In this thread, i will be giving updates all the scandals which will be starting against Imran Khan.

In past, first we saw character assassination, which failed badly.

Then Tosha Khana, failed badly.

Foreign Funding, failed badly.

Farah Gogi, failed badly.

Religious card, failed badly.

Many journalists, media channels, tried to make it as Imran Khan vs Establishment, but it failed too.

What do you think, what next from the industry of PDM?

They are running out options except to kill him.

The PTI chairman, in light of the alleged plot to kill him, said he has recorded a video and stored it in a "safe place" in which he has mentioned each and every character that was behind the "conspiracy" to oust his government.

"They (without specifying) have deiced to kill Imran Khan. And this is why I have recorded this video as I don't consider what I do as politics, but this is jihad to me," the PTI chairman said.

Khan said he has named everyone — the people who were involved in the "conspiracy" abroad and at home. "I have said in the video that the names of every person who conspired against my government are etched on my heart."

The PTI chairman said the reason behind his video was that in Pakistan, powerful people are not held accountable, thus, through this video, he will expose everyone who went "against the country's interest."

And today he have told in Jalsa that plans are being considered to kill me, and i have already recorded a video. If anything happens to me, video will be made public.

I am not surprised. I hope that every Sharif and Bhutto/Zardari is lynched along with Bajwa and his crooks if something happens to IK.

IK popularity is unparallel now just wait how he will smash them PDM, PMLN,PMLS,PPP blah blah has no future

People seem to be downplaying the aggressive tone of PDM and the very obvious indirect threats to Imran Khan and PTI members.

People need to remember IK challenged the Status Quo of Pakistan that has existed since the 80's.

All these crooks were going to be thrown in Jail and their assets/money reclaimed.

The most significant event of Pakistan in the last few decades these rival parties coming together to save their skin.

Thankfully it seems the public is largely aware and anti-PDM.

The big question is how the Army deals with the COAS

Bajwa is chief Martial Law administrator and he has one aim and that is to save the mafia on behalf of his paymasters. This is a fight to the death with the mafia including the Generals on the one side and IK and Pks on the other. There is no middle way

Maybe more false flag operations to malign PTI. PDM knows very well they're losing the PR war and will look for ways to gain public sympathy.

It pains me to say it but Our Generals are fully paid up members of the mafia. Bajwa is chief Martial Law administrator and he has one aim and that is to save the mafia on behalf of his paymasters. I don't believe the Army backs PDM. I think Bajwa knows which side his bread is buttered and in my opinion, there's an established leadership group within the Army hierarchy they makes big decisions

Unless there's a top down restructuring and crackdown on the Militsry leadership and Supreme Court, I don't know if there'll be meaningful change in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Following a heated debate and allegations between the PTI and the ruling PML-N over the foreign gifts received by the premiers, the government has decided to introduce a new policy on Toshakhana.

The new policy regarding Toshakhana is in the making and will be introduced in a month after which everything regarding gifts and their recipients will be made available to the general public, The News reported.

A senior official in the federal cabinet, on the condition of anonymity, said that authorities are about to introduce the new policy regarding Toshakhana, which will resolve all issues.

The government of Pakistan recently denied access to information regarding Toshakhana gifts to an applicant, claiming that the requested detail is ‘classified’. On April 28, the government issued a letter in response to a request regarding disclosure of information pertaining to gifts received by top leaders of Pakistan since 1947. In response to the request of Abuzar Salman Khan Niazi, the Cabinet Division wrote: “The requested information is classified and cannot be provided as per Clause-7 (f&g) and Clause 16 {1(a) (ii)} of the Rights of Access to Information Act 2017.’

Niazi, an advocate in Islamabad, had requested to seek details about all gifts received by the prime ministers and presidents of Pakistan since 1947. It was also requested that the market value of the gifts (prevalent at that time), assessed value of the gifts and amount paid by the recipients (presidents and prime ministers) be provided.

“A new transparent and fair policy is being developed in line with international best practices, which will be approved by the cabinet in about a month. The new policy will resolve all issues and reveal information regarding Toshakhana gifts and their recipients to all,” said a source.

The clauses mentioned in the response letter issued by the government state: “The minister in-charge of the federal government will have to record reasons as to why the harm from disclosure of information outweighs public interest and further that information pertaining to allegation of corruption and violation of human rights shall not be excluded”.

In October last, the Pakistan Information Commission, accepting a request, directed the Cabinet Division to provide the requested information about gifts received by then premier Imran Khan from foreign heads of states, heads of governments and other foreign dignitaries ‘description/specification of each gift, information about gifts retained by the prime minister and the rules under which the gifts were retained by him’. The Cabinet Division opposed the request, taking the stance before the PIC that this matter did not fall within the ambit of the Right of Access to Information Act 2017. Referring to a letter dated April 4, 1993, that had declared the details of Toshakhana classified, it had argued that the information could not be requisitioned under the Act.

Subsequently, the Cabinet Division challenged the order in a petition before the IHC in the same month, claiming that the PIC order was ‘illegal and without lawful authority’.

The Islamabad High Court also raised questions and grilled former government over reluctance to disclose details of gifts received by Imran Khan. Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb inquired from a government representative during the hearing why the restriction on making details public was applied to every gift? “What is the harm in making it public if some country has given a necklace as a gift?” Justice Aurangzeb questioned. “Why is the government facing embarrassment by not disclosing gifts received from other countries?” He said gifts received by rulers belonged to the nation and not to them, asking whether public officeholders would even receive those gifts if the public office did not exist.

The then opposition and today’s government unfolded gifts retained by Imran Khan as soon as it came to power. In the very first week of holding the PMO of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif said Imran Khan took gifts worth Rs 140 million from Toshakhana and sold them in Dubai.

A couple of days after this, all information regarding gifts received by Imran Khan and his spouse were revealed to the national media.

In response to this, Imran Khan said he retained gifts by making payments according to the law and it was his decision as they were his gifts.

Established in 1974, Toshakhana is a department under the administrative control of the Cabinet Division and stores precious gifts given to rulers, parliamentarians, bureaucrats and officials by heads of other governments and states and foreign dignitaries as a goodwill gesture. It has valuables ranging from bulletproof cars, gold-plated souvenirs and expensive paintings to watches, ornaments, rugs and swords.

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz has said that “strict action” should be taken against former prime minister Imran Khan for “blackmailing” former NAB chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal through objectionable videos.

In response to PTI’s criticism over amendments to NAB law, the ruling party leader said those who were raising hue and cry over the changes in the accountability laws targeted their political opponents by blackmailing the former NAB chief.

“He [Imran Khan] tricked Tayyaba and kept her at Prime Minister House for weeks. Took videos of chairman NAB from her then blackmailed him through these videos to get verdicts of their choice,” she wrote on her official Twitter handle on Tuesday.

In May 2019, the audio and video clips relating to the alleged conduct of the then NAB chairman with regard to a woman identified as Tayyaba Khatun facing investigation by NAB authorities had taken politico-media by storm.

The anti-graft watchdog had rebutted the allegations.

Tayyaba had lodged a complaint with Pakistan Citizen Portal (PCP) alleging that the then “chairman NAB is harassing me [and] my family. He is making fake cases against me and my husband just because I didn’t make any relation wid [with] him. NAB is threatening me. I am a law student. How he disrespect a woman like this. He is a morally ill person. I have all vdos [videos] and audio recordings against him; I am attaching some screenshots of videos”.

Nani and her obsession with videos. The fact that chairman of NAB never prosecuted any of the mafia should tell you who was blackmailing him.

She is lying as usual. NSC refuted her comments about the foreign letter being a lie, still thief government allows her to talk and cancel army veterans pension and other benefits.

Instead of getting state level protocol, she should be in jail and more cases should be opened against her for corruption, defamation, money laundering, orchestrating Dawn leaks and attacking NAB.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday formed a committee to formulate and propose a new Toshakhana policy.

This was announced by Secretary Cabinet Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera in a tweet along with a notification of Cabinet Division dated June 24.

As per the notification, the following Terms of Reference (ToRs) have been specified for the committee:

The committee will holistically review/revisit the ‘Procedure for the Acceptance and Disposal of Gifts, 2018’ and prepare a new draft.
The draft should be more open and transparent with appropriate provisions for de-classification.
The new Toshakhana Procedure should be in the light of requirements of transparency and international best practices.
The committee will submit its report to the prime minister within a period of one month.
The Cabinet Division will provide Secretariat support to the committee.
The committee comprises 12 members including the Minister for Defence as the Convener, and the Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division as the Secretary to the Committee.

Other members include Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) Syed Tariq Fatemi; the Ministers for Commerce, and Law and Justice; the Secretaries of the Cabinet Division and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Law and Justice, and Information and Broadcasting; Khawaja Zaheer Ahmed and the former DG of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) Aftab Sultan.

