I am no political expert, especially in the complicated subject of Pakistani politics but I personally feel IK has no chance of returning to power in a year’s time.

This may be the end of his storybook life as a sportsman turned president of a nation. PTI might also be on the brink. From what I understand, a lot of its key players have abandoned the ship. They wouldn’t do so knowing they had the next elections in the bag.

A year isn’t a long time, but I also feel India/Modi/BJP can also play a key role in ensuring Khan is not brought back to power by supporting Shahbaz Sharif and changing the economic situation of Pakistan. Any positive changes now (globally and with India) will be nail in the coffin of Khan’s political career.

Realistically, there is no successor to PTI unless another popular cricketer who is loved by the nation joins the party as a potential future leader.

Zero! He has incensed the military first by bickering over the appointment of ISI chief in October and then by firing COAS Bajwa last night. There is ZERO chance of PTI and Imran ever coming back to power.

Agree with the regards of imran getting back in to power, which is very low. Establishment, mafia, the enemy overseas will make sure his chances are ltd, unless the Almighty God has plans for him to.

Stop with these lies. There were 5-6 journalists at PM house close to midnight and they asked him specifically about that and he laughed and said there is not truth in this, only baseless rumours from some anti-IK journalists. Can’t believe people can sit here and post rubbish.

Exactly! Been saying this in other threads these are absolutely baseless allegations and given the disinformation network is working overtime on this news.

If the elections are free and fair he will can come back into power but it will not be with a majority.

I have very little hope.

Heating rumours that some members were forcibly removed from Prime Ministers house at gun point by the army and that IK did sack Bajwa but the ministry didn't accept it.

With the army supporting the corrupt and the thieves all ganged up together (the media and judiciary also being controlled by them), it would take a minor miracle for IK to win any election.

There are only two parties big enough to be able to form a government, PTI or PMLN.

The question is how will Shehbaz Sharif manage as makeshift PM until elections. I personally think he will have a difficult time steadying the economy and managing with a weak government. The longer till the next election, the more difficult the situation for PMLN.

On the other hand, IK is now still pretty popular, and can get into election mode while criticizing the 'imported government'.

I personally think Khan has an excellent chance of rallying support, but then its hard to tell if the establishment will rig again. They generally don't prefer rogue agents.

Though it is doom and gloom but political scenarios keep on changing IK will definitely comeback relax

Mass rigging would be needed to bring down PTI to its knees in the next election. They still have 30 to 40 percent of nation’s support.

Not our problem bro. Let's concentrate on Britain where we live, and India for now, leave Pakistan to the Pakistanis like Mamoon and @ Major, and maybe some HK based exp-pats who don't reply to posts. See you in those threads!

PDM circus is soon to begin with infightings so just wait and enjoy the show that ll soon be unfolding. It was easier to loot Pakistan couple of years back but after Imran Khan era, general population have had enough of leeches sucking blood of common Pakistanis. He ll be back with majority and this time the PDM gang members ll have a tougher time to run away to London and escape jail.

I would say very high chance. Hopefully he introspects a bit. Takes time off and reflects. He has to also find peace and trust of establishment again.

Apparently Bajwa’s men beat Imran up. :)))

What happened to PTI supporters’ “one page” narrative?

Youth have been humiliated like no tomorrow.

He has zero chance of becoming the PM again. It is game over for the fake messiah.

He has lost. Defeated. Humiliated. Embarrassed. A traitor.

More chance of IK coming back as PM compared to Pakistanis who support corrupt parties and are desperate to move to overseas.

It’s very simple - it depends what this replacement government does to fix/repair Pakistans economy in the next 1.5 years.

If inflation comes under control, if the economy recovers and the average voter sees improvement in their daily lives then it will be difficult to see Imran getting back to power.

However as Inflation is happening world wide I don’t see how the new Pak government can control it without burrowing massive amounts of money or hiking interest rates which in that case means the economy stalling in the process.

So for me it totally depends on the economy. At this stage he has a decent chance but we will see in 1 years time.

Politics is art of possibility. And in a country with dysfunctional institutions things can change quickly. All it takes is for someone to keep hanging in there.

