Let’s keep a track of whose career ends in a particular match

I feel this match ended the careers of Iftikhar and Khushdil. They wore the jersey for the one last time.
Pakistani players don't end their careers just like that. Wait for the loops and rolls before they're either dragged away kicking and screaming (Yousuf, Akmal) or fade into oblivion without announcing a retirement (Razzaq, Ajmal).
So this thread will go nowhere IMO.

I don't know what posters here have against Iftikhar. He has gotten extremely limited chances in limited overs and has done fairly well especially in T20s.
As for ODIs, there are few batsmen who have genuinely earned a place in the ODI side based on their List A performances. And Iftikhar is one of them. Anyone who has followed domestic in recent years knows he has been absolutely crushing it in the Pakistan Cup year after year. There is no one better suited to the No.6 position in ODIs for Pakistan rn. And I think in T20s he should have a similar role at 5 or 6.
His career is far from over.
For one thing he has done blatant age fraud. Not the typical one or two years. I would say at minimum he is 35.
So what?
What does that have to do with his ability to perform as a cricketer?
Also, he is probably much older than that.
There's no such thing as career ending in Pakistan cricket. Iftikhar will make 2-3 more comebacks while Khushdil will also have 5+ comebacks.
Our selection policy works differently series by series so there's every chance for any player to make a comeback at any point. Even Kamran Akmal will be in reckoning for the opening slot.
Good professional teams don't look back, and the selectors are not soft. They identify a pool of best performers and stick with them.
Wridhi Mahaan saha
The only two players whose careers should end after this are Asif Ali and Husain Talat.
A player like Asif Ali is dangerous for Pakistan because he is selected on the idea that he will play some Buttler-esque knock when in reality the only good knock he ever played came in a losing cause, in an ODI against England that he should have finished off.
Talat is the most mentally weak player I personally seen in a very long time. I sincerely hope he never plays for Pakistan. Ever.
I am tempted to add Khushdil to the list but I think he has some talent and shouldn't be written off just yet. However, he is by no means ready for international cricket right now.
The fact that you rate Iftikhar and Khushdil over Azam is astounding.I don't know what posters here have against Iftikhar. He has gotten extremely limited chances in limited overs and has done fairly well especially in T20s.

means your further along the development curve and likely to start regressing as an athlete much faster than you would if ur age was real, thus disrupting the ability of management to make effective long term plans.
i have nothing against iftikhar, and if he was really 30 id suggest he would be useful as a squad player, but he must be in his late 30s, which means his ability will start to decline rapidly in two or three years.

Players are selected on performance. Each side has only a handful of players that are seen as long-term prospects, the rest shuffle in and out. Pakistan has plenty of guys who are long-term prospects: Babar, Shadab, Rizwan, Shaheen, Hasan, Imam.
Also, I don't think Pakistan as a side can't be so choosy. Pakistan is a mediocre side and if there is a player around who has the potential to be a consistent performer, even in the short-term: he should be backed.
AA isn't international quality and has never shown anything to suggest otherwise. Talat is late on the ball but I wouldn't disregard him totally, I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt at this point but signs arent promising. As far as Khushdil is concerned, he looks out of place but he is also a big hitter and it's too easy to kick him out. This is where we need some of coaches to work with him. I would get him into open wickets and work on him hitting exclusively through the off side. It would take time but it can be done.

Pakistan ends Faf du Plessis’s Test career.

Shinwari anyone?
What about sarfaraz. Surely we donr need him when rizwan is in the form of his life and we have good upcomming wicket keepers in azam khan and rihail nazir.
He has a very powerful lobby behind him. He'll be first in line if Rizwan is ever rested or injured so nah.
What "Lobby"
Karachi journalists and social media in general
Yamin not playing again even at PSL I think

Virat Kohli![]()
Haris Rauf please. Enough of the failed experiment
Haris Rauf probably saved 40 runs today by getting the wicket of Miller. How is he a failed experiment?
The most worrying thing about Haris is the lack of brain cells, surely he can see what we can see and that is that his short ball is a 4 ball and he needs to stop bowling or improve it by getting it higher than just above waist high. That alone would improve his bowling by 20%.
It's not just the height. It invariably ends up on or outside leg stump as well, which is very easy to just guide to fine/square leg. It's clearly not working and if he can't see that, he might as well be a member of another species.
Asif Ali in ODIs

As much as we would hate it, Asif Ali will still be back
Some guys look older than their real age. Its genetics. Look at German soccer star Thomas Muller. Now, don't claim germans do age fraud too.