The Toshakhana case hit the headlines last year, after the PIC accepted an application on the matter and directed the Cabinet Division to provide the information about the gifts received by the then prime minister, Imran Khan from foreign dignitaries.

However, the Cabinet Division challenged the PIC order in the IHC, claiming that it was "illegal". The then government took the position that the disclosure of any information related to Toshakhana might jeopardise Pakistan’s international relations.

Why doesn't this bumbling puppet actually publish all gifts taken over the last 70 years. I wonder what's stopping them?

New Toshakhana policy in September
Official says the new Toshakhana policy would be radically better than the previous one in terms of fairness and transparency

ISLAMABAD: A new policy regarding Toshakhana is in its final phases with a new set of rules which will be introduced in September, The News has learned.

The decision to improvise the Toshakhana policy was taken by the government of Shehbaz Sharif to maintain transparency and make every gift retained by government officials public and accessible to all.

In addition, it has been learned that the policy will contain a new set of rules regarding the gift retaining procedure if any official desires to keep it.

Talking to this correspondent, a senior official of the Cabinet Division said: “The government will introduce the new policy regarding Toshakhana in September. The first meeting on the policy has been held and the second will be held next week to finalise proposals.” The official said the new policy would be radically better than the previous one in terms of fairness and transparency.

When questioned if any punishment or action was being discussed under the new policy to ensure its proper implementation, the official replied that it would be difficult to answer at this stage as a lot of things were under discussion and they could only be disclosed when finalised.

The News had earlier reported that this new ‘transparent and fair’ policy was being developed in line with international best practices. The policy would resolve all issues and reveal information regarding Toshakhana gifts and their recipients to all.

I think they should release all the TKs taken since 1947. Who could possibly object?

The current government is just absolutely terrible and their inability to turn the ship around has further shed light on the absolutely ridiculous judgment of the military establishment, who overthrew the IK government to bring on these fools, hoping they would be better at turning the economic situation around. Well guess what?

THEY ARE TOO BUSY doing the following:
1. Harassing and terrorizing the PTI workers and supporters
2. Trying to stifle and suppress freedom of speech
3. Levelling accusations against the former government
4. Dismissing cases against them and making NAB impotent
5. Throwing massive parties for the journalists, taking them overseas, Umra, etc
6. Spending millions on hiring bloated cabinet ministers, renovating official residences, building swimming pools
7. Unsuccessfully begging Saudis, Turkey, etc rather than improving exports

Keep adding to this list: I am sure there is a lot more going on that we know of.

I was depressed at the outcome of the VONC and when IK was overthrown but in hindsight the outcome proved to be a blessing in disguise for IK and PTI. For 3.5 years, PTI and IK were harraassed by the PDM opposition for being incompetent, nahail but the PDM in the last 3-4 since they took over have broken all records of incompetence and nahaily and in comparison IK and PTI now look very favourably i.e. they actually did not do as bad a job as people thought during their tenure.

In the open market the Rp is at 250. When IK left it was 178 and that was only because they created the uncertainty, the average before was in the 174 range. These corrupt things have quite literally destroyed a fragile economy because Bajwa gave them the carrot of NAB being gutted, overseas voting being stopped and stopping Gen Faiz Hameed from being COAS. So for purely selfish reasons the crooks in the Millitary elite and the mafia have destroyed PK economy. Its position that I don't think we can ever recover from. Maybe that was the plan along.

Toshakhana reference hearing from 18th
Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja will begin hearing the Toshakhana reference against PTI Chairman Imran Khan from Aug 18

ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja will begin hearing of the Toshakhana reference against PTI Chairman Imran Khan from Aug 18.

Last Thursday, National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf had sent the reference to ECP after taking the PDM leadership, including former president Asif Zardari and Shehbaz Sharif, into confidence.

It is expected that the ECP full court would announce verdict on the reference in the light of Article 63 of the Constitution with few weeks.

When contacted, former secretary of the Election Commission of Pakistan Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad said that the ECP was bound to announce its decision in the reference within a month. He said the ECP had received the reference on Aug 4 and it was binding on it to decide the case by Sept 3, 2022.

He said the ECP would examine annual returns filed by Imran Khan to see if they included the Tosha Khana assets. In case, he said, these assets were not included in the annual statements, it would fall into the category of corrupt practices. In that case, he said the ECP full court was authorised to act on its own under the law against Imran Khan.

According to Mohsin Nawaz Ranjha, Imran Khan had not mentioned in the returns filed with the ECP in 2018-19 watches gifted by Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman worth over Rs100 million.

How can be declared as assets if the money used from the sale went in to making a road?
Furthermore the house he lives is in a trust which will be donated to charity so again who on earth would declare this as an asset?

If this doesn't show that the ECP is corrupt then what does?

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is all set to start regular hearing of the Toshakhana Reference against PTI Chairman Imran Khan, sent under articles 62A, 63A and 223 by the Speaker National Assembly here on Thursday (today). The ECP has already notified the PTI chairman who would be represented by his legal team.

The ECP issued a cause list to hear the Toshakhana reference against PTI Chairman Imran Khan Niazi under Law/2022 (5) 12 on Aug 18 (today). The disqualification reference has been field by Ali Gohar Khan, PMLN’s Mohsin Nawaz Ranjha and five others under Article 63. The reference will be taken up by ECP’s full court presided by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja and comprising Member Sindh Justice (retd) Nisar Durrani, KP’s Justice (retd) Ikramullah, Balochistan’s Justice (retd) Shah Mohammad Jatoi and former federal secretary Babar Bharwana.

The ECP’s full bench would scrutinise the annual statements of assets submitted by PTI chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan. If the ECP establishes that the former PM has not submitted the details of gifts worth Rs15 crore, wilful concealment would be considered a corrupt practice and thereby it would allow the ECP to conduct disqualification proceedings against the PTI chairman.

According to PMLN MNA Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha, Imran Khan concealed information about the gift of watches by Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman in his statement of assets submitted in 2018-2019. This withholding of information is tantamount to lying which, according to MNA Mohsin Ranjha, is a crime under Section 137 declaring that Imran Khan is no more Sadiq and Ameen, slapping disqualification for life from contesting election under Article 62(1)(f), Article 2, Article 3 of the Constitution. The Article 62(1)(f) is the same legal instrument that disqualified former PM Nawaz Sharif from contesting elections and led to his removal from power, Ranjha says.

The ECP Full Court would seek replies to the accusation of concealing information from PTI Chairman Imran Khan through his legal team and by Sept 2022, the ECP would give its verdict on declaring him disqualified or not from contesting polls.

According to former secretary ECP Kanwar Dilshad, the ECP is bound to give a verdict on the Speaker’s reference within 30 days, followed by filing of appeal by the defendant within 30 days. Thereafter, the Supreme Court is bound to give a verdict within 90 days of filing of the appeal under the Constitution.

According to an earlier ruling by the Islamabad High Court judge Justice Mian Gul Aurangzeb, the Toshakhana gifts to a political personality or official by a foreign government need to be deposited to the Toshakhana. He said the ECP can seek report from the Cabinet Division on the gifts of Toshakhana and can seek record of the gifts mentioned in the reference.

"Khan talking about media freedom is no less than a joke," Aurangzeb said while addressing a press conference. in the federal capital.

Recalling that during PTI’s tenure journalists were tortured and programmes were suspended, she said: “Several international media watch international organisations had called Khan a ‘predator’ and black laws against media were formed under his tenure.”

"His 'rented' media team spread propaganda against media," she maintained.

The information minister said that Khan was the prime minister when Absar Alam, Asad Toor, Asma Sherazi, Gharida Farooqui, Nusrat Javed, and Matiullah Jan were attacked.

She went on to highlight that during Khan’s tenure as prime minister programmes of renowned journalists Amber Shamsi, Hamid Mir, Talat Hussain, Iftikhar Ahmed, Najam Sethi, and Murtaza Solangi were also suspended.

'Imran Khan should be arrested'

Taking a jibe at Khan’s comments regarding the “flawed” justice system in the country, Aurangzeb said that when all power should be held accountable then the PTI chairperson should also be summoned in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

“Khan is not appearing before the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and he should be arrested,” Aurangzeb maintained.

“It was in Khan’s tenure that Amnesty International highlighted the corruption in Pakistan,” she said, adding that the organisation noted that historic corruption was seen during the period of PTI’s government.

Shahbaz Gill's case

Regarding Shahbaz Gill’s case, she highlighted that during Khan’s tenure then Opposition members were arrested twice for every allegation.

“Nawaz Sharif was handcuffed in front of his daughter Maryam Nawaz, and cases were registered against 90-year-old mother of Javed Latif,” she said while highlighting the wrongdoings of the previous government.

