They won’t have a bigger and better chance than this!

They seem to be too good for their ODI side, and all of SA’s main players will be unavailable for the Test series because they are going to the IPL

Will cricket SA re-evaluate the NOCs they have handed out to their Test/IPL players?

Test is a much tougher format.

BD should lose 0-2 on paper but you never know. They won a game in New Zealand not long ago.

They have a decent chance at Durban, but don't see them winning a series.

At most a test match but it will require something mighty.

Bangladesh is improving. They won a test in NZ where even India is struggling to win these days. They can surprise South Africa in their own den too. :inti

Most of the South African players are not available for this series (they are interested to play in IPL).

That's one advantage for Bangladesh.

Still, South Africa are favorites to win 2-0 on paper.

Nope , SA will prepare green pitch , and do not think Bangladesh batters can handle SA pace attack. I would be surprised if bangladesh does that.

No doubt it's our best chance to win a test on SA soil.

It's bizarre to see South Africa scheduling a Test series in late March- early April when they know that some of their best players will be leaving for the IPL. Especially now with the WTC, where every single game matters and with SAF in contention for the finals.

A bowling attack of Olivier, Sipamla , Mulder and Stuurman aren't gonna win them a test match even against Bangladesh.

At best Bangladesh can hope for one win if SA are missing the likes of Rabada, Nortje and Jansen due to the IPL. Don't expect Bangladesh to put up back-to-back strong performances.

The IPL will receive so much bad press if Bangladesh defeat SA b team on home soil for WTC points.

What pace?

Nortje, Rabada, Ngidi, Jensen are all playing IPL

Its utterly stupid that South Africa have arranged a test series in March considering they already knew their star players would be unavailable due to the IPL.

And after the drubbing they got in the ODI series, it would be foolish to underestimate Bangladesh. Especially with the test win they are coming off in New Zealand.

Even one loss to Bangladesh would be humiliating for South Africa, who have generally thrashed Asian sides in their backyard barring ofcourse the 2019 series loss to Sri Lanka, which still feels like an anomaly.

India, with arguably their strongest side in history couldn't win a series there. Pakistan hasn't even won a test match there since 2007. If Bangladesh manages to draw the series, it will be a new low for South Africa. No offence to Bangladesh but that is what it will be.

The two Tests are in Durban and Port Elizabeth where the bounce isn't as steep as Johannesburg, Centurion and Cape Town.

Traditionally it's the best venues for Asian teams. This is a huge opportunity for Bangladesh.

Hindsight is 20/20, you would expect to beat BD in tests at home (SENA conditions) if you're SENA team even without your star players.

I don't think anyone in SA cricket administration, management, board, etc expected a 2-1 series loss in the ODI series. Hell, I doubt anyone in the BD side even expected it.

With the confidence we have right now and a 2nd string pace attack, Bangladesh and South Africa will probably be on even terms going into the match. Meaning 1-1 would be a reasonable expectation.

Still, all results are possible.
