’s.

So was Chris Gayle, Pakistan has no fitness standards so that shouldn’t be an issue, Babar and Shafique are the ones who drop catches on a regular basis, Shan Masood is the fittest player right now but he’s probably the worst fielder in the team.

Good fitness doesn’t make you a good fielder. Umar Akmal is fat, but he’s probably still a better fielder than most players in our team.

Rizwan is a legside hack, anything in the offside and he’ll just try to dab it for a single.

Shafique is one of the most useless players I've ever seen.

The 2 mistakes I've made on PP is supporting Abdullah shafique and supporting Naseem Shah.

I was completely wrong about these 2.

Wasnt Sharjeel playing in the legends league a few weeks ago. And why does this amazing player not get picked for any franchises. Not even the BD league as far as I know.
 
Another thing to note is that current Pakistan is headed towards its death with rizzu at the helm now.

Pakistan will frequently be at 50 for 4 wickets with saim, Abdullah, Babar and rizwan playing in the top 4 lol

I was talking about him being a no 7 or heck no 8 for pakistan in atleast test and odi formats.

You don't need a batsmen at no 7. You need a slog machine and trust that your top 6 can do the job.

Australia does this with Carey. Yes if you can find a proper finisher like butler is for England in whiteball then sure.

Irfan Khan Niazi had the best 100 in champions one day cup and we'll see if he can become the finisher pakistan needs, but right now pak doesn't have a finisher so might as well give no 7 to an allrounder.

I have no issues with both of Tayyab Tahir and Usman getting a go but Tayyab is not cut for international cricket.

Neither is Abdullah, Shadab, Chacha, rizwan, or half the current squad. Only Babar is but he's lost all form so atm he isn't.

You need to understand that I don't believe in this separate format performance. It only applies to very specific cricketers like steve smith, Younis Khan, Sky who are obviously better in some formats, and garbage in others.

If Rizwan, Abdullah etc are struggling against crap bowlers, then they'll struggle in all formats regardless.

Babar was an exception in the Champions one day cup, but he wasn't the best no 3, Kamran Ghulam was and KG has been consistently outperforming him in List A and international cricket so far.

Similarly past statistics mean nothing, infact tbh stats in this day and age don't mean anything. Gone are the days where a 40 avg and 80 sr like Pointing meant you're an atg batsmen.

Unless you watch a player based of performance, you won't know how good they are reading stat sheets as even Imam has better stats then pointing lol in terms of avg and sr.

That's how I knew sajid would perform in tests and how Rizzu would fail. Espncricinfo stats have become irrelevant in this era and yes this includes tests due to the element of pitch curation which wasn't as prevelent in the 90's and early 2000's.

Abdullah needs to be dropped but he clearly has the ability for our awful standards. He needs to go back and work on his game.

Iftikhar has been given multiple chances but failed and I can bet if he wasn't given chances you would have been writing essays on how he's better than Babar and Rizwan.

Shadab has been poor for long time and has been dropped but there is little denying that he still a better option than most of our spinners.

How has Kamran Ghulam out performed Babar at international when he's only played 2 games?

I won't talk about rizwan since you are allergic to his name and we won't have a proper discussion due your obvious dislike of Rizwan.

He was a ferocious cutter and puller of the ball. Great reflexes and an ideal technique for Australia but he threw it away.

Still remember him and khalid carting England to all corners. As soon as he was beginning to establish himself he got involved in fixing.

Same happened to butt and Amir .They had just become top players in the side when they were caught

Pak cup 2023 57 avg 133 sr. And when have I lied? Next time you all need to prove it. I'm tired of these lies claims being thrown around because people are upset nonstop are anything that's Anti Misbah.

Isn’t that what you guys do though? Pick performances against Bangladesh to push Rizwan as captain, and overlook the overall defeats he has been a part of?