Kashif Abbasi in yesterdays Off The Record show demolished this chor khandaans nurse's hypocritical and full of lies press conference.

Fake cases, election rigging, buying ECP, deliberately inducing hear attacks of NAB officers investigating their corruption, abuse and torture of journalists and academics like Ayaz Amir, illegally blocking ARY in contempt of high court orders and torture and bullying of Shehbaz Gill while real traitors who actually abused Pak army roam around with taxpayer funded protocol. Rana qatil being earlier law and now minister is an insult to Pakistans stature. Kashif rightly pointed out that chor nurse should have some shame before spouting such lies with a straight face.

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) would investigate reports about submission of replicas of gifts received by the dignitaries from foreign leaders in the Toshakhana, committee Chairman Noor Alam Khan disclosed on Thursday.

Charing a PAC meeting and later talking to media at the Parliament House, Khan said that the gifts stored in the Toshakhana were memorabilia, and these should not be displayed in Bazaars. Khan also ordered the relevant authorities to urgently submit record of Toshakhana items auctioned over the last four years.

“It is learnt that replicas were deposited in the Toshakhana and it will be investigated,” Khan told reporters after the PAC meeting. “The relevant departments are not providing documents…they are not doing their jobs. We have to stop these mafias,” he added.

During the meeting, PAC urgently sought record of items auctioned from Toshakhana in the last four years. “Whether it is a watch or a necklace that has been sold, the auditor general should provide a record of auctioned goods in the last four years,” Noor Alam Khan said.

The committee expressed its displeasure with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for not submitting the tax details of the industries in the former Federally-Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) and the former Provincial-Administered Tribal Areas (Pata).

FBR Chairman Asim Ahmed, who attended the meeting via a video link due to Covid-19, said he had written a letter to the committee regarding the tax exemptions granted to the industries in the former tribal areas – former Fata and Pata.

Committee member Malik Mukhtar Ahmed raised the issue of security of the FBR data. He said that the FBR was using a pirated version of computer software. “We have checked that the software of the FBR is secure,” the FBR chairman replied.

The committee directed the FBR to send tax details of companies producing oil, ghee, garments and other goods in Fata and Pata to the PAC. Khan told the FBR chairman that some of his staff did not take the committee seriously. “I am not happy today, I need all the documents in the next meeting,” he observed.

Khan told the FBR chief to provide details of Karachi and Peshawar dry port. He pointed out that $127 million was given to install scanners at Torkham, Chaman and Wagah border points, but these had still not being used yet. He also sought a written response on the matter.

During the meeting, the PAC chairman expressed his anguish at the recent hike in the prices of petroleum products. “For the love of God,” he addressed Petroleum Secretary Ali Raza Bhutta, reduce the petrol price. “Have mercy on the people.”

He also raised question about the quality of petrol being provided by the state utility, the Pakistan State Oil (PSO). He further asked the petroleum secretary to restore the gas connections immediately and review the hefty salaries of the heads and board members of the gas companies.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday directed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to submit his reply in the Toshakhana case by September 7.

PTI chief’s counsel Barrister Gohar appeared before the ECP earlier today, where Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja heard the case, and pleaded for a week’s time to file Imran's reply in the case.

Gohar contended that the former premier’s lawyer Barrister Ali Zafar is in Lahore and he was unable to consult him regarding the case. He furthered that he will try his best to submit the reply in the next hearing.

To this, the CEC replied that everything was part of the record and that it shouldn’t take so much time to submit the reply.

However, the PTI chief was granted more time and the hearing was adjourned until September 7.

The Toshakhana case was brought before the electoral watchdog last year after the Pakistan Information Commission (PIC) accepted an application on the matter and directed the Cabinet Division to provide information about the gifts received by the then-prime minister Imran Khan from foreign dignitaries.

However, the Cabinet Division had challenged the PIC order in the Islamabad High Court, claiming that it was "illegal". The then government took the position that the disclosure of any information related to Toshakhana might jeopardise Pakistan’s international relations.

Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has revealed that a conspiracy is being hatched to have him declared ineligible to contest elections, saying that four people sat in a closed room and conspired against him.

Addressing a rally in Sargodha, Imran said, “I have recorded a tape containing the names of four people who conspired against and planned to have my government declared ineligible.”

Without naming anyone, Imran said: “If anything happens to me, that tape will come before the public and then the public will not leave those four people.”

He said that they made the ineligibility plan after seeing the results of the Punjab election because now they know that the people will make the PTI successful with a two-thirds majority in the general elections. “They are trying to implement the plan by working with Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, but I can give it in writing that they will fail.”

The PTI chairman said that the government filed blasphemy cases against them after the incident of Masjid-e-Nabawi (Peace Be Upon Him) and then filed terrorism cases, which brought Pakistan into disrepute around the world because his story was on the front pages of international organisations and newspapers which had never appeared before.

Imran said, “Now, they are coming towards Toshakha.

“I also want the Toshakha case to be conducted in an open hearing and then the details of the gifts given to Zardari, Nawaz Sharif, Yusuf Raza Gilani will come before the people and they will know how much who has benefited and harmed the country.”

Replying to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the Toshakhana reference, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan claimed on Wednesday that the case was ‘misleading, baseless and false’.

The electoral watchdog heard the case seeking Imran’s disqualification for not declaring in his assets the gifts received during his time in the prime minister's office. The former premier’s lawyers Barrister Ali Zafar and Barrister Gohar appeared before the ECP and submitted Imran’s 60-page reply to the commission.

Imran’s statement maintained that he had not hidden any assets and urged the ECP to drop the reference. He also stated that Article 62(f) of the Constitution – which states that a member of parliament must be "sadiq and ameen" (honest and righteous) – was not applicable for the case against him.

The reply to the ECP stated that during his three-and-a-half-year tenure, he received 329 gifts including watches, pens, decoration pieces, small carpets, table mats, perfumes, tasbih (prayer beads), and works of art. From these, 58 gifts were received by Imran Khan and his wife, and only 14 were worth more than Rs30,000.

“All gifts are mentioned in tax returns and details of assets and the amount of purchase of gifts is shown as an expense in the statements,” his reply furthered.

According to the reply, four units of the Toshakhana gifts were sold, and gifts were bought through payment of more than Rs20 million.

“More than Rs5.8 million worth of gifts sold are shown in the assets,” he claimed, adding that he had not hidden any assets.

“No member of the National Assembly has declared mobiles, watches, shoes and other such items as assets till date,” he alleged.

The reply further stated that gifts sold after June 30, 2019, were not disclosed in this year's returns, and that gifts received in the financial year 2021-2022 would be disclosed in the current year's returns.

During the hearing, Barrister Ali Zafar said that the NA speaker had said that a case of disqualification was made under Article 63(2), while in the reference, disqualification has been sought under Article 62(1)(f).

Ali Zafar argued that the ECP could not hear the case under Article 62(1)(f) in proceedings of Article 63, adding that Article 62(1)(f) could be applied only by a court, not by the commission.

The chief election commissioner replied that if the barrister wanted to challenge the jurisdiction of the commission, he should file a separate application.

The ECP adjourned the hearing till September 19.

‘Not sadiq or ameen’

After the hearing, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Barrister Mohsin Shah Nawaz Ranjha spoke to media personnel outside the ECP and said that Imran Khan's receipts for Rs29 million in the Toshakhana reference were part of the records.

He questioned how the former premier had such few receipts.

He claimed that Imran had hidden the entire Toshkhana and that it was high time that he gives an account of it to the nation.

“Imran Khan is now neither sadiq nor ameen,” Ranjha said.

Ex-premier Imran sold four foreign gifts, ECP told

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan on Wednesday submitted a reply to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the Toshakhana case against him wherein he admitted to having sold at least four presents he had received during his tenure as the prime minister of Pakistan.

The former premier maintained that the sale of the gifts that he had procured from the state treasury after paying Rs21.56 million fetched about Rs58 million. One of the gifts included a graff wristwatch, a pair of cuff links, an expensive pen and a ring while the other three gifts included four Rolex watches.

From July 2018 to June 2019, Imran Khan received a total of 31 gifts and paid for only four as under the rules any gift below the assessed value of Rs 30,000 can be retained without any payment.

From July 2019 to June 2020, he received nine gifts and paid an amount of Rs 1.71 million for three of them. He claimed to have gifted these presents to some undisclosed individuals. One of the gifts included a box containing a gold and diamond locket, a pair of ear tops (gold and diamond) and a diamond ring. He deposited Rs 0.544 million to purchase this jewellery.

PTI chief’s lawyer terms Toshakhana reference ‘politically motivated’

From July 2020 to June 2021, he received 12 gifts and paid an amount of Rs12.90 million for five of these. From July 2021 to June 2022, he received six gifts and paid Rs3.10 million for two of the presents.