Well pakistanis lived in Pakistan where Pakistan became worse than India and even Bangladesh thanks to multiple governments of PPP and Noon league and we are still allowing these crooks back in power so they can finish the work of destruction they carried out in their previous tenures. So all I say welcome to fall down to purana Pakistan. Happy Corruptions and following your western masters.

If you are going to call someone a traitor while admitting to hating the country and it's people, then at least you should nail your colours to the mast. Who are you going to back as replacement? Please nail your colours to the mast so we can judge your choice appropriately.

Not only has Imran has destroyed the country and the economy, he has also destroyed Pakistan’s relationship with the U.S.

The military will never allow him to assume power again. They cannot afford a PM who will rub the Western axis the wrong way.

They clearly realize that it was a mistake to back him in 2018.

IK was a fake messiah, alright. But how can one rejoice over the return of those, who were responsible for Pakistan needing a “messiah” in the first place? While I can understand your contempt for IK and his fanatic, loud-mouth supporters, what’s your view on the political future of the country.

Shahbaz, Bilawal, Maulana all of them are highly unlikeable and unfit people. PPP a “liberal” party is in bed with JUI, a party whose supporters are highly religious and Taliban sympathisers. How can one ignore that they have no vision, no moral compass and only their hunger for power units them?

Are you basically just enjoying the mess, while having given up on a better future for the country?

I do not think so.
First all the drama he created and referred army with different name indirectly.
Second foreign funding case decision now soon be announced to end his political career.
Third they might bring a case against him for breaking the constitution.

Oh yes i am sure army has learned from the experience. yesterday he tried until the last minute to bring the Marshall law.
Unless he makes new deal with them.

So who should they/you back now? Please answer this question as a patriotic Pakistani, surely this should matter to you?

You never know in Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif was created by the Army, he was their poster child. Eventually, this relationship deteroriated. However, as we see now, his family and him are again being brought back by the army. In Pakistan, you never say never.

The only thing not on Imran Khan's side is his age. He is 70 years old and I wonder how many years he has left in him. We needed him for these next 5-7 years when he was still agile and in his political prime.

I have no hope for Pakistan anymore.

If he's not trialed to be put behind the bars by doctored cases or killed. He'll be back

Yes. He does the same with Pakistan Cricket team. Finding joy in misery is a contagious disease.

Funny how PML N and PPP supporters criticize the army's involvement in politics when they are out of power and support it when they are favoured again.

Personally think if the Army and the US has decided that IK is not coming to power again then it's game over for the PTI being a political force again unless somehow this country can replicate the Iran 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Now that the old crooks are back and the illusion of sovereignty has been removed. The question is will the US give us the support we need from the international financial structure? Is Pakistan going to be removed from FATF? Are we going to let go of this fake narrative of Kashmir? If we cannot be a sovereign nation then atleast we should use this to benefit and uplift the Pakistanis economy and standing in the world.

If we still remain a country that is barely surviving and on a brink of being bankrupt then there cannot be anything more unfortunate for a country.

True say. If anything the best examples are these corrupt leeches who keep coming back after running away and hiding like choohas every few years, after all political parties are their baap dada ke jageer and they have supporter who are inflicted with the mentality of ji akka-huzoors ghulami.

This temporary joyus dance of anti Imran brigade that some know folks are doing here along with the ghoos khoor parliament and biryani ke plate pe voter, ll only last as long as PDM's unity lol.

IK faces the following problems

- The loss of his principal finances ie Aleem Khan, Jahangir Tareen. How will he get a private jet to do his Jalsas and meet the party and Bani Gala expenditures?

- The army leadership is strongly against him now. The one pro Imran general faiz has been sidelined and unlikely to be appointed COAS

- The PDM opposition has been given a free hand to do as they wish by the army hence they will do everything to make life hell for IK and PTI

- The US is against him and will make sure he doesn't come to power again

- IKs rule wasn't perfect he made some terrible blunders ie unreliable electibles, choosing buzdar as CM Punjab and the CM of Kpk was also a poor choice. He was not able to control inflation and the weakening PKR currency against the US, people will not forget these blunders.

I think IK will be confined to the opposition for the remainder of his political life

Is it legal for IK to set up a donation fund from overseas Pakistanis to support him?

Depends on the PDM's performance. If they make things worse or even the same then people might forget or not care.

