Can Pakistan ever play India on a field of cricket after the aggressive tone from some of the former India cricketers?

Cricket has always been more than just a game between India and Pakistan—it’s a high-stakes rivalry filled with passion, pride, and intense emotions. But with recent aggressive statements from players like Shikhar Dhawan, calling Pakistan a ‘ghatiya desh,’ the divide seems deeper than ever. Can these two nations still set aside political tensions and take the field together, or has the hostility reached a point of no return?

Talking without proof.. As usual

Gautam Gambhir speaking, when asked for his view on India-Pakistan cricket:

"My personal answer to this is absolutely no."

"Till all this doesn't stop, there should not be anything between India and Pakistan."

"Ultimately, this is (the) government's decision whether we play them or not.”

"This is not up to me, it's not in my jurisdiction. This is for BCCI and, more importantly, the government to decide whether we should play them or not.”

"Whatever decision they make, we should be absolutely fine with it and not politicise it."

PLEASE SEE THE TOPIC AND THEN POST... STOP BRINGING POLITICAL STUFF HERE...

Ever since Pak has started losing to them on the field their cricketers have been mocking not just our cricket but the country as a whole. Cricketers before were very measured on their hate against Pak because the on field results weren't in their favor, now they just go full throttle anti-pak.

Meanwhile our cricketers are docile & submissive not just on the field but outside of it too, I can never forget Harris Rauf saying something on the lines of "Kohli jaisay baray player say hi do chakkay khaye hain, konsi bari baat hai". Just shows the defeatist mindset as an active player, maybe post retirement you can say something like this but not when you are an active player and will possibly play again.

Indians are hurting. After a few days they will cool down. My request is for them to realise that for over a decade they have had their minds polluted by extremism. Throw off the shackles , gently request Modi to retire like Rohit, and embrace us, we will accept your apology and move on to create a new future.

i dont see how modi can survive this embarrassment, the bjp is weakening anyway, a return to politics of non-hate will calm the situation in a few years. i actually envision a test series in 2031, with ali raza bowling to the first ball to a still only 15 year old suryavanshi.... i will buy a ticket for the game and will update this thread with a picture to prove my point :apology

Pak should never say no to play against India at any stage. Let them decide if they want to play with us or not. If both teams go in knockouts then the hypocrisy of so called patriotic indians will be visible

So this is "sane" in your opinion ... when a Cricketer is talking about what happens to Hindus if India is wiped out ?
Reply to him brother... GO on...

If you think what Shikar and Sehwag said is sane in comparison to what Rana g said, then You gotta learn the definition of SANE.

Naaah I am asking YOU based on YOUR comment above because I know Rana is not really a smart dude. So you think what he said was "sane" when he said that there is no Hindu country if India was destroyed ?

He also mentioned same thing about Pakistan that you ignored to suit your agenda.... Move on, Brother.

Explain shikhar and sehwag first.

I dont think Dhawan and Sehwag said anything about destroying Pakistan ... (atleast not in the images with translations that you posted.)

Where faheem said that he will destroy India or said that Pakistan should?

Read the whole thing and you will get the context... That is not a threat... Rana g is saying what he think would happen if India or Pakistan get wiped out..

I did read the whole thing.... the point is not even the Jat hot heads like Dhawan and Sehwag say something so shocking as "If Pakistan was wiped out...."

I recall once in 2006 I had an Indian friend laugh and mock me when an earthquake happened in Kashmir. Seventeen years later when floods happened in Sindh he sent another mocking message laughing at the loss of lives. I now see a similar sense of hate in cricketers and celebrities on the other side. Lost quite a bit of respect. Despite all our flows quite proud that I have not encountered such sentiments here.

Surprised to see that you have kept him as a friend for all these years…

Ofcourse we can play. Sehwag said 'Pakistan Zindabhaag' after 2023 WC. However that didnt stop Pakistan to play India again. At the same token Afridi taken multiple digs on India and our beloved leader Modi....but cricket engagement never stopped.

India's issue is not with common Pak people or its cricketers. We just dont want terrorists based there killing our people with impunity. According to Imran Khan himself, there are more than 50 terrorist outfits active in Pakistan. India's issue is Pak govt not acting on them knowing that they exist in their soil.

Did you not tell that friend to shut up? How can that be a friend?

Yes india's issue is not with common Pak people which is why Dhawan called Pakistan a ghatiya country. If you want to hate, then be open with the hatred and not be apologists for those openly hating. Everyone knows what the likes of Dhawan and Sehwag meant.

Hopefully our rubbish cricketers can learn a lesson from our armed forces and play with more pride the next time we are up against them . Apart from CT final in 2017 I have never seen Pakistan team with a strong body language whenever they faced in recent times

sorry did not add details. Actually, we used to play on the same cricket team in Bahrain. These were two interactions 17 years apart so I use the term friend loosely. Was sad to see that in 17 years no real growth had happened. Of course, I said more than just shut up but would be appropriate to mention here.

Pakistani government and armed forces need to issue instructions and a message to all the players, anyone kissing the oppositions behind and asking for autographs after the game will not be selected for Pakistan again.

In contrast, see the tweets of appreciation for Virat Kohli by their Pakistan counterparts

Class tells.
Virat Kohli is an honorary Pakistani though. Not discrediting Pakistanis who appreciate him. In today's India, I can't see that happening as openly as before say when Wasim Akram and Imran Khan had huge followings.

It also helps that Kohli has always been the most well-behaved when Pakistan is the opposition and has never had a bad thing to say about any of them. He also expertly dodges any questions aimed to bait him on politics.

They don't want to play you.

They tell it to your face. That they don't want to play you.

Being classy means, stepping back from every opportunity to ask them over and over when you can play them again.

They did not post sane but Fawad's post is also ignorant. Nepal, Mauritius, Fiji, Suriname, singapore, Guyana, us, uk all have decent to significant population.

Also why will whole of india go away, at max 25% which is same as entire pak land mass.

He he
Kohli n rohit are going to play till 27 wc so high chances we might see that behaviour from some pak players

Pakistan should never play India again, it will be an insult to sport to play with a country who destroys mosques and kills children

Well if your cricket team had a way of turning humiliations into victories by repeating lies a thousand times over, even they would have "fared" just was well as your armed forces..

But unfortunately for them, cricket doesn't work like that and you have to actually win on the field.