Mr Khan further said that as many as 329 gifts were received by different functionaries during his tenure; out of which 58 gifts, including vases, art pieces, lockets, and decorative items, were presented to him and his spouse Bushra Bibi between August 01, 2018, and December 31, 2021. Out of all these gifts, there were only 14 items worth more than Rs 30,000, which he bought by paying money as per the regular procedure.

‘Quash the reference’

Barrister Ali Zafar, who is representing the PTI chief, urged the five-member ECP bench to quash the reference against the former premier as he termed it a “misleading” case based on “mala fide intentions and political motives”. The reference was the misuse of power and the Constitution, the response added.

During the hearing, Mr Zafar said that as per the NA speaker, the disqualification case was to be made under Article 63(2), while in the reference sent to the ECP, Imran Khan’s disqualification had been sought under Article 62(1)(f). He emphasised that the ECP could not hear the case under Article 62(1)(f) in proceedings of Article 63, adding that Article 62(1)(f) could only be applied by a court, not by the commission. To this, the ECP bench said that if the lawyer wanted to challenge the jurisdiction of the election watchdog, then he may file a separate application.

In Aug this year, National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf sent the reference to the ECP, seeking Imran Khan’s disqualification in the light of the Toshakhana case. The reference contended that Imran Khan did not disclose the details of gifts taken from Toshakhana and the amount received from the sale of these gifts.

However, the reply responded to these allegations and said that no member of the National Assembly declared mobiles, watches, shoes, and other such items as assets till date to the commission. The reply added that the four gifts were sold during the 2018-19 financial year and the respondent did not have those gifts by June 30, 2019. “Therefore, those were not mentioned by name in the statement of assets filed on Dec 31, 2019. However, the sale amount was received in [a] Bank Alfalah account and that amount was duly mentioned,” the response added. Moreover, the total cost of gifts standing at Rs21,226,000 was paid by the respondent and declared in the tax return for the year 2019, it added.

According to the response, the reference was not competent in the first place as no reference under Article 63(2) of the Constitution could be referred to the commission unless one or more of the “sixteen questions” are involved. Those “questions” are contained in Article 63(1)(a) to Article 63(1)(p), it added.

“Since none of those questions are involved and not even barely referred to in the titled reference; therefore, the reference is utterly baseless and misconceived,” the reply stated, asking the ECP to dismiss the case.

PTI to move court against Maryam for ‘accusing Imran of blasphemy’

LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) says it will take legal action against PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz for what it calls her ‘controversial’ social media campaign accusing PTI Chairman Imran Khan of blasphemy that may endanger his life.

Maryam Nawaz on Monday uploaded two purported statements of Imran Khan and as many verses of Quran on her Twitter account to draw comparison between them. She also tweeted saying: “This man (Imran) is using religion for his politics and promoting his false narrative. Save your faith and the country from this satan.”

According to the PTI, after Maryam’s tweet, a trend on Twitter against Imran Khan accusing him of blasphemy followed with over 65,000 tweets targeting the PTI chairman. There were also tweets critical of Ms Nawaz suggesting her not to drag religion into politics that might endanger someone’s life.

“We will not let this matter go unnoticed. Legal action will be taken against Maryam Nawaz for using the tool of blasphemy to endanger the life of the PTI chairman,” PTI’s senior leader Fawad Chaudhry declared.

In a talk with Dawn on Monday, Mr Chaudhry said: “The coalition government is probably the only government that is using blasphemy laws against political opponents blatantly. Using religion cards is the most blatant attempt to physically eliminate political opponents and Maryam Nawaz and Fazlur Rehnan are creating this web to physically eliminate Imran Khan.”

He said Maryam Nawaz was behind such trends on the social media.

Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal chided the ousted premier asking for a licence given to Imran Khan for speaking whatever came to his mind.

“This man does not care while speaking on religious matters and often insults religious signs like he does in the case of his political opponents,” Iqbal said in a tweet and added self love, selfishness and ignorance had made Imran’s mind numb.

Federal Information Minister Marriyum Auranzeb said in a tweet that Imran Khan was a narcissist and such a person was dangerous (for the country).

Leaders of the PTI on Wednesday lambasted the coalition government — particularly the PML-N — for "using religion to instil and spread hatred" against party chief and former prime minister Imran Khan.

"PML-N is running an organised and planned campaign to make Imran Khan controversial [for the people]," former religious affairs minister Noorul Haq Qadri said at a press conference in Islamabad, alongside fellow PTI leaders Asad Qaiser and Iftikhar Durrani.

His comments came hours after PML-N leader Javed Latif, in a press conference, accused the PTI chief of "attacking the basic principles of Islam" by "supporting" the Ahmediyya community during his tenure.

"When Imran made the Naya Pakistan, units of Qadianis became active in Karachi [...] Did Imran not give interviews to the foreign media in which he said that Qadianis will be given religious freedom," Latif said.

Condemning Latif's remarks, Qadri said: "When I joined Imran Khan, it was not just for his political ideology but also his religious ideology," he said, recalling that the policies formed during the PTI government's tenure were proof of his love and respect toward the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Qadri went on to say that the "war being waged by the government was very dangerous as it would create divisions and violence". "These are the people who want to spread hatred and chaos in the land," he added.

Similarly, former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser said that Latif's statements today were aimed at instigating religious hatred among the people. "This is condemnable."

Imran, he said, was currently at the height of his popularity. "PTI is the only party which signifies unity today because it has members from all religious sects and cultures," he said.

"Today, we are here to tell you that when we were in the government, and even today, you have seen our work for upholding Islam and the Prophet (PBUH)," Qaiser added.

Meanwhile, former federal minister Iftikhar Durrani said that the government was violating the National Action Plan and Constitution by spreading "religious hatred".

"Today, the incumbent government is complicit in this crime through Javed Latif. I seriously condemn it. The foundation of the PML-N is based on dictatorship [...] they have never fought any battle through democracy.

"Whenever their political opponents become powerful, they always indulge in personal attacks. A similar attack was done today and it was an escalation," Durrani pointed out.

He recalled that PML-N had always levelled personal attacks at Imran. "And this shows that the PDM (Pakistan Democratic Party) has lost."

The PTI leader also castigated the chairman of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) for not stopping television channels from airing Latif's press conference.

"I request all the channels that aired this presser: a very dangerous and heinous game is being played and PML-N has several people to play it. Latif is one of them."

Furthermore, Durrani told the PML-N that he handled the media of PTI and warned that "if I start doing these things, you won't be able to leave your houses".

"But this is not what we have been taught. We have been taught to fight you on political grounds. We have not been taught to make personal attacks," he added.

Earlier this week, PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz uploaded two purported statements of Imran Khan on her Twitter account.

There were also tweets critical of Maryam suggesting her not to drag religion into politics that might endanger someone’s life.

Iqbal cautions colleague against using religion card
'Politely' urges colleague to refrain from 'playing on Imran's wicket'

LAHORE:
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal condemned his fellow cabinet colleague, Javed Latif, for his remarks against former prime minister Imran Khan at a press conference, saying that the religion card should not be used against political opponents.

In a carefully-worded tweet, Iqbal, a senior leader of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), reacted to Latif’s remarks, which drew public criticism for inciting hatred against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman.

“Javed Latif is my colleague but I will say politely if Imran is playing the religion card then we should not play on his wicket he has to compete with politics he has nothing to show,” Iqbal said. “I have a bullet of hate in my body that prevents me from using the religious card to humiliate my opponents in politics.”

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz also spoke against using the religion card in politics. However, her focus was on criticising Imran Khan for using religion cards against her party and stopped short of even mentioning Javed Latif.

Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Javed Latif on Monday were booked for inciting violence and religious hatred against former premier and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

The case has been registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act in Lahore, Punjab.

Punjab Home Minister Col (retd) Hashim Dogar said in a statement on Twitter that a case of terrorism has been registered against the two PML-N leaders.

“A case under ATA 9/11X3 has been registered against Javed Latif, Marriyum Aurangzeb, MD PTV Rashid Baig and the program producer at the Green Town police station in the city’s Ahoor area,” Dogar said in the tweet.

The minister further said that inciting religious hatred and violence against any citizen including the PTI chief will not be allowed.

‘Weaponising’ religion against Imran

Earlier, the PTI blasted the government for drawing battle lines over religion against their chairman through a "systematic campaign".

Leaders of the PTI laced in the PML-N-led coalition government for 'weaponising religion' to instil and spread hatred against the party chief.

Similarly, the coalition government — mainly PML-N — also came under fire on Twitter for trying to turn Imran into a "boogeyman" for the masses by "spewing venomous" propaganda against him. They also expressed shock at the airing of such incendiary speeches on national television channels.

