Salaam / hello everyone,

I hope everyone is well and keeping safe. Well, this is my second thread in a short period of time.

Let me get this started, I have been working in a role which has great scope and senior people make a lot of money. However, it is really stressful, demanding and apparently people have shorter life spans in my industry. I do not want to give much personal information away as this is a public forum.

Anyways, I had it all planned and I was thinking to go self employed part time and go part time in my work too. Unfortunately, the corona virus has jolted my plans and I really cant go self employed now. My self employment option has close contact with different people and with having parents, I do not wish to bring the virus home.

So now I am thinking to really consider my options as each day is really difficult. I would never leave my job in these uncertain times without having another opportunity. I wish to pursue opportunities as a junior business analyst (limited experience but I am certified) or in software sales (I have sales and client based experience and an IT based degree). I was wondering whether some guidance can be given by those who have a lot more experience and ofcourse wisdom :) Focus on whether this is a good time to look for a new job and which field has more scope.

Many thanks in advance.

If your are interested in software coding you cam try becoming a software developer.

It's good money option if your are interested in coding, if not ignore this advice.

But If your are living in US there are hundreds of desi consultancies (mostly south indian) they can arrange for proxy interviews & you don't need to learn to code as well as your job will be done by a proxy sitting in india :P

You do need to share a bit more about your actual background, degrees, years of experience, where you are based, what type of job you have currently , and where you see yourself longterm for anyone to give proper advice. Otherwise, we would be making random suggestions that may or may not be applicable to your scenario. Without knowing any details by 2 cents, current times are not the best ones for quitting a job at hand and shifting careers. Market is quite uncertain and with theconomic crisis not many companies are hiring anyway. Also chances of layoff are higher if you are newly hired and higher salary vs incumbent.

And then people complain that why Indians are alleged for H1b fraud.

And then people complain that why Indians are alleged for H1b fraud.

I must admit indians abused (continue to abuse even till date) H1B system a lot, not only H1B,business visas are abused by indian companies openly without anything to hide.

Indian IT companies directly abuse this US immigration system.Even US immigration sued many indian companies multiple times but still they do it.

Guess what even US immigration & govt. (from obama to trump) know about this but still they can't do much

You think the US companies are not aware of this fraud?

My company recently kicked out a few, who were working via a proxy and is more vigilant now. These are the reasons why Trump is going to crack down on H1Bs and rightly so.

Its a pity that good hardworking Indians also get a bad reputation because of this rampant H1b fraud.

^^ most of these type of frauds r done by telugu language speaking guys (telangana & andhra pradesh states) unfortunately. I am a telugu guy and unfortunately here in our states in India it is considered a status symbol to work in software job in US.

Hence telugu guys abuse CPT,OPT,H1 B,L1 etc., and US govt. knows very well about this but they will keep mum.
