Can we do an Edgbaston (2016) to England?

Basically we need to be at worst 100-2. Drain and tire them out and grind our way to 400.

Do these batsmen have the capacity to do that?

No because that wicket got flatter and better to bat on - our batting was just useless on that final day although one shouldn't forget Misbah went super defensive after 10 overs when Pakistan had built up a 100 run lead.

Root isn't Misbah and this wicket is only going to get worse to bat on. I can't see Pakistan making more than 250 here. There is enough in the wicket and the uneven balance is going to cause problems.

Pakistan will have to bat for 2 days or say 6 sessions to have any chance of saving this. Very difficult.

I remember a test in NZL though, where pakistan fought back from a similar, in fact even worse position to draw the game.

The one thing to note is that England are playing 3 bowlers and 2 kids. In the first innings there was a moment with Asad & Haris at the wicket Pakistan were slowly nudging ahead. Then it all imploded. Pakistan can defend 200-225 on this wicket but to do that will need to match England's 1st innings score plus 50.

I have no doubts about it. Anything can happen and this is an evolving cricket team unlike the past teams. I wish the best to the team pak. Hopefully we will finish the Eng quick and Upper order scores at least 200. We have got good developing lower order to drag the score. I am sure there is a plenty of drama left in the game and all is not lost.

It's certainly possible, would quite fancy a more established batting line up to do it, but the top order has been pretty bad for Pakistan, and I don't see who is going to pick up the baton here. Imam doesn't look ready, and Babar is a big miss with his replacement also looking green. That leaves a couple of grinders in Azhar and Shafiq and they won't get big enough scores if they survive the opening overs. Just not enough batting talent I'm afraid.
