I thought it would have been great if the management would had promoted Shadab up the order. The moment Sarfaraz got out Pakistan still hadn't played the 25 overs and they went in with Asif Ali.I definitely support Asif Ali's inclusion in the team.He has to play as he is a match winner and right now Pakistan doesn't have many players like him.

The question now arises "Is Asif good enough to come in the 25th over ?".I personally feel he plays the fast/medium bowlers much better than the spinners and he should come to bat after the 35 over mark unless you are really dominating the game.

Shadab is a smart batsman and can play at a strike rate of 80.Although Shadab too had a great opportunity to show his talent with the bat against India but he failed to impress. He could have easily settled in as there were many overs left but just like every other batsman (barring Babar) he throwed his wicket away.

Thoughts?

That was s cardinal mistake. I thought shadab should have hv even come ahead of sarfaraz. The game was nicely poised when sarfaraz came to bat, had he stayed there for 10-12 overs we could hv easily crossed 230 which wouldn't hv been too bad a score on this pitch. Sarfaraz dismissal was the one that lost us the game ..

Absolutely. Considering how poor Sarfaraz's form has been of late,it would have been better to send in someone like Shadab.
I can see the management promoting Shadab over Asif in future games but not Sarfaraz.
The shot that Sarfaraz played at that crucial time was atrocious.I strongly believe that you will win most of your games if you score anything near or above 230 against this Indian side.

Couldn't agree more with you. It would have been a different story all together had we put our heads down while batting. I think the pressure got to our batsmen once Babar was going and that run out of Malik made it only worse. Asif Ali just couldn't handle it and let pressure got better of him. It was Maliks fault all the way as there was no single there but Malik made it look as it was Asif Ali who sold him the dumpy which only increased the pressure on Ali and in the process he lost his marbles..

They should bring in Haris at 3 and have Babar open, Imam is walking wicket so this will add a bit of stability.

no changes in the line up for now i think
I am not saying that the batting order is wrong. What I am trying to convey is that it can be improvised according to the match situation.England also do that.
If a situation comes when you need to play out 10 overs without taking any risk then you can or rather you should think of sending that batsman in who can play with patience.

The good thing is that this performance came in a dead rubber.Hopefully they will be much better prepared for Sunday.I will still back them to beat this Indian side.

Like many others I also am not a fan of having Imam in this team but the fact is that no matter what happens he will play this Asia Cup even if he fails in every single match because of the stats that he has due to minnow bashing. Thus I can't see that happening.
Haris should consider himself damn unlucky because he performed well in NZ.I do feel that Haris is an ideal batsman to come in at 3.Even opening with him isn't a bad option. He like fast bowling and arguably is the best player of fast bowling in this team.
Although I feel he is unlucky to miss out but I also feel that he himself is responsible for his ousting. He had the opportunity to convert those 50's into 100's in NZ but he failed. It is tough for the management to leave out a player who scores a ton.

Wajahatullah Wasti made an 80 odd while chasing in a WC semi final against a pretty decent NZ team. So, not a fair comparison

And that's the only thing he ever did.

He was a part of a team he had no business being in, the outlier.

That's what Imam is to me, an outlier.