The reaction came hours after Latif, in a press conference, accused the PTI chief of “attacking the basic principles of Islam” by “supporting” the Ahmediyya community during his tenure.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday reserved its verdict in the Toshakhana disqualification reference filed against former prime minister Imran Khan.

The reference was filed against the PTI chairman by the coalition government, for “not sharing details” of Toshakhana gifts and proceeds from their alleged sale.

Established in 1974, the Tosha*khana is a department under the administrative control of the Cabinet Division and stores precious gifts given to rulers, parliamentarians, bureaucrats, and officials by heads of other governments and states and foreign dignitaries.

According to Toshakhana rules, gifts/presents and other such materials received by persons to whom these rules apply shall be reported to the Cabinet Division.

However, the PTI, while in government, had been reluctant to disclose details of the gifts presented to Imran Khan since he assumed office in 2018, maintaining that doing so would jeopardise international ties, even as the Pakistan Infor*mation Commission (PIC) ordered it to do so.

On August 4, lawmakers from the Pakistan Democratic Movement — which is part of the ruling alliance — filed a reference for the PTI chief’s disqualification from public office under articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution over his hesitance to share the details of Toshakhana gifts.

They submitted the reference to the NA speaker who subsequently forwarded it to the Chief Election Commissioner Sikander Sultan Raja for further action.

In its hearing on Aug 29, the ECP had sought a written reply from Imran by Sep 8. In his reply, the PTI chief had admitted to have sold at least four presents he had received during his tenure as the prime minister of Pakistan.

The former premier, in his reply, maintained that the sale of the gifts that he had procured from the state treasury after paying Rs21.56 million fetched about Rs58 million. One of the gifts included a graff wristwatch, a pair of cuff links, an expensive pen and a ring while the other three gifts included four Rolex watches.

However, during the hearing today, PML-N counsel Khalid Ishaq said Imran was asked about reasons for not declaring the gifts. But, in his reply, the PTI chief admitted to receiving the gifts as well as not disclosing them.

He quoted the PTI chief as saying in his response that he did not declare items of daily necessities.

“One cufflink that Imran did not declare is priced at Rs5.7 million,” Ishaq said.

ECP member from Sindh, Nisar Durrani, said it was possible that a mistake might have been made in the declaration of assets.

To this, the PML-N counsel responded that in that case, the mistake should be acknowledged.

For his part, Imran’s counsel Barrister Ali Zafar said that Ashraf had earlier claimed that he had “concrete proof” to pave way for the disqualification of the PTI, however, he had instead referred to asset declaration by Imran from 2017 and 2018.

The lawyer said he would prove that Imran had declared all the gifts as required under the law to be revealed.

Zafar said it was not the ECP’s mandate to decide about the honesty of a leader.

At this, Justice retired Ikramullah Khan, the ECP member from KP, wondered if the election commission could take action if someone was dishonest.

Meanwhile, Babar Hassan Bharwana, the ECP member from Punjab, questioned why a reference was forwarded to the electoral body if the commission was not empowered to do anything.

At one point during the hearing, PML-N’s counsel Ishaq said Imran had provided the receipts of his London flat but did not provide the same for gifts he had received.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the ECP reserved the verdict in the case.

In the last hearing, Barrister Zafar had urged the five-member ECP bench, headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja, to quash the reference against the former premier, terming it a “misleading” case based on “mala fide intentions and political motives”.

The reference
The reference against Imran was filed by MNA Barrister Mohsin Nawaz Ranjha carrying signatures of lawmakers Agha Hassan Baloch, Salahudeen Ayubi, Ali Gohar Khan, Syed Rafiullah Agha and Saad Waseem Sheikh and it was subsequently forwarded to the CEC Raja through the National Assembly speaker.

The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is confident Imran Khan is going to be disqualified in the reference as they say he has not declared in his assets the amount he received from the alleged sale of state gifts.

In their disqualification reference, MNAs from the ruling alliance included documentary evidence to corroborate their claims against the ex-PM and sought his disqualification under Sections 2 and 3 of Article 63 of the Constitution, read with Article 62(1)(f).

Article 62(1)(f) says: “A person shall not be qualified to be elected or chosen as a member of Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament) unless […] he is sagacious, righteous and non-profligate, honest and ameen, there being no declaration to the contrary by a court of law.”

Article 63(2) says: “If any question arises whether a member of Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament) has become disqualified from being a member, the Speaker or, as the case may be, the Chairman shall, unless he decides that no such question has arisen, refer the question to the Election Commission within thirty days and should he fail to do so within the aforesaid period it shall be deemed to have been referred to the Election Commission.”

While, Article 63(3) reads: “The Election Commission shall decide the question within ninety days from its receipt or deemed to have been received and if it is of the opinion that the member has become disqualified, he shall cease to be a member and his seat shall become vacant.”

The Toshakhana case

Last year, the Pakistan Information Commission had accepted an application by Islamabad-based journalist Rana Abrar Khalid and directed the Cabinet Division to “provide the requested information about the gifts received by Prime Minister Imran Khan from foreign head of states, head of governments and other foreign dignitaries … description/specification of each gift, information about the gifts retained by the PM and the Rules under which gifts thus received are retained by him”.

The Cabinet Division was told to share the required information within 10 working days and upload it on the official website as well.

Subsequently, the Cabinet Division had challenged the PIC order in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), claiming that it was “illegal, without lawful authority”. The then-government took the stance that the dis*closure of any information rela*ted to Toshakhana jeopardises international ties.

In April this year, the IHC had directed Deputy Attorney General Arshad Kayani to ensure the implementation of the PIC order to publicise details of the gifts presented to former prime minister Imran Khan by heads of states since he assumed office in August 2018.

ECP to formally hear KP by-poll code violations
Separately, the ECP decided to formally hear the alleged violations of its by-poll code of conduct by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and his cabinet members.

It directed that notices be issued to the parties concerned.

The CEC ordered the KP chief secretary and advocate general to remind the provincial government that any code violations would not be tolerated.

“The Election Commission will ensure equal opportunities to all candidates in the by-elections,” he said, further warning that indiscriminate action would be taken against all parties in case of any violation.

The ECP said it would be forced to delay the by-elections if the provincial government was not ready to assist the electoral watchdog.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday sought details of bank accounts of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan from the State Bank of Pakistan in the Toshakhana reference.

According to sources, ECP has written a letter to the State Bank to provide details of the former premier’s bank accounts.

The electoral watchdog, based on the details provided, is expected to announce a judgment on the reference.

The request by the electoral watchdog pertains to not disclosing gifts taken from Toshakhana in the financial statements.

Toshakhana case

The case was brought before the electoral watchdog last year after the Pakistan Information Commission (PIC) had accepted an application on the matter and had directed the Cabinet Division to provide information about the gifts received by then-prime minister Imran Khan from foreign dignitaries.

The former premier in his reply to the ECP claimed that the case was ‘misleading, baseless and false’.

His statement maintained that he had not hidden any assets and urged the ECP to drop the reference. He had also stated that Article 62(f) of the Constitution – which states that a member of parliament must be "sadiq and ameen" (honest and righteous) – was not applicable for the case against him.

Earlier, the ECP reserved its decision regarding the former premier’s disqualification.

In a hearing, the PTI chairman's counsel Barrister Ali Zafar admitted to Imran selling at least four presents he had received in 2018-19 from foreign dignitaries.

Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) lawyer Khalid Ishaq had said that Imran had admitted to receiving gifts in his response to the ECP and had also confessed that the gifts were not disclosed in the statements but claimed that items of daily use "were not disclosed by anyone.

ISLAMABAD: Amid rising political temperature in the country, PTI on Tuesday submitted a reference against former president Asif Ali Zardari for allegedly violating the Toshakhana rules during his time in office.

In its reference submitted to the National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, the PTI accused the former president and PPP co-chairman of receiving three vehicles from Toshakhana during the tenure of former premier Yousaf Raza Gillani by violating the law.

The party claims that it has irrefutable evidence of it.

Seeking his disqualification from holding public office, the PTI said that being a president, Zardari was not eligible to take vehicles from Toshakhana.

PTI files reference against Gilani
On October 4, PTI filed a reference at the Senate against Gilani, seeking his disqualification for allegedly violating the Toshakhana rules while holding the office of prime minister.

Accompanied by other PTI senators, Senator Azam Khan Swati submitted the reference at the Senate Secretariat.

According to the reference, Gilani, as the former prime minister, had relaxed the rules allowing Zardari and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to take home luxury vehicles against payment of a negligible amount.

Talking to journalists, Swati said that a "big reference" was filed against Gilani for violating Toshakhana Rules 11, as he had facilitated Zardari and Nawaz to get ownership of three and one luxury vehicles respectively.

