Like anything in life, practice makes you perfect and if you are out of touch for long you lose that skill. Normally we have seen players who makes a comeback after a long injury or layoff always struggle to find their feet.

Due to this Covid19, all players are locked at home. No net practice...no drills nothing. Maybe occassional gym session to keep themselves fit. Lazy ones like Rohit Sharma may not be doing that either :))

If this lockdown (god forbid) continues for months, can players actually lose their cricket skills due to lack of practice?

Players can lose momentum/form during this break. Not sure about skills.

Many of them will probably be sluggish once cricket returns.

Lol the players will need a few warm up games to get into the groove of things. On the positives it will give players plenty of rest to recuperate, Ravi Shastri commented this was a blessing for Team India

Point well made and speaking of this, I can imagine Steve Smith must be itching to get back to scoring runs again.

Imagine cricket returns around the time when The t20 World Cup has to be played and teams need to get straight to it on such a big event would be interesting to see how teams would perform

A generation of cricketers were interrupted by WW2 and didn’t lose their skills. Len Hutton came back from the war with one arm shortened by two inches and arguably got better.

The same things were being said about Smith when he was serving a year out of the game.

How many runs did he score in the Ashes, his first series back :))

Rohit is naturally gifted like inzi so it wouldn't affect him much but it could affect other players who are hard workers

Pakistan’s older batsmen might struggle the most.

Abid Ali, Azhar Ali, and Mohammad Hafeez could all be due a poor run of form.
