KARACHI: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday launched the first major protest against the PTI led government in Islamabad, with a special train carrying hundreds of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) workers to Larkana, the hometown of Bhuttos.

The protest titled Karwan-e-Bhutto (Caravan of Bhutto) comes days after Bilawal and his father Asif Ali Zardari were interrogated by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Rawalpindi in connection with money laundering probe.

Good that the "caravan" goes through Sindh. Finally Bilawal i can see what mess his party has done for the last 10 years.

Caravan-e-Corruption should be the name given. There is nothing Bhutto about it. Once again PPP using the bhutto name to lure the masses. Bilawal has no shame at all knowing well the dire situation of Sindh (their party has been in charge for 22 our of last 30 years in the province).

I kid you not, I genuinely thought this was some sota joke or new meme.

Lolz.

At least, some PPP jialas will get free food and tafreeh :P

#CaravanOfCorruption trending on Twitter :))

Can anyone who has the scoop on Pakistani politics explain to me what the purpose of this is? Will it have any significant importance?

Opposition parties always do that.. our politicians are mostly always like this.. sizes of the crowds is used to show support. Most of these rallies pay to recruit people to show up as well, so they can flex their muscle.

Nothing of substance... it’s just unfortunate though that real work doesn’t matter.

When Imran could carry out similar "dharnas" when he was in opposition then how is it wrong for PPP to do so?

Imran Khan started the Dharna to combat corruption, exactly the issue Nawaz sharif was recently jailed and Zardari n co. are in courts for.

Bilawal on the otherhand is trying to use the "Bhutto" name to hide his father's corruption. Massive difference between the two.

If Imran does it then its ok, but if Bilalwal does it, PTI fans have issues with it.

However, this is quite poor from PPP.

The Bhutto Train marches were iconic, there was a reason behind it. Bhutto saab had the army after him and he had to keep moving around to do those marches.
Those marches had a meaning to it. Its from where the ideology of Bhutto Zinda hai started to rise.
Zia wanted to finish of democracy, but Bhutto fought for that through the trains. At the end, they killed an innocent Bhutto, but they couldn't kill his democratic ideology.

But what PPP and Bilalwal is doing is just pathetic. He is ruining his Grandfathers great name through this antics. He dosen't have to do these train marches, he should concentrate on his party and what they are doing in Sindh.

Bilalwal isn't under any threat to carry these train marches either.

true.

Bahria Town often forces its workers to attend PPP rallies, and those workers have to attend due to threat of their job

Confused Jiyalas more often than not fail to understand why poor children running along a train to support the demigod superlord Baby BHUTTO instead of being in schools is actually BAD.

You answered your first line with the rest of your post yaar. Imran Khan had legitimate reasons which were proved correct. There is no need for marches now. I liked Bilawal a lot, but he's proving to be a disaster.

NAWABSHAH: "Caravan-e-Bhutto" led by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reached Nawabshah on Wednesday as it makes it way to Larkana.

The PPP chairman was warmly welcomed by party workers at Nawabshah Railway Station.

The “Caravan-e-Bhutto” which kicked off on Tuesday from Karachi's Cantt Station saw many senior PPP leaders join Bilawal as he makes his way to Larkana to attend the 40th death anniversary of the party founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

Addressing party workers from the compartment of his train, the PPP chairman said the late former premier and party founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto sacrificed his life but did not take a U-turn.

Bilawal said that Bhutto sacrificed his life, but the late former premier did not take a U-turn.

Upon reaching Kotri Station, the PPP chairman alleged that the rulers of the country were conspiring through "NAB Gardi", adding that the anti-graft body was formed to help run "selected governments".

"We have seen Zia's dictatorship, we are not scared of this government," he said. Bilawal later paid a tribute to late party founder by reciting a poem in his honour.

Pakistan Peoples Party's train march against the federal government kicked off from Karachi's Cantt Station on Tuesday under the leadership of party chairman Bilawal.

Caravan i lutto. He is a bigger shameless than his father. Received Rs12000 billion+ & still our kids are dying from drought. Around 10 years back I heard S Rasheed saying that children of these politicians will be bigger dacoit than their parents and time is proving him. Made the entire province beggar on the name of Benazir income support program & glut the hard working people's tax on undeserving slaves.

It’s sad that people can actually get behind a spoilt child who inherited the leadership of a political party, the emphasis on “inheritited” ...

The sooner these parties are obliterated the better.

The same people crying democracy democracy support a party that changes leadership in the most dictatorial way possible.

Heck Billoo madam had to change his name from Zardari to Bhutto in order to get some semblance of legitimacy when taking over the party.

Nawaz shareef got removed for not being a sadiq and ameen :)

Nawaz Sharif got removed not because of was not "sadiq & ameen", but because of numerous corruption scandals, one of which he is in jail for right now (released for 6 weeks on medical grounds).

There are numerous cases, where the likes of Nawaz and his kids looted the nation's wealth. Most of the tax money, international loans, and grants that were given to the PML-N govt went in their pockets, not on their people.

Infact, the only difference between the Sharifs and Zardari is that zardari has been a lot smarted in hiding the theft, and also that he used to take 100% of what was given to Pakistan through loans, grants and taxes. Soon both of them are in jail and shown to the people that they are disgraced corrupt politicians, the better.