He hoped the Senate chairman would soon send the reference to the Election Commission of Pakistan. Swati claimed Asif Ali Zardari paid only 15% against the three gifted vehicles, including two BMW cars and one Toyota Lexus car.

These vehicles were among the fleet of six bulletproof vehicles under his use. He added that a Mercedes car was gifted to Sharif by the Saudi government in 1997 when he was the prime minister.

Rivals making ‘dirty videos’ to malign me: Imran

LAHORE: In a pre-emptive move to counter the impact of ‘indecent’ video clips allegedly prepared by his opponents to stop his “revolution”, former prime minister Imran Khan on Tuesday claimed the ruling coalition was allegedly making ‘deep fake’ videos to malign him and his party Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).

“All of the thieves have joined hands to defame me and my party… they are making [my] dirty videos [through the use of] deep fake technology,” Imran Khan said in Nankana Sahib during a political gathering.

“The videos will be shown to the public… but they will fail to achieve the objective,” he said, adding that the government could stoop to every low but it would not be able to stop his long march.

Mr Khan also shared some ‘deep fake’ audio clips of the Sharif family with the audience. In one clip, Nawaz Sharif was speaking against himself, while in another Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was speaking ill of his brother, whereas in the third clip, Maryam Nawaz was praising Imran Khan. “Just for fun – 100 per cent fake” was written on these clips while they were being played by Imran Khan to prove his point about the deepfake technology.

The PTI chief also referred to the recent audio clips leaked to the social and mainstream media and said that he will go to court for an inquiry into the audio leaks.

The former premier said that he wanted to find out which spy agency was responsible for tapping the secure phone line of the prime minister’s official office and added that “surveillance of the premier was fine” but leaking these clips was criminal.

Referring to the money laundering case registered against him and some other PTI leaders by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), he said that the ruling coalition was treating him like a hostile element by registering cases against him and his aides.

About the cipher, the PTI chairman said that he wanted to thank the incumbent government for bringing the cipher into the limelight. He, however, added that the commission to investigate the issue should include “credible judges” as those who were “part of the foreign conspiracy are not competent to make the commission” over the issue.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday indefinitely adjourned the hearing on a petition seeking the disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief and former premier Imran Khan.

Justice Amir Farooq of the IHC heard the application today, which contended that Imran Khan had concealed information about his alleged daughter in his nomination papers.

However, when the case was called neither the petitioner nor any representative on the petitioner's behalf appeared before the court.

Upon this, the court adjourned the hearing of the case indefinitely.

It may be noted here that a citizen named Sajid had filed the application seeking Imran’s disqualification.

Last year in December, the IHC disposed of a writ petition seeking PM Imran's disqualification after the petitioner withdrew the case.

A division bench, comprising IHC CJ and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, had heard the case, which was filed with reference to Sita White.

In 2018, a case was filed against then-premier Imran for not declaring Tyrian White as his daughter in his nomination papers.

The petitioner had contested that the PTI chairman should be disqualified under Article 62(i)(f) of the Constitution for providing incorrect information in his nomination papers, adding that he is no longer Sadiq and Ameen.

The petitioner, Abdul Wahab Baloch, was a candidate of the Pakistan Justice and Democratic Party in the last general election. Baloch had later joined the PTI and filed a miscellaneous petition in February 2019 to withdraw the case.

In January, the IHC had declared the petition seeking the disqualification of then Prime Minister Imran Khan inadmissible.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will announce its reserved verdict in the Toshakhana reference against former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Friday (tomorrow), ARY News reported on Thursday.

The election commission will announce the reserved verdict in the Toshakhana reference against former premier Imran Khan on Friday (tomorrow) at 2:00 pm.

The commission issued notices to the parties including the former premier in the case.

On September 19, ECP had reserved its verdict in the Toshakhana reference against the PTI chief.

During the hearing, Barrister Ali Zafar had said in his arguments before the ECP that the disqualification under Article 62-1-F is the prerogative of the courts not the Election Commission of Pakistan.

A five-member bench comprising the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja led the proceedings and Barrister Ali Zafar represented the PTI chairman in the case.

Barrister Ali Zafar questioned whether any court proved that Khan is not Sadiq and Ameen. Khan’s lawyer had said the ECP is not a court but a commission and the constitution’s disqualification case under Article 62-1-F cannot be heard by the ECP.

The ECP had reserved the judgement in the Toshakhana case against Imran Khan after hearing the arguments of the PTI lawyer.

The Toshakhana case was brought before the electoral watchdog last year after the Pakistan Information Commission (PIC) accepted an application on the matter and directed the Cabinet Division to provide information about the gifts received by the then-prime minister Imran Khan from foreign dignitaries.

It is pertinent to mention here that Imran Khan is facing a disqualification reference for allegedly hiding Toshakhana gifts.

PTI assails ECP as Toshakhana case verdict due today

• Asad Umar slams commission for questioning Imran’s ability to contest NA seats
• Fawad claims voters do not want party to return to parliament

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is all set to announce on Friday (today) its verdict in the Toshakhana case against former prime minister Imran Khan.

Meanwhile, on the eve of the much-awaited decision, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) continued its tirade against the ECP and its alleged partiality.

The judgement was reserved over a month ago by a five-member ECP bench headed by the chief election commissioner after hearing arguments from both sides. The reference against the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman was filed by the coalition government for “not sharing details” of the gifts he retained from the state Toshakhana and proceeds from their alleged sale.

National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf had sent the Toshakhana reference to the ECP, seeking Mr Khan’s disqualification, in August. The reference contended that the PTI chief did not disclose the details of gifts taken from the state treasury and the amount received from the sale of those gifts.

Barrister Ali Zafar, while representing Mr Khan before the bench, had urged the ECP to quash the reference, terming it “misleading” based on “mala fide intentions and political motives”.

With the disqualification reference, ruling alliance MNAs had also attached documentary evidence to corroborate their claims against the former PM and sought his disqualification under sections 2 and 3 of Article 63 of the Constitution, read with Article 62(1)(f).

In a written reply submitted to the ECP, Mr Khan had admitted to having sold at least four presents he had received during his tenure as the prime minister. He maintained that the sale of the gifts he had procured from the state treasury after paying Rs21.56 million fetched about Rs58m. The gifts included a wristwatch, a pair of cufflinks, a pen and a ring as well as four Rolex watches.

Established in 1974, the Tosha*khana is a department under the administrative control of the Cabinet Division and stored precious gifts given to rulers, parliamentarians, bureaucrats, and officials by heads of other governments and states and foreign dignitaries.

PTI takes on ECP
On the eve of the crucial verdict, senior PTI leader Asad Umar again took aim at the ECP, which had raised a question over Mr Khan’s contesting of National Assembly seats. The commission had noted that since Imran Khan’s resignation from the NA was yet to be accepted, how he could contest elections on other seats.

Responding to this, Mr Umar in a statement asked the ECP to refer to Article 223 of the Constitution, which he claimed supported the party’s stance that a sitting MNA could take part in elections on other seats of the lower house. He also insisted that the PTI chairman had resigned from his National Assembly seat.

“It seems that ECP is thinking up new ways to prove itself a political stakeholder every day,” Mr Umar said.

On the other hand, former minister Fawad Chaudhry hinted that informal talks were taking place between the PTI and government at certain levels.

Mr Chaudhry said during a presser on Thursday that if early elections were announced in the coming days, it would mean the negotiations had been successful. If not, he said, the long march would be announced.

Responding to a question about the possibility of PTI’s return to parliament, he said the Supereme Court had turned down the government’s request to stop Imran Khan’s planned long march, and that PTI voters did not want their MNAs to go back to parliament, either.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday sent Toshakhana (gift depository) reference to the trial court to initiate criminal proceedings against former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

Last month, the ECP had disqualified the deposed premier under Article 63(1)(p) in the Toshakhana reference.

A four-member bench of the ECP declared Imran's National Assembly seat vacant as it unanimously decided that he had misled officials about the gifts he received from foreign dignitaries during his tenure as the prime minister.

The reference has been referred to the district and sessions judge under sections 137, 170 and 167 of the Election Act, reported Express News.

The written ruling read that PTI chief had “intentionally and deliberately” violated the provisions contained in sections 137, 167 and 173 of the Elections Act, 2017 as he submitted a “false statement” and “incorrect declaration” to the ECP in the details of his assets and liabilities filed by him for the year 2020-21.

The ruling read as Imran had made false statements and an incorrect declaration, therefore he also committed the “offence of corrupt practices” defined under Sections 167 and 173 of the Elections Act, 2017, punishable under Section 174 of the Elections Act, 2017.

The commission had ordered the initiation of criminal proceedings against the ex-premier for submitting a false statement under Section 190(2) of the Elections Act.

The reference had been moved by the Pakistan Democratic Movement against the PTI chief on August 4 for not “sharing the details” of Toshakhana gifts and proceeds from their alleged sale.