The crooks will eventually fail the people. Regardless of how much support they get from international organizations they will fall back to their old ways of commissions, fraud and loot and its effects will trickle down to the ordinary people of Pakistan.

Traitor? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Rich coming from the person who himself is a traitor along supports the biggest thieves and traitors this country has seen. According to you Nawaz Sharif is an a honest man - says it all.

Why can't Imran Khan come out in public or on Twitter to confirm the above? He can galvanize support in that way.

So basically Pakistani PM should just obey whatever US/EU say, and if anyone asks for mutually benefiting relationship she/he should be removed.

For all the digs at Indians over the years and about self respect , Pakistanis do seem to sell out their self respecting leaders.

In 5 years again the propaganda of establishment being the best and Indians being submission to Western nations will be back whereas the truth is completely different.

Some people like the begger relationship with US, so their beloved leaders are looked after by US. Atleast with PTI supporters they have woken up to the perils of following orders from the US, and know the true nature of west.

He has been saying since the “animals are neutral” comment, people just seem to think it’s not an issue.

Right. He said in a conflict of good and evil only animals are neutral.

When he gave that hint most viewed it as he wants them to take his side. However now another view is he was saying that they are siding with evil.

Some PTI supporters in protests have been insulting them using the term "Chowkidar", "vigo", "pindi". Not openly. Plausible deniability is needed.

This post shows how much PDM supporters hate IK, that now they will defend the chowkidar.

"Apparently". The biggest issue in today's world is disinformation.

Did you see IK's smiling face in core committee meeting today? Did that look like a beat up face lol. Admit or not on one IK call millions are out on street all across Pakistan. You really think someone can do that to a person this powerful.

This “powerful” person got disgraced and kicked out in the most humiliation fashion. His supporters worship him because he is their god, but the rest of us and the rest of the world does not take him seriously anymore.

His chapter is closed and he is finished. He lost.

Worship is a strong word in our faith. IK is inspiration, he is motivation and he is the voice of the masses but he is no religion. You can direct this analogy with other posters if you feel like but I will certainly take offence to it.

On topic - IK is finished/closed/lost only time will tell.

I know you would not admit it but you know its true that this episode of NCM has just given new lease of life to IK and PTI who was well on the way down. Not only just given a new lease of life but seems like new life with superpowers now (aka anti America sells like wildfire in Pakistan and IK has a lot of this power to use up till next elections).

For people like Mamoon and Major the army becomes Halal when they side with the PDM but Haram when they side with IK.

Based on my own sources in the army in Abbotabad and Rawalpindi, there is a lot of anger and resentment over Bajwa and the senior army officials in the middle to lower ranks and senior ranks over the fact they have aided the PDM over IK so blatantly and the army's reputation has drastically gone to the toilet so rapidly.

If the protests, foreign imported govt and anti Bajwa sentiment prevails in the streets non stop, no telling what could happen in the army going forward.

I never said army halal. If they support ppp or pdm i am against them

The issues is woth you guys. If army supports you again you will celebrate that we are on the same page

How do you explain the court documents presented by Pak military lawyer? Have you seen them? Why was the IHC forced to open at midnight?

A "dhanda" can be done even at midnight , if the price is right for the courts in Pakistan . I wanted to use another words but that might not be right for this forum.

He could return in a week but he respects peace & law .

They played against the rules . The people are so huge in number , they could also not play by the rules & Simply drag out these dodgy illegitimate politicians & force them to resign . Even Army can’t stop so many people & wouldn’t dare

When Imran lost the 1987 WC semi-final, he appeared to be on his last legs and nobody in their senses thought he would win the 1992 WC.

This is a similar situation. Imran wasn't allowed to run the government the way he wanted to in the last 4 years because of many hurdles. Half of his tenure was impacted by Covid 19. He also did many stupid things and there is nobody in Pakistan who is a better learner than him.

Imran Khan’s fall was needed for Imran Khan’s rise. Those who think that this is the end of him are in living in a fool’s paradise. The only thing stopping him will be assassination, and that would cause huge turmoil in the country, and I am sure the army are smart enough not to take that route.

