Umer Gull came in and was a sensation in the first 2 T20 WCz.... He came and Gull-Dozed everyone in his way.... the likes of Dhoniz and Gaylez and all other basherz were falling down to him like anything

Can Rauf take that sowrd in the next WC ... looks like he is on track ...

would be hard for the brainless misbah to ignore him now

Raufz introduction in the LOI team should now be as clear as sunshine

Yaar please don’t already start making threads on him that Melbourne star thread is enough. I don’t want him to decline by us over hyping him let him make his t20 debut first atleast

Yes. But if he is used correctly. 1/2 overs with new ball. 2 at death.

I'd go with 1 with new ball

If no success with new ball, bring him next on in 8th over.

Remaining two at death with Amir/Amad Butt.

My four man t20 attack:

Shaheen, Amir, Haris & Amad Butt

Dont think we shld bring Shaheen into T20z ....
my 4 man attack would be Aamir, Harris, Hussnain, Ammad with Imad and Umer Khan/Shadab

Haris Rauf has less control with new ball as compared to old ball, he should be utilized same way Maxwell is utilizing him. And yes to the OP, he can be the surprised factor for many. Umar Gull started his spell from 12th over in 07 T20 WCup, which surprised many :riaz

Ammad? Seriously, do some folks just wake up one day and start throwing around names randomly?

You want teams to score 200 against us?

Amazing.

Amir, Rauf are the definite picks. There's also Shinwari potentially, as he can up his pace in the short format.

Shaheen and Naseem should ideally be reserved for Tests and ODIs only. They're our premier pacers and don't need to play tamasha fun cricket.

But at least one of them will still be picked.

Amir, Rauf, Shaheen, Shinwari, Hasnain.. many options to choose from.

We're developing some good pace bowling stocks.

Rauf will definitely provide some xfactor if he can maintain 150kph, along with good lines and length. Don't forget that international quality batsmen aren't troubled by 150kph pace!

have to bring in Ammad butt in the team given he is only good hitter available down the order ....

PSL 5 would be a big test for him . and if he can perform, given the gutter man picks him in the team and gives him oppertunity, then would be a great asset... Ammad has good control, decent pace with excellent slow deliveries so he shld be a good inclusion

Shanwari def deserves to be in there... missed him in my list before.... but Naseem and Shaheen should be kept miles away from T20

Ammad isn't really a big hitter against pacers. He's mostly a mid-wicket slogger like Anwar Ali, and will be clueless in Aus against world's top pacers.

He has no pace. Very average as a bowler and will go for plenty of runs.

Will keep him away.

what really makes me angry is that we should have tried him along with others in a home series, like against SL ... but the gutter man in his wisdom brought bak the TTFz in the team...

give them a chance to play at home, gain confidence and then see how they perform on difficult away tours

We didn't even know that Umar Gul will play that role in 2009 so it is impossible to say what Haris Rauf will do. I also feel that T20 cricket is a different game now 10 years later.

This shows your cricketing knowledge

Amad Butt has one of the best t20 strike rates of all time as a bowler.

T20 role is just for starters, has the skills for longer formats, needs opportunities in those too.

I called for Rauf before the 2019 WC and I am glad he is being picked up as a potential international addition. HOwever not everything should hinge on one player. If Pakistan pick their squad right, they can have a potential bowling unit in the squad of Shaheen, Hasnain, Amir, Rauf, Hasan/Shah, Shadab and Gohar/Khan/Nawaz. 7 bowlers, a couple of whom can bat lower down the order too. That's a terrific possible squad when coupled with promising batsmen and Babar.

That unit had Afridi, Ajmal, Amir. It helps your perform better when you are surrounded by good bowlers.