Despite the Pakistan Information Commission (PIC) ordering it to do so, the PTI, while in government, had been reluctant to disclose the details of the gifts presented to Imran since he took over his office in 201

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry said Tuesday that the party chief Imran Khan purchased the wrist watch from Toshakhana in accordance with the law and it was declared in the particulars of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), ARY News reported.

In his Twitter thread, Fawad Chaudhry said that the wrist watch was not sold to the person who had been presented as the buyer by a media group nor does the individual have a direct or indirect connection with Imran Khan.

He detailed that a Toshakhana gift could be owned by paying 25% of the original prices prior to the Imran Khan-led government which was increased by the PTI government up to 50%. The PTI leader said that a protocol officer of the foreign ministry receives the gifts during the foreign visits and all of the gifts are then submitted to the Toshakhana with a receiving slip.

The Toshakhana department was a subordinate institution of the Cabinet Division where an independent committee fixes the price of all state gifts and informs the prime minister or concerned minister.

Chaudhry slammed the political rivals for lodging a baseless case against the PTI chief. He clarified once again that a wrist watch worth $5 million was never gifted to any prime minister.

He also criticised businessman Umar Farooq for making false claims of purchasing a $5 million wrist watch at a cheapest price.

PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry announced on Wednesday that his party will be initiating legal proceedings against Dubai-based businessman Umar Farooq Zahoor in the Gulf state and Jang Group in London, as he denied allegations that PTI Chairman Imran Khan had sold a state gift to the former.

However, he acknowledged that the gift was “legally” sold “in the market”.

The explanation came a day after Zahoor appeared on Geo News programme Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath and claimed the PTI government had sold an expensive Graff wristwatch — gifted to Imran by Saudi Crown Prince Moham*mad Bin Salman — for $2 million, worth approximately Rs280m at the time of sale in 2019.

The Toshakhana case over the sale of state gifts received by Imran became a major sticking point in national politics after the Election Commission of Pakistan disqualified the PTI chief for making “false statements and incorrect declaration”.

After months of evading the topic, Imran admitted in a written reply on Sept 8 that he had sold at least four presents — including a Graff wristwatch — he had received during his tenure as the prime minister.

The matter again shot into the spotlight yesterday night as Zahoor claimed in the Geo News programme that he had bought the watch through former accoun*ta*bility minister Shahzad Akbar and Farah Khan, a close aide Imran’s wife Bushra Bibi.

The Dubai-based businessman also claimed that Farah wanted to sell the watch for $4-5m “but after negotiations, I purchased it for $2 million”. The payment, he added, was made in cash on Farah’s insistence.

The claims evoked an outcry from PTI leaders, including Akbar who denied Zahoor’s allegations.

Along the same lines, Fawad also rejected the claims in today’s press conference.

He began the press conference by sharing details about the Graff wristwatch in question.

Elaborating on the procedure for receiving state gifts, he said the watch was gifted by the Saudi king during Imran’s trip to Saudi Arabia in 2018 when the PTI chief was the prime minister. Following due procedure, the watch was deposited in the Toshakhana department and its price was valued at approximately RS100m, Fawad added.

At the time, he recalled, public office holders could pay 20pc of the evaluated price of a gift and retain it. “Imran Khan paid 20pc of the evaluated price and it became his personal property,” Fawad contended, revealing that the watch was later “sold in the market for approximately Rs57m.

“Capital gains tax was paid for it accordingly and it was declared in Imran Khan’s returns as well as before the election commission.”

The watch, he asserted, was “never sold to anyone named Umar Zahoor.

“Neither was it ever handed over to Farah Gujjar for selling … and Ahsan Saleem Gujjar, who is Farah’s husband, clearly said [last] night that she never met him (Zahoor).”

In this connection, Fawad also highlighted Zahoor’s “very shady history”.

Zahoor is said to be an influential business personality and is apparently wanted by Norway, Switzerland, Turkiye and Pakistan since 2009-10 over various financial and other crimes.

The businessman also stands accused of taking his minor daughters abroad illegally after obtaining their passports under fictitious names and parentage, even though the Lahore High Court had already ordered that his name be placed on the Exit Control List.

Building his case on the basis of this information, Fawad alleged that Zahoor had named Akbar because the former accountability minister wanted his return to Pakistan.

But soon after the government changed, a first information report was registered against Akbar and late Federal Investigation Agency director Mohammad Rizwan at Islamabad’s Kohsar police station, he said. “Later, Zahoor’s name was removed from the ECL (Exit Control List) and a month after that, he holds this press conference.”

Imran labels Zahoor ‘fraudster’, accuses Geo and Khanzada of slander
Following Fawad’s press conference, Imran himself denied the allegation and vowed to take legal action against Geo and Khanzada.

“Geo and Khanzada, supported by ‘handlers’, slandered me through a baseless story cooked up by a known fraudster and internationally wanted criminal,” he tweeted.

“I have spoken to my lawyers and I plan to sue Geo, Khanzada and the fraudster not only in Pak but also in UK and UAE.”

NAB decides to call watch buyer to testify in Toshakhana reference

Following the emergence of the alleged buyer of a rare watch retained from the Toshakhana by the former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and later sold, the apex anti-graft watchdog has now decided to solve this query.

In this regard, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to expand its investigation into the Toshakhana reference.

The bureau said that it would ask the buyer, Dubai-based Umer Farooq Zahoor, to come and testify.

NAB is further considering calling Mirza Shehzad Akbar, who first reached out to Zahoor, and Farah Gujjar, who is accused of taking the watch to Zahoor and taking cash against it from him.

The anti-graft body will also review records of the Toshakhana to determine when the watch was taken and sold and when money against it was deposited in the exchequer and how much.

At this stage, the purpose is to ascertain the facts of the matter.

NAB will also seek answers to the questions of what was the true value of the watch?

Other questions that it seeks to answer include how much money was submitted in the national exchequer? Where was it sold and when, and where did the proceeds of the sale go?

If the watch was sold abroad, were all legal requirements fulfilled to take it out of the country and how were the proceeds brought back to Pakistan?

All the new facts will be investigated from all angles.

At a later stage in the investigation, NAB may consider summoning Imran Khan as well.

In yet another turn of events in the Toshakhana controversy, the Styleoutwatches on Friday rejected rumours about the state gifts received by PTI chief Imran Khan, saying that they never bought or sold the Graff Mecca Map diamond MasterGraff Tourbillon minute repeater wristwatch.

“We certify that we never bought or sold the Graff Mecca Map diamond MasterGraff Tourbillon minute repeater watch along with diamond cufflinks and round diamonds gent's ring, as well as rose gold pen set with diamonds to any person,” the clarified in a statement.

“Any information about the watch being sold for USD250,000 is incorrect and baseless,” the company clarified and further said that they disclaimed all liability towards selling the watch set.

The statement came amid rumours on social media that Styleoutwatches had sold the watch for 250k USD in 2019. On Tuesday, Dubai-based businessman Umar Farooq Zahoor stirred controversy after he claimed on a private news channel that he had bought a Graff wristwatch, originally gifted to Imran Khan by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman for 7.5 million Dirhams, in cash or equal to $2 million dollars.

The company said that it had come to their attention through various public and media sources that their verified Instagram page is being used politically on various social media and public posts.

“We were approached by undisclosed person, to market this watch using our Instagram page,” it stated, adding that later, however, they were told that this watch has already been sold by a third party.

The company said that they reserve the right to sue and take legal action against anyone using their name and their brand to sell and market the watch.

In a video going viral on social media apparently released by the Dubai-based luxury watch sellers, it was further clarified that the watch was one of a kind and was sold by them in 2019 for $250 000.

“We have to clarify something because there is a lot of media hype and political problems going on about a particular watch,” a man in the video says.

He maintained that they did not sell the MasterGraff Tourbillon minute repeater watch that Imran Khan had taken from the Toshakhana.

“What we did do is we got it for promotion and marketing reasons,” he said, adding that they took the watch from an undisclosed person, made the pictures and posted it on social media to create attention and hype in 2019.

“Then, we returned the watch to the person and whatever happened before or after, we don’t know,” he clarified. He requested the people to keep them out of the matter.

After receiving the Toshakhana Reference by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), a trial court in Islamabad has initiated criminal proceedings against former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, ARY News reported on Monday.

According to details, the district and sessions court has sent a notice to Imran Khan for tomorrow in the trial opened against him in the Toshakhana reference.

In a statement, District Election Commissioner said the trial court will hear the reference filed against the former premier for being involved in corrupt practices.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had sent Toshakhana reference to the trial court to initiate criminal proceedings against the PTI Chairman.

The reference was referred to the district and sessions judge under sections 137, 170 and 167 of the Election Act. The commission had ordered the initiation of criminal proceedings against the former premier.

