After a whirlwind of a tournament being concluded, with Pakistan crowned Champions of the Trophy, it is now the right time to ask the question...

What is your team of the tournament?

Which openers, middle over consolidators, finishers, all-rounders and bowlers do you think can make the strongest team possible for ODIs?

Firstly - congrats Pakistan. Thank you for showing the world your true potential, the sport needed this!

I'm surprised everyone has forgotten kane williamson - 57, 87 and 100. Surely a lock-in at no.4 (ahead of Morgan). And tamim iqbal as well - 95, 128 and 70 against the top 3 sides.

I'd go with:

1) Dhawan
2) Fakhar
3) Tamim Iqbal
4) Kane Williamson
5) Kohli
6) Sarfraz (wk)
7) Aamir
8) Hasan Ali
9) Hazelwood
10) Tahir
11) Bhuvi / Junaid

If I am to choose a CT team of the tournament, this'll be my XI (XV)

1. Dhawan
2. Tamim
3. Williamson (VC)
4. Kohli
5. Stokes
6. Sarfraz*+
7. Sakib
8. Starc
9. Amir
10. Hasan
11. Tahir
--------------------------
Wood, Fakhar, JK, Root

Honorable mentions: BKumar, Pandeya, Morgan, Hazzlewood, Rohit, Mahmudullah, Buttler, Mushi. If 16th player is allowed, I'll pick Buttler as back-up keeper.

I pick, Ken as Sarfu's deputy, because today I wasn't impressed at all with Virat's Captaincy. He looses it under pressure.

Dhawan
Tamim
Kohli
Morgan
Stokes
Mushfiqur (keeper)
Pandya
Shadab Khan
Hasan Ali
Bhuvi
M Wood

I wanted to pick Sarfaraz but he hasn't batted too often. Amir misses out unfortunately so does Fakhar.

Rohit was better than Tamim, Ronchi was btter than Tamim, Azhar was better than Tamim, thank God u didnt include Mustafiz, Taskin, Mushraffee, Somuya Sarkar, Sakib, Mussadiq and Mehdi in the XI ...

Tamim played 3 good knocks under pressure with his partners failing around him. Rohit had support from Kohli Dhawan. Fakhar had support from Azhar and also Babar yesterday. He scored all those runs and became the 2nd highest run scorer of the tournament

i dont even remember enough players names to be honest, they are so mediocre, only remember pak players(i dont say they arnt mediocre)

all i remember is ricky ponting, adam gilchrist, andrew symonds, mcgrath, brett lee, shoaib, wasim waqar gramme smith, kallis, ABD etc

the current players are so pathetic to know their names

remember few like kholi, rohit from india

so cant possibly name the CT17 XI

so i would say

bairstow
rohit
kholi
ABD
sarfraz (wk/c)
dhoni
paindu
stokes
hasan
amir

I agree with the fact Tamim had less support, but I wouldn't put him over Fakhar. Both got 1 century, 2 half centuries. Tamim iqbal scored at 10 runs average higher than Fakhar but Fakhar scored at 30 more in SR.

Tamim was a little slow for my liking, and in the crunch stages he didn't perform as well as Fakhar. Got out for zero against New Zealand (where his team carried him to a win, securing their qualification to the semis). Performed in the semi final against India, but not quick enough to propel Bangladesh to a 300 or so score which Bangladesh could have made a game of. Felt his efforts while good, just weren't match winning enough. Fakhar on the other hand got better each game, scoring consecutive fifties and then a hundred towards the end at great SRs and was instrumental in setting up those wins. Shakib and Mahmudullah had better clutch knocks to win games than Tamim.

Tamim had a great tournament don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't pick him over Fakhar. Still think MilkyWay is going overboard, Tamim was one of the best batsmen of the tournament still. Azhar certainly wasn't better than Tamim.
