Loss in three-match series can see them lose number one spot; Windies can go up to second place.

Pakistan have the opportunity to firm up their position at the top of the MRF Tyres ICC T20I Team Rankings in an upcoming three-match series against the Windies which will be played in Karachi from 1 to 3 April.

A 3-0 victory will take the Sarfraz Ahmed-led side four points clear of Australia, who had closed in on them following a 2-0 series win over New Zealand last month. Pakistan and Australia are both currently on 126 points, with Pakistan ahead on decimal points.

The Windies, who are currently in fifth position with 115 points, will slip to 111 points and seventh position, behind England and South Africa, in such a scenario.

A 2-1 win for Pakistan will not change the position or points for either side while a 2-1 win for the Windies will pull Pakistan down to 123 points, just two more than third-placed India. The Windies will be on 119 points.

In case the Jason Mohammed-led side are victorious by a 3-0 margin, they will overtake Pakistan with the teams finishing on 122 and 120 points, respectively.

That's extra motivation! I can see us beating them 3-0 tbh so hopefully we put daylight between us and the other teams.

It should be 3-0 no ifs no buts. Though I don't care about rankings. As long as tournaments being won.Who cares about these rankings.

16 wins of the last 19 T20s is no joke, easily best T20 side in the world.

Lol. When you’re not top then it’s hit and giggle. I bet ODIs were hit and giggle before too :)))

That’s a term being used for T20 cricket by aussies and brits. Don’t worry, India will soon be no 1 in this format as well like we took it away from you guys in Test.:))

Good to see people taking hit and giggle format so seriously.

I guess ICC should scrap it all together then eh?

Really don't get this logic of downplaying ODIs & T20s where they are the two most popular and widely viewed formats. Whether it is bilaterals or tournaments, they all matter as they generate most of the revenue.

Test cricket is almost dead.
