considering his success with the Pakistani team and also considering there is an opening in head coaching job in India, can BCCI lure Mickey Arthur by giving him a huge contract? Even though he is under contract, I'm sure BCCI can compensate the damages on his behlf should he decide to take on the Indian coaching job?At the end of the day, money talks!

Another question, is Mickey Arthur staying in Pakistan or is he living abroad when there is an assignment..

Arthur is free to do what he likes but I would be surprised if he would do that after putting so much emotional capital in Pakistan.

He does spend time in Pakistan when needed (as in practice/camps etc) but am sure, like others, spends whatever extra time he has with his family in Australia.

Lol God forbid. I really doubt India would want Arthur if I'm going to be realistic about what they're going to do, they're not that petty I think. They have recently opened themselves for coaching jobs so anyone can apply, I don't think Arthur would leave and he'd stay till 2019 WC.

Pakistani fans are now officially competing with BD fans for title of most delusional fans after a win !

Pakistan had a good run , brilliant outcome, future is looking up if they continue investing in youngsters and stay professional, and that is that, this doesn't mean Pakistan is now full of world beaters, have an out of this world coach, a no 1 ranked odi team, with no underlying weaknesses. Let's get some perspective people!

And No, bcci won't do this for a dozen other reasons.

Ha..ha... I agree, while I'm very happy at Pakistan winning the Champions Trophy, the fans are behaving as if they have becone invincibles overnight. Even at this moment Pakistan are not among the Top 5 ODI teams in the world, while I wish them all the very best for the future, atm the have plenty of work to do.

BCCI won't even think about luring Mickey.

I don't think bcci would do that. This is mickey Arthur's first success with pak and it is more credit to the young boys and captain Sarfraz who beefed up the positive energy after the demoralising defeat. If safe go first MISBAH was the captain I don't think fakhar or faheem would have got any game to be honest and with those old days where fitness wasn't considered that serious wahab would have stayed there or would have been replaced by Gul/Sami or sohail tanvir and not rumman raees. It is not just because of mickey they made a remarkable turn around to win the trophy.

If you can't put up with Chappell/Kumble, you stand no chance with Mickey.

Never !! the only coach that I'd be sourcing from India would be Dravid !! No one except him.......

What about Sehwag? :27:

Can transform Azhar Ali into a swash-buckling 110 SR batsman overnight.

I am hoping Multan PSL team can bring Dravid on the board. Even Ajay Jadega isn't too bad for coaching...

Dravid is all set to renew his contract with BCCI and leave his role of mentor of Delhi Daredevils in IPL, and seems like BCCI are going to compensate him for the loss of earnings. His new contract could be 6-7 crores per annum. Dont think PSL franchises would be willing to shell so much amount for a coach for 3 week period.

Mickey Arthur demands free hand and leap of faith, something that won't work in star studded culture of Team-India.

I scrolled through the thread of Bonus Prize for Squad and Coaching Squad. What is overlooked is the fact that he has a job with Karachi Kings that balances the financial thing to some extent.

This is what I wrote in Mickey Arthur "Early Eid" Thread

Reading through this interview, I wonder how is it possible that he was jobless when PCT (or say Karachi Kings) started it's search for a head coach. He is from that elite group for which their next job is booked well in advance.

Never was he supposed to be jobless.

They haven't played even a final at PSL, yet somewhere and somehow Karachi Kings has brought home a CT for Pakistan. Trust PCB, If not for Karachi Kings, MA wouldn't have been at PCT.

India job is too big for Mickey to handle

The board invites applicants and then makes a short-list of those who applied. And also why the heck would they do that? They are not that petty that they would take out a coach who is already in-job.

And even if that were to happen in a hypothetical situation Arthur would never work at India just like he didn't work at Australia. He is a hard task-master who consistently challenges players and his authority and presence is always there in the dressing room even if it's in a supporting capacity. Egotistical players like Clarke, Watson challenged his authority and Kohli would too.

Mickey would be a horrible fit with the current Indian team. There are too many egos there for a strong willed coach like him

Money talks. If the BCCI really wants him than they will simply buy him

I would like Robin Singh to be Indian Coach. He seems to be from Hathurusingha-ish sort of coaches, who gets the best out of the guys.

BCCI will never taste the cake from which pakistan had their share already..... and few days ago people were dpubting arthur and ask for local or other coach. Sack inzi hafiz malik azhar and so on. Now there are ton of thread about praising what a wonderful plan that was ...

I think Arthur is the last type of coach they will get considering what happened to Kumble.

It seems Virat wants a mentor not a task master

Mickey is too hot to handle for India. If India cannot go along with Chappell & Kumble then surely they cannot go along with Mickey.

Lol a guy who has coached SA, Aus and Pak can surely coach India.

but he has failed big time in Aus and his time in SA was so-so

He came to Pak primarily because he couldnt get other big gigs

Didn't he take SA to the top of the rankings?

India can try knock down his door for all I care, won't help. They are beyond repair after what we did to them. Need to get a psychiatrist first for the psychological damage we did to them, coach later.

not sure. but overall he was very succesful with test team and first team in 20 years to win a test series in Aus

however due to his icc tournament failures he isnt considered a raging success in SA. in any case that was a world class team he had at his disposal: Kallis, Steyn, Amla, AB, Morkel, Boucher, Duminy etc etc

If that's the perception then no South African coach can be considered a 'raging success' considering they've been choking in ICC tournaments since the dawn of time.

Anyway, I'm sure India need a different type of a coach compared to the likes of Arthur.

Considering the kind of statements Arthur made against Indian players in his book, I doubt BCCI would be considering to approach him, not to mention the controversies that surrounded him during his stint with SA and Aus.

Arthur is not a credible coach. He just got lucky with Pakistan. The credit goes solely to the Pakistan team. I don't think Mikey played any part on it.

Would be similar to a Football transfer if it happened:kohli2. Would be like Rooney looking for a new club after considerable success at Man Utd.

Not credible is a bit too strong a statement. I actually think Grant Flower and Azhar Mahmood should take the plaudits on this one but credit also has to go to the head coach. Beating 4 top ODI teams in a row is no joke and it requires a full team effort, backroom staff included