In the same line, if ever Imran Khan or any PTI person does something remotely like what Nawaz and Zardari did, my stance would still be the same. Jail them!!

I have no problem with it but I feel he should sort out the problems sindh are going through first. Atleast Sindh meh koi kaam e kar lo before going on these dharnas.

Great news.

Prime Minister Imran Khan 'not serious' about ending corruption: Bilawal

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Saturday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was "not at all serious" about ending corruption and only seeks to launch "fake cases" against his political opponents.

Bilawal's remarks followed shortly after the prime minister, during a rally in Ghotki, had vowed that the government would not let PML-N and PPP leaders off the accountability hook "until they give back the country's [looted] wealth". The premier had also discussed corruption in Sindh, where the PPP has a majority government.

While speaking to media, the PPP chairman remarked that he had read the news that NAB has evidence against a sitting minister and his brother, but expressed the view that the minister would not be arrested because the corruption watchdog only practices "selective accountability".

"We all know that NAB's law [National Accountability Ordinance] is a black law, designed for political engineering," said Bilawal.

The PPP chairman claimed that if anyone was serious about challenging corruption and instating the law of justice and accountability — which he said was equally applicable to every citizen — it was him.

He promised he would one day establish such laws in the country, accusing the prime minister of only seeking to "show off his politics".

"Khan sahab's politics start and end at NAB," he said.

He alleged that the accountability bureau had played an "important role" in the appointment of the incumbent government — which he labelled a "selected government" — and further alleged that the bureau continued to have a hand in running it.

Bilawal said that the premier beats the drums of provinces having increased responsibility and questioned why then they are not given their due share of resources. He accused the government of "stealing" the resources that belong to the people and spending them in Islamabad.

"This is a 'red line' for PPP and we cannot tolerate it at all," he said, adding that the PPP would oppose this "conspiracy" at every forum.

In response to a question, Bilawal said that he had undertaken his recent train journey, a reference to the PPP's "Caravan-i-Bhutto", for Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's death anniversary.

"I know that Khan sahab doesn't go to his constituencies," he remarked, adding: "A selected politician does not give importance to his voters."

Afghan peace process
While responding to a question regarding Afghanistan, the PPP chairman said: "I think that the people and representatives of Afghanistan should make decisions about the future of Afghanistan."

He said that everyone was hopeful that the steps taken by the US and other countries would bring fruitful results to the long-drawn conflict that had brought so much instability to the region.

Bilawal, however, expressed "some doubts" about the process as the people and representatives of Afghanistan were not being taken into confidence.

He remarked that when US President Donald Trump said that the US was pulling out of Afghanistan, the Afghan president himself had found out about the announcement through the television.

Bilawal said that Prime Minister Khan's recent statement regarding Afghanistan was "inappropriate" and that the premier or any Pakistani should not make statements against the Afghan government and elected representatives.

Accuses Pakistan of going soft on Israel under PTI
Regarding Israel, the PPP chairman said that his party stands with the people of Palestine regardless of the position taken up by other Pakistani politicians, the Muslim community or the rest of the world.

"I think that since Khan sahab came to power, perhaps Pakistan's stance towards Israel has seen some softening," he alleged, citing it to be a common perception among political circles.

Billo has become a parody. What an absolute idiot, Oxford must be embarrassed that such a loser came anywhere near their University.

He even liked a tweet spreading fake news about Arif Alvi. :))

Never has the stock of dynastic progeny fallen so quickly. Most of these selected losers have bit of a honeymoon, but his desire to save daddy has made him look like an absolute idiot.

Fawad Chaudhry tells Khursheed Shah to 'stop selling Benazir and Bhutto's names'

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry slammed senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Syed Khursheed Shah on Sunday and said he should "stop selling the names of Benazir and Bhutto".

Chaudhry took to Twitter and said, “Khursheed Shah should remember his wrongdoings and stop selling the names of Benazir and Bhutto. Shah has the biggest part in the destruction of national institutions."

“He [Shah] was the chairman of the committee which stacked political appointments in the past. Shah is the biggest ‘insect’ in the termites which ate away at the roots of our national institutions,” the minister added.

Earlier in the day, Shah had criticised the incumbent government's decision to rename Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) saying that Benazir Bhutto made sacrifices not just for the party but for the entire country.

“It is shameful Imran Khan wants to remove the former premier’s name from BISP,” Shah told media in Sukkur. "There is fear that what if these ‘Naya Pakistan’ people [also] remove Quaid-e-Azam’s image from the currency [notes].”

“You can’t remove Benazir’s name from the hearts of people. That is the name of democracy,” the PPP leader said. “The name that was written in blood cannot be removed with water.”

Prime Minister Imran Khan, during a meeting with members of the Grand Democratic Alliance in Ghotki on Saturday, was quoted as suggesting that the name of BISP, the country’s largest social safety net programme of its kind, would be amended.

It should be renamed unless AZ and the PPP are willing to pay the annual cost. Why are govt funded schemes named after crooks?

The question is why are people so gullible to be easily exploited by "Bhutto" slogan. Let him launch his train march as long as it remains peaceful.

You just need to look at the state of Sindh and Karachi to know the reality of the PPP and their 10 year reign in Sindh
