Can Pakistan defend 338 against India and win the Champions Trophy final?

Yes they can but I would have felt alot better with Rumman Raees as 4th seamer.
 
They'll never get a batter chance than today. Destiny is in Pakistan's hand.
 
The biggest mistake I think Pakistan made is playing 2-3 spinners I would would have added Rumman Raees over Shadab against India... Indian spinners look so easy on this pitch.. and Indian batsmen will play better Pak spinner... Rumman Raees could be a great option today as fourth fast bowler
 
Nope. We are about 10-20 runs and are a seamer short.

I think India will win
 
Kumar bowled well to restrict 338, otherwise was pak was looking to 360. India to win here, Pak 20 runs short

already said that, a big blunder pakistan made is dropping rumman raees, easily the best death bowler of pakistan

amir will as usual get 'injured'

very bad to play three spinners

pakistan has no other option but to play spinners for twenty overs

there is no wory about shadab
junid too have a good ball some time he s not bowilig well
 
I hope those who wanted Imad and Shadab to play are ready because India will destroy them

I so so wish we had Rumman
 
Great knock by fakhar!

Azahr and Babar both played their part decently.

Hafeez played unexpectedly well.

A bit disappointed with that we couldn't get the maximum out of the last three overs. Since you can't take anything for granted against India.

Indians is are strong chasers.

Still I am fine with the target set by us.

Tight fielding and good bowling should see us home. For nur to win both bowling and fielding his to come good. Indians were a bit sloppy at times in their field but still hold on to the catches.

Fielding is critical nowadays so It's not up to the bowlers only.
 
If India chase they will deserve it but I think Pakistan will just about have enough.

Sadly yeah, Kohli's body language doesn't look great and he is the one we rely on for our chases.
 
If Aamer strikes first over and Junaid first ball to KOHLI... what a match
 
It's going to be very difficult. You need to get Kohli our early otherwise no hope.

India should cruise towards the total. A score of 350+ would have made it very interesting!
 
Contrary to popular belief, i think this will be a straight forward win for Pakistan. India will fall short by around 70 runs.

Yes seems like Kohli didn't expect Pakistan to make such a huge total and he seemed tense and under pressure.. I hope he comes out guns blazing need Dhawan and Rohit to give a good start as they have been giving
 
If Pakistan ever had the chance to win this match it is now. No matter how good a team India is chasing 338 in final will need good performance from them it is no walk in the park.

I think finally game is 50/50 but as a Pakistan fan I think and want Pakistan to win.
 
This was a bat first 350 pitch. India might have made 375.

But chasing will be harder due to the scoreboard pressure and if Pak gets some reverse going Pak will win.

Dont count out India though, remember what happened in the Asia Cup?
 
We should have scored more but it's absolutely a defendable score. We need to go in there with right mindset. The only way we can win this is by getting them all out, trying to contain them will not help. Also our fielding needs to save every run we can and hold on to the catches. Hopefully Amir and Junaid will run through them.
 
This is just a decent score. Nothing else. I think because our batting rarely makes such a total it is getting overhyped

90:10 in favor of Pakistan here. I don't see India chasing 340 in finals. Any team will have a very hard time even if it's the Indian team.

pak should have played rumma raees, a very big blunder playing 2 spinners
 
If we get Kohli for a low score we'll win the game, we basically then knocked over the spine of the Indian batting skeleton.

Unlikely for India to win let alone finish it in 43 over.
 
Whatever happens, so proud of this team and how they have performed the last 4 games! Even if India chase this down, we have fought hard and that's where we have fallen apart so often. Amazing comeback, and proud of what we have done. A win here will be icing on the cake, but no matter what happens, whole nation is proud of this performance!

Thats what Pak should have gotten. Better sides would have gotten more.

But 350 is the new 300 when it comes to psychological factor.

Yes I agree Rumman should have stayed in.

An India win means our same Pakistani dominant bowlers in the last 3 games couldn't defend 339 and you're OK with that??

Come on man, I understand it's a flat wicket but at least have a limit.

I am not bothered about how good India is I am just aware of how mentally weak Pakistan is.
 
Pakistan with the advantage here. But still important that Sarfaraz captains aggressively and tries to knock out their top three as early as possible. If he adopts his usual timid approach and lets India get off to a good start without losing wickets in the first 10 then it might get difficult for Pakistan. Ideally, need to get them 3 down for 100. Also extremely important that we field well and take our chances.

One or two early wickets, and Indian required run rate will start shooting up.
Conversely, if India get a blistering start, then game on, Pakistan bowlers under pressure and they could fall apart.

The first 10 overs will be critical and will decide the fate of the match. .
 
Game will be over and out of reach of India before over #30. These are just too many runs, and Pakistan bowlers have been doing great. Even if our bowlers are at 60-70% of their last few games' efficiency level, it'll still be an easy game for Pakistan. Batsmen were superb. Hats off to them.
 
If you can't defend this then it's time to tip your cap.

330+ in a final is incredible.
 
Mark my words, either we chase it in a canter or it's a classic.

Obviously Pak has a good chance now, but we have every chance and the best batsmen in the world.

It may be true, but 340 runs in finals is too much for any team even if opposition is not playing their best.

With 340 runs, even with 100/0 you can still come back.

Yes, if India can chase 339 in a final then that means they will have played awesome and will deserve it. As long as we bowl hard, field hard, I am happy regardless of the result. Obviously will be much happier if we win but proud nonetheless!
