Hypothetically speaking.

Job A : Easy job, good salary, no benefits, job a litlte unsafe due to some temporary problems going on, salary on time, no potential for growth.

Job B : Moderate to Tough job, good salary + benefits, job unsafe because new in business (but the template for other sectors is stable for same company), salary on time, unknown potential for growth.

Would you stick to the current Job which is Job A or would you make the switch to Job B?

If you need to ask more about both jobs, please let me know.

I really need answers as soon as possible.

Im assuming you are currently doing job A and are thinking about Job B. My advice would be stick primarily with Job A for now, but also take up job B if they allow flexible hours and see how it goes.

Play it safe.

Depends on to what extent job B would improve your condition.

Basically what you are saying is that Job A and B are same except that Job B will give you benefits apart from the regular salary. At the same time Job A is stable and easy while job B is tougher and less secure.

I dont see why you should risk a stable good paying easy job A for job B just for the sake of some extra benefits unless you like to be adventurous and take on challenges.

"Straight roads never made a skilled driver".

I assume that you are at 35 max. So I suggest go for the job B. But,

It is also depends on your nature & current status. If you are already in a comfort zone financially & give your personal life more importance then continue your A. Not everyone has a crocodile skin as tough job environment does effect your personal behavior.

Job A; you only live life once. Dont create challenges if you dont have to. This is coming from someone who works in a job with a lot of uncertainties and stuff to learn. Life becomes hard with little social life. I want a cushy job as they say :) Inshallah :)

let us know about both jobs, but doesn't seem enough of an incentive to switch. I think you're waiting for Job C which is going to be a lot better.

Job B

I was in a similar situation (Job A). Made the choice to move on after 17 years, have not regretted the move one moment.

depends on your age; Job A is better if you are older

Disagree. While age plays a role in when one changes job (younger means one can take more risks), but as one gets elder, benefits and job security play a big role. Job A has no benefits and there is no potential for growth. Benefits are important as well as company stability at a later age.

However saying this I moved from Job A to Job B scenario, and my main reason was that Job A was not challenging enough (because I knew pretty much everything and was not learning anything new) and I was falling into a sense of false security. My workload did not challenge me mentality, and from a physical perspective, I was working from home more often. I wanted to keep my brain and body both active as I get older, hence I made the switch to Job B.

Depends on your age. If you are young (below 30s) and not married, always take the job that is more challenging. Without much liability, you can focus totally on job and learn the challenges it brings. If your first job is tough....you will find it much smooth later.

What do you mean "salary on time", aren't all employees supposed to pay you on time? Doesn't sound like a first world problem.

By the way I am 34 if it helps and I am married with a young daughter of 1.5 years.

If you're a legit medical doctor you can make a ton of dough if you moved to a western country, especially america plus there's no such thing as not being paid on time, that's illegal here unlike what's considered the norm in Pakistan/Dubai.

You must reside in a country where the ruler is Muslim unless absolutely necessary.

I don't think financial luxury constitutes as a necessity.

Take the job that suits economic needs.

I took a risk 3 months back and switched to Job B. I have 3 children. It is tough, but it’s getting better and better. My salary increased with almost 25%. Right now I feel it was a very good decision Alhamdulillah. I learn new things every day. The time just flies.

In the beginning I had to work a bit overtime but now I am almost back to normal hours, which is 37,5 hours a week. If you compare these hours with other countries they will laugh at me. People easily work 50-60 hours a week in other countries.

Salary is only a part of the whole package. It has to be an interesing job, with both routine work and challenges and the work environment needs to be good. What are you going to do with good salary if you don’t look forward to going to the job every day?

my dilemma is i am currently in a job that i have been in for 12 years, the job is easy now, progression is limited but pay has always been good. the flexibility of managing my own time, working from home when i want and also coming in late after dropping kids off at school. My issue is, how much of a pay increase would i need to move to another job to benefit me financially and personally. Starting a new job would not give me the flexibility i have now. Been offered a job that was 4k more than what i am currently on but i declined it.

It depends on if you have a live to work or work to live attitude.

Fortune favours the brave, and you only live once. I took Option B (in my case, setting up my own business and leaving behind a lucrative job I was bored of) many years ago. I was older than you, but havent regretted it even when times were hard.

My mantra is 'back yourself'. You can always go back to another Job A if Job B doesnt work out.

Good luck.
