Any idea about Ice cricket initiative? Didnt the Pakistani players get stuck in Uganda and didnt get paid? Better than Switzerland?

My narrative is simple, if i earned my bread somewhere i will think twice before bad mouthing that country if one day i lose my employment there. And if i dont like a country and its policies i wont go to work there.

The point was that you said that Pakistani players had to go to Uganda to play but Kaif also went for this mickey mouse show because he had to secure his finances but then was probably forced to confront Afridi due ti media pressure from you types. Forget ice initiatives. I thought you were one of the more sincere types but your program here is to ignore facts and just further a specific narrative or propaganda. There is a hell lot of difference between Ice cricket initiative and a mickey mouse league in Uganda which was basically a con job of sorts.

Kaif is among coaching staff of IPL so his finances are pretty secure.


Forced to confront is your opinion. He as an indian is only replying back to a Pakistani. Why is it hard to understand that except a miniscule minority Indian muslims are as Indians as any.

You have to understand that Pakistanis hate Indian Muslims a lot more than they hate an average non-Muslim Indian. With non-Muslim Indians, it's just the regular India-Pakistan dushmani. But they see Indian Muslims as traitors who didn't align with their two-nation theory.

Kaif is a symbol of new middle-class India that emerged in the 90s. He grew up in UP, not in traditional cricketing powerhouses like Mumbai, Delhi, or Karnataka. He was supremely fit, unlike other pot-bellied cricketers of his generation. He didn't have the talent of a Sachin Tendulkar, but he worked hard to earn his place in the Indian side. He was not as spectacularly successful as Yuvraj Singh or Sehwag, but had a okay-ish career. He didn't have any Godfather promoting him. Basically he showed what a sincere, hardworking youth coming from any background could achieve in India if they applied their mind to it, instead of wasting their time throwing stones at cops.

Now he's a coach and (hopefully) leading a comfortable life with his family.

Naturally the Pakistanis hate him and insinuate that somehow he has to demonstrate his loyalty to "Hindu India." What these Pakistanis are too stupid to realize is that the reason Kaif lives in India and supports India with all his heart is because that's what he wants to do. If he wanted to go to their Islamic jannat in Pakistan, or other more comfortable "Muslim" places like Dubai, he can move there overnight.

But Kaif is doing what he wants to do. That is what democratic societies enable you to do. And that is what Pakistanis don't like about India.

I always have a hearty laugh, when an Indian Muslim criticise Pakistan, which happens almost all the time, and people in Pakistan have a hard time accepting that and try to paint it, in an overbearing manner, as if he/she said that with a gun pointed on his temple and to prove his nationality.

I Sniggered when, Kaif who was a nothing cricketer, seems to be have rattled a lot of Pakistanis here with a simple reply on twitter. Already 2 pages worth discussion on his tweet with lots of triggered posters here.

India needs to know they still have 100 of millions of people that are below the poverty line. 3rd world country with over their head celebrities. Kaif should go to kashmir and see if they ever heard of him .

What he's trying to say is Afridi's mouth can be shut if you give him money; a statement that not only doesn't hold any merit but also shows Kaif's own mentality regarding putting money above all. Maybe money is the only thing that is meaningful to Kaif here, but to many other people it isn't.

Kaif hit the nail on the head and characterized Afridi quite accurately. Afridi participated and made money off IPL in its first edition, and has been begging to come back ever since.

Indian Army ops against Kashmiri terrorists have been going on for years. If Afridi truly cared about these Kashmiris and their so called "plight", he would have boycotted IPL.

I have seen my schoolmate shot infront of my eyes.The blood,moans,the cries is something which I can't forget.It still haunts me.No one hesitated to cry that day.The toughest of the toughest alpha male was left in tears.My teacher had a panic attack.The teacher who is known for keeping his head in the worst situations.Kashmir is safe for everyone barring the local KASHMIRIS.

Do you have any shred of proof for the part in bold? Easy for armchair experts to hold such strong opinions about someone's character and intentions without evidence to back it up. Instead of living in a fictitious world where India is the pinnacle of everything and everyone wants to partake in events held there, get rid of this superiority complex and learn to stop this nonsensical character assassination. This "raise the pitchforks" attitude Kaif and Gambhir are employing goes to show how insecure they are about their nation and the issues it faces. People who support the statements these clowns make are even worse than these clowns themselves. Afridi hasn't been begging to come back and him partaking in the IPL in 2008 has nothing to do with his thoughts on this matter. He is just raising important points about things that go on in your country. He isn't boycotting everything related to India.