What imran khan did on 9th april is way less what nawaz sharif did in 1999. As he clearly terminated musharraf and appointed someone else as COAS. He was arrested, jailed and exiled for good 6-7 years. Ultimately made to return as these FA pass goons understand only their interest which is american dollars. Whoever will bring more for them, they will side with him no matter who the person is

Like Imran, his supporters thinking is still limited to cricket. Both him and his supporters still give examples and metaphors of cricket.

Imran and his supporters are still high on the cricket euphoria and think they are playing a cricket match.

Joke of the century. :)))

If Imran wanted peace, he wouldn’t have spread hate and venom among the youth and he wouldn’t have been openly demanded his supporters to not pay taxes and bills when he was in the opposition.

Imran is destructive but due to his incompetence, arrogance and delusion, he has ended up self-destructing his political career.

If he respected the law, he wouldn’t have violated the constitution and the Supreme Court would have given a verdict in his favor.

Moreover, he refused to let go after being voted out and had to be dragged away by Bajwa’s men.

Imran humiliated himself and exposed himself as man who is desperate to hold onto power,

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday rejected the plea seeking to place the names of the former prime minister Imran Khan and ex-ministers on the Exit Control List (ECL) and an investigation into an alleged threat letter.

IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah issued a five-page long reserved verdict against the plea, while slapping a Rs100,000 fine on the petitioner.

The petition was filed by Maulvi Iqbal Haider.

He argued that the opposition parties had filed a no-confidence motion against then PM Imran Khan, on which Khan first remained silent and then showed a "threat letter" and said that a conspiracy had been hatched against his government.

Later, the prime minister revealed that the threatening message was from US Assistant Secretary of State for the South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu.

At the outset of today’s hearing, IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah asked the petitioner why he was politicising the issue? “It is the responsibility of the state,” he noted.

The US authorities rejected the letter, hence, the diplomatic cable should be investigated, pleaded the petitioner.

It would be like giving burglar your house keys.

You are exicted far too early, this is a test match, we are only on 2 day.

Exactly. Question is why will army establishment give him another chance. His anti constitutional acts and brinkmanship might make the army tentative.

I wonder why they're trying to run away from the country

Think you missed the point. They aren't running away, its the opposition thinking they will - probably because they would have done that themselves

For the country's sake, its better if elections do not happen.

If elections do happen, there is high chance those elections will not be free and fair. If the elections are not free and fair, imran is not gonna accept the results and there will be more fighting.

Even if the elections are free and fair, do you guys really expect Imran Khan will accept defeat? If PDM pulls off the numbers, Imran will still label the elections as being rigged.

Now in both cases, where pti does not win, crises could emerge where the whole country starts to burn due to civil disobedience because Pti has the street power. Street power is also good and dangerous aswell. Street power also does not mean you wil win the election.

The reason why I speculate the elections wont be free and fair is because of what transpired on april 9th.

Ecp, Sc and Ihc opened up at 10:00 pm reported by ary. Sc and Ecp made sense. What did not make sense was Ihc opening up. Ary also reported that a petition was also dubmited in Ihc which was basically asking, could the pm remove coas. At the time kashif abbasi bashed this that why would Ihc even open up and entertain sucha petition at night.

But further speculations showed that imran khans goal was to maybe delay the procceeding to a point where the army would be force to take over. Once army takes over they would have to get elections done. When Bajwa made no move, Imran decided to remove him. Now the remov was either to replaxe him with a crazy general that would pull off the coup or it was to make bajwa retaliate.

The COAS move was through the courts.. The whole plan failed.

Now before this happened. Coas was not in favour of Imran but he was also not against him either. He was neytral. But this whole event will make him against Imran.

Thus, if elections do take place within this year, they wont be free and fair most likely and results could be manuevered towards ppp or pmln. Which would result on chaos.

The goal is to get pdm fix the foreign affairs and economy. After 1.5, it is most likely Bajwa would retire, but i think he would make sure Faiz route to General is also blocked somehow.

Now a new COAS could be in favor of imran or against him. Cant be sure. Thus, there is no way Imran is gonna win these elections.

He should relax and come back after 1.5 years. Maybe Imran might never ever become pm. Who knows. How the army and establishment views him is all what matters now.

