So i was watching the 1st IPL game in a club and its frequented by quite a few old "Cricket Enthusiasts".

One of the things they said was that UAE can be the place where India and Pakistan meet regularly in LOIs. Add may be another 1 or 2 teams to make ita multilateral event.

Since the crown prince is very interested in having Bcci play in UAE get him to organise the event via Emirates board. He has very good personal relations with Modi so GOI permission wont be an issue. Even if he wasnt that good a friend of Modi saying no to a Deputy Head of States invite will be a diplomatic snub and hence wont be done.

May be if we actually had someone with brains like Jagmohan Dalmiya or IAS Bindra or AC Mutthiah or Air Marshal Nur Khan or Ghulam Safdar Bhatt these things would have been discussed.

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" -- George Santayana, 1863-1952.

India's association with cricket in UAE coincides with the worst period of cricketing performance in the last 40 years. Repeated losses, loss of morale, match-fixing, satta bazaar, association with shady characters like Dawood Ibrahim -- this is what UAE has given to Indian cricket in the past.

It's terrible that history is about to repeat itself. Why should India play triangulars and quadrangulars in Dubai when it has a brilliant platform like IPL which requires further investment and nurturing (like adding more teams, introducing women's cricket, youth cricket, 3-day / red-ball cricket etc.)?

A hundred posts regarding that and now even a thread about it. Quite the inferiority complex. Wonder what would have happened if Arbab had actually called instead of writing a letter. :13:

Actually its not inferiority complex. A deputy head of state sending a personal invite isnt a small thing. Lets assume if i 2016 Nawaz Sharif had sent a personal invite to Bcci and GoI a series would have taken place.

Thread is regarding how a series could have been made possible if bcci and pcb were on good terms.

It won't happen, tournaments such as the Asia Cup and ICC events are the only place we are going to see India Pakistan face offs for the foreseeable future