Majority of Muslims in India face discrimination, maybe the Muslims you know are not part of the under privileged poor societies. Indians have a habit of turning a blind eye to their issues and deny it until they star believing crazy stuff like our friend English August.

A nation that denies hard proof of innocents being killed by its evil army is indeed a nation that needs to look at them self in the mirrior. The interesting thing is you will not see this happening anywhere near as consistently from other nationalities except bhartis. I don't even know why. You can criticize US, Canada, UK, Germany, France etc and except for some odd idiot people from those countries will not bring up your country in response. However deflacting to your country appears to be the defacto response from bhartis. And they don't just do this with Pakistanis, literally anyone who criticizes their country is treated this way. I am not sure why they consider their country so infallible, it is beyond any logic.

Majority of Muslims in India face discrimination, maybe the Muslims you know are not part of the under privileged poor societies. Indians have a habit of turning a blind eye to their issues and deny it until they star believing crazy stuff like our friend English August.

These same Indian cricketers, celebrities, politicians etc have said and will say nothing when Kashmiri civilians have been slaughtered, raped, disappeared, tortured for the last 3 decades. It just shows the hypocrisy they have.

As for the Indian media they are the worst media in the world, by far. The way they have twisted Afridis tweet into something that mushroomed about terrorism and defending their beloved nation is something only they are capable of doing so.

What’s worse you have many Indians still defending their pathetic media outlets. It should embarrass them but apparently not.

I don't see how he is begging to come back in these links. He is raising points and is providing his own perspective and what he feels should happen. He is saying Pakistani players should be allowed in the IPL since both India and Pakistan would benefit from it in the end. Indian fans get to witness good Pakistani players playing cricket, while Pakistani players get to play in the best t20 league. Different to begging and losing sleep over the exclusion.
 
Afridi has no future in IPL and with these comments he is ensuring his own political future and ruining any chance of cricket between India and Pakistan.

I know it's hard to accept when you realize that the "superstar" you adore is in fact made of clay.

Internet has made it hard for people to spin what they said earlier. This is a good example of Afridi doing a 180 degree on what he said earlier.

It denies fact track citizenship and refugee status to people of majority religion from Pak and BD. It has nothing to do with Indians.
 
I think most Pakistani players would be happy with Indian government and sing their praises if they had big IPL contracts...

Why wouldn’t they?? The money yes of course BUT if that were they case then surely the situation between the two countries would be good too and maybe, just maybe, the Indian Liberals would have won over the Indian extremists.

We can only hope that would be the case.

There are countless (millions and not 100,000s) indian muslims who were living there since independence and have no papers to show that their grandfather or great grandfathers were indians due to lack of access/poverty etc. Is this what keeps u happy and makes u sleep at night that it is for Pak and bd hindus? Keep urself happy everyday because the truth is a lot different. We have discussed this in detail in the other thread. Fact remains Indian muslims like Kaif might not be Indian anymore (not specifically saying him). I would protest too if I was in their shoes.

List top 10 greatest cricketers ever to play for Pakistan. Kaif who was a great talent but had a middling international career has a greater net worth th than the total combined net worth of 8 of those players combined.

Only talking about money earned through cricket though not other activities. So yes Kaif is doing perfectly fine and so are all the Muslims earning a honest living are going way better than their pakistani counterparts. Can’t say about the nuisance types though (all religions included) they seem to be not doing as good as before.

Kaif was a crap cricketer, any amount of money will not change that. Indians are their love of money just looks silly. End of the day, the money that a celeb means nothing for the common person who struggles to eat 2 meals a day.

He wasn’t talking about the amount of money Kaif has. Maybe you should have asked Shabana Azmi about a Muslim trying to buy a property in India.
That was his point - no amount of fake nationalism is going to change the fact you as a Muslim will face open discrimination in India.
 
It must be galling for Kaif that despite his protestations of being a proud Ind, he as Ind Muslim will always be treated as 2nd citizen, looked upon with suspicion and that forever has to show his loyalty to Modis fascist Ind. He cannot speak up without the fear of being lynched by the RSS mob.