But right now the situation is as such there is no chance he can be made pm. Even if he is winning, the results will be manuevered against him. Its a waste to have an elections he needs to understand this.

Pakistan is in a foreign, diplomatic and an economic crises, they dont need a domestic crises.

Even if ECP can conduct elections they will lie and stall him..

The letter was fake and it will be found out that it was just Diplomat level muscle flexing. Lol at people thinking America will do a regime change in Pakistan. America even threatened India to not trade with Russia. America threatened India when India was not exporting vaccine for few months. So this bogus letter theory will come out and Imran will be jailed by Army. They feel threatened with his supporters who are standing behind him despite knowing the letter is as fake as it gets.

So you admit elections will be rigged in favour of PDM 😂😂🤣🤣

Major your selected and imported government is not going to last. Imran Khan is speaking the truth and will clean sweep your unholy alliance. You've been preaching a democratic process here for the past 2 weeks. Nothing is more democratic than elections. Maidan mein aaon, let the people choose. We are not beggars nor will the nation accept beggars and traitors at the helm.

The threat is real and the regime change has been successful! No institution wants to touch the letter because they know they're involved in the conspiracy.

Rather than blaming the people for "knowing the letter is fake" open your eyes and see who is celebrating and who is fighting for the people's right to choose

People here making establishment seem as they're invincible.

This is Pakistan and Pakistanis have won back democracy from the establishment many times before! We will not bow down to an imported and selected government

That’s why people need to be calm and rationale.

It’s not going to achieve anything by getting emotional and talking about boycotting Pakistan etc.

Imran and PTI have over 1 year left to plan and strategise to wrestle power back. No point crying over what has happened.

There is more than a good chance that this replacement government is going to stall and make little progress in such a small time frame and they will more than likely eat each other.

Imran can then make a comeback ,if he plans and strategises now. And that’s what his most vocal supporters should do too.

If elections are held during this year. They wont be free and fair. There is no way pti would be given power, establishment is not gonna let them.

Yes it can creat civil issues and no one wants that, hence there arnt gonna be any general elections...

They should have at least let Imran complete his tenure. This is a mockery of democracy. Let the elected government complete its term. Opposition will get their chance in the upcoming elections anyway.

They can create issues because they have the majority of people supporting them, it's that simple. Contrary to PDM supporters beliefs, the general public is very much standing behind Imran Khan. That will worry both the PDM and the establishment. I think they seriously underestimated the anger their clandestine moves will generate amongst the awaam.

IF IK resigned gracefully over a month ago without all this drama of conspiracy theories and hanging on to power, i think he could have worked and improved his relations with the army and come back but now its over, all the street power could not save bhutto when he got on the wrong side of the army nor will it for IK or anyone else.

Only a fool would pay any monies only for them to get into the hands of theives.

It would be like giving burglar your house keys.

You are exicted far too early, this is a test match, we are only on 2 day.

Still giving cricket references and examples. :91:

Imran and his supporters cannot help themselves - they don’t have the intellect to think beyond cricket.

Exactly my thoughts! The military is very incensed with Khan and it is possible that, if elections are held now, Imran will not be even allowed to become an MNA.

I have seen the petition submitted by military lawyer and it is clear that Imran fired Bajwa.

The public demonstration on Sunday night changed many perceptions in many quarters of the country. At the start it was implied that IK would be a pushover like previous governments but a leaderless crowd garnering massive uprising is an eye opener for many.

I truly support IK but even me after seeing Sunday nights protest feel that its too much power in one man's hand. I really hope sanity prevails and people get together.

I see elections happening in Aug/Sep. Even there are rumours in PMLN that they want to get their "priorities" done and head for elections.

PMLN would fasttrack the following after seeing the protests:
- Disband NAB and the cases registered against themselves and their party members
- Use LHC to dismiss charges against Nawaz and Maryam
- Take all Sharif members off ECL
- Bring Nawaz back to Pakistan for a photo album moment
- Everyone (including Shahbaz and Hamza) would fly out of Pakistan around next elections time

I can see IK returning to power very very soon. Within this month itself there would be rifts in PDM and rumour is that establishment has had a word with PMLN to dissolve assemblies in a month or two. Apparently there was another meeting last night between IK and a senior military figure.