Islamabad court summons Imran in Toshakhana case today

PTI Chairman Imran Khan has been summoned to appear before a district and sessions court in Islamabad today (Tuesday) in the Toshakhana reference.

The hearing is expected to begin shortly.

The court summons comes a month after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) found Imran had made “false statements and incorrect declaration” in his election papers and disqualified him.

The court had issued the notice to the former prime minister yesterday. Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal will hear the case today.

Last week, the ECP had sent the reference to the court, asking it to proceed against Imran under criminal law for allegedly misleading officials about the gifts he received from foreign dignitaries during his tenure as the prime minister. The commission seeks a three-year jail term and imposition of fine as the punishment.

The complainant in the reference is the Islamabad deputy election commissioner. The reference stated that Imran had “deliberately concealed his assets relating to Toshakhna gifts retained by him particularly in year 2018 and 2019… in the statements of assets and liabilities filed for the year 2017-201 8 and 2018-19”.

It further said that as per the record, the gifts were purchased from the Toshakhana for Rs21.5 million on the basis of their assessed value, while they were valued at around Rs108m.

The ECP wanted the PTI chief to be convicted for the offences mentioned under sections 167 (corrupt practice) and 173 (making or publishing a false statement or declaration) of the Elections Act 2017.

The reference
The reference was filed in August against Imran by the coalition government, for “not sharing details” of Toshakhana gifts and proceeds from their alleged sale. Lawmakers from the Pakistan Democratic Movement — the ruling alliance — had submitted the reference to NA Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, who had subsequently forwarded it to Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikander Sultan Raja for further action.

However, the PTI, while in government, had been reluctant to disclose details of the gifts presented to Imran since he assumed office in 2018, maintaining that doing so would jeopardise international ties, even as the Pakistan Infor*mation Commission (PIC) ordered it to do so.

But later, in a written reply submitted to the ECP on September 8, Imran had admitted to selling at least four presents he had received during his tenure as the prime minister.

The former premier, in his reply, had maintained that the sale of the gifts that he had procured from the state treasury after paying Rs21.56 million fetched about Rs58m. One of the gifts included a graff wristwatch, a pair of cuff links, an expensive pen and a ring while the other three gifts included four Rolex watches.

The reference against Imran was filed by MNA Barrister Mohsin Nawaz Ranjha carrying signatures of lawmakers Agha Hassan Baloch, Salahudeen Ayubi, Ali Gohar Khan, Syed Rafiullah Agha and Saad Waseem Sheikh and it was subsequently forwarded to CEC Raja.

In their disqualification reference, MNAs from the ruling alliance included documentary evidence to corroborate their claims against the ex-premier and sought his disqualification under Sections 2 and 3 of Article 63 of the Constitution, read with Article 62(1)(f).

Last year, the PIC had accepted an application by Islamabad-based journalist Rana Abrar Khalid and directed the Cabinet Division to “provide the requested information about the gifts received by [then] prime minister Imran from foreign head of states, head of governments and other foreign dignitaries … description/specification of each gift, information about the gifts retained by the PM and the Rules under which gifts thus received are retained by him”.

The Cabinet Division was told to share the required information within 10 working days and upload it on the official website as well.

Subsequently, the Cabinet Division had challenged the PIC order in the IHC, claiming that it was “illegal, without lawful authority”. The then-government took the stance that the dis*closure of any information rela*ted to Toshakhana jeopardises international ties.

In April this year, the IHC had directed Deputy Attorney General Arshad Kayani to ensure the implementation of the PIC order to publicise details of the gifts presented to former prime minister Imran by heads of states since he assumed office in August 2018.

An Islamabad district and sessions court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of a Toshakhana reference against PTI chief Imran Khan till December 8 after recording a district election commissioner's statement.

Imran — who is recuperating after sustaining a gunshot wound following an assassination bid during a rally on November 3 — was expected at the court today as the summons for his appearance was issued during the previous hearing, which marked the beginning of a criminal trial against the former prime minister for concealing information about the Toshakhana gifts.

The proceedings were initiated on the Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) complaint after the electoral watchdog found him guilty of “false statements and incorrect declaration” in his election papers.

Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal presided over today's hearing before whom District Election Commissioner Waqas Malik gave his statement.

The district election commissioner said he had been authorised to pursue the case.

He added that the ECP was an independent institution that functioned under the Constitution and ensured that corrupt practices were curtailed.

Malik further said members of the National Assembly submitted their returns to the ECP annually. Imran, too, submitted his returns from 2018 to 2021, he added.

The hearing was adjourned till December 8.

A copy of the court's written order with regard to today's proceedings is awaited.

ECP seeks proceedings against Imran
The court summons for Imran comes a month after the ECP found Imran had made “false statements and incorrect declaration” in his election papers and disqualified him.

However, the PTI, while in government, had been reluctant to disclose details of the gifts presented to Imran since he assumed office in 2018, maintaining that doing so would jeopardise international ties, even as the Pakistan Infor*mation Commission (PIC) ordered it to do so.

Pakistan’s defence minister makes bold claim against Imran Khan
Pakistan’s defence minister says Imran Khan sold gold medal that he received from India
Imran Khan escaped an assassination attempt earlier this month
By India Today Web Desk: Pakistan’s defence minister Khawaja Asif has claimed that former Pakistan Prime Minister and cricket team captain Imran Khan sold his gold medal that he received from India during his cricket-playing days.

Speaking on a television show, Defence Minister Asif said Imran Khan had sold the medal he received from India.

"Khan had sold a gold medal which he had received from India,” the Express Tribune newspaper quoted Asif.

However, the Pakistan Muslim League leader did not any details about the gold medal Khan allegedly sold. Meanwhile, a coin collector claimed that Khan sold the medal to him for less than Rs 3,000.

Shakeel Ahmad Khan, who belongs to Kasur near Lahore, made the claim while participating in a talk show of Geo New television channel. He claimed that Khan’s medal was among the collection of six or seven medals that he brought in 2014, insisting the medal was given to Khan by the Cricket Club of India in 1987 in Mumbai.

“I bought a collection of six or seven medals for Rs 3,000 in 2014 and this medal was among them. Further probe showed that it was the medal given by the Cricket Club of India to Imran Khan in 1987 in Mumbai. The PCB accepted the donation and also gave me a certificate,” Shakeel Ahmad Khan said as quoted by PTI.

The show host, Hamid Mir, said that Imran Khan and his team had played a match in Mumbai and the interesting part of the match was that Pakistan player Abdul Qadir was injured and Sachin Tendulkar had fielded for Pakistan as a substitute.

Khan escaped an assassination attempt earlier this month and is expected to re-launch his long march this week, demanding early elections. Khan was ousted in April after a no-confidence motion was passed against him.

Govt to approach NAB, FIA against Imran
ECP had disqualified Imran under Article 63(1)(p) in the Toshakhana reference

The government has decided to further tighten the noose against PTI Chairman and former premier Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case and plans to file an application with the NAB and FIA in this regard.

Last month, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had disqualified the former premier under Article 63(1)(p) in the Toshakhana reference.

A four-member bench of the ECP declared Imran's National Assembly seat vacant as it unanimously decided that he had misled officials about the gifts he received from foreign dignitaries during his tenure as the prime minister.

The reference against Imran stated that he had “deliberately concealed his assets relating to Toshakhna gifts retained by him particularly in year 2018 and 2019… in the statements of assets and liabilities filed for the year 2017-201 8 and 2018-19”.

It further said that as per the record, the gifts were purchased from the Toshakhana for Rs21.5 million on the basis of their assessed value, while they were valued at around Rs108 million.

Toshakhana scandal: Shop owner denies buying Imran Khan’s watch

In a video message, the alleged buyer of Toshakhana gifts denied buying the expensive watch from former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan.

According to the details, Muhammad Shafiq, an alleged buyer of Toshakhana gifts and owner of the Art of Times jewellery shop, denied purchasing Imran Khan’s expensive watch, gifted to the PTI chief on a foreign visit.

In his video statement uploaded on the social media platform Twitter, he said, “I didn’t buy the watch of former primer and I didn’t give any receipt. My letter pad and stamps were misused,” My name is being dragged over and over again for political gains.

Muhammad Shafiq warned to take legal action if his name dragged again in the scandal.

It is worth mentioning here that the watch gifted to former Prime Minister Imran Khan was sold to a local Islamabad trader for Rs51 million, last month. The trader then sold the watch to UAE trader Owais Merchant for Rs61 million.

The watch was then sold to a UAE personality, and the reported buyer of the watch Umer Farooq is a close friend of him, revealed in the ARY News talk show Off The Record.

Last month, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry claims that the party chief Imran Khan purchased the wristwatch from Toshakhana by the law and it was declared in the particulars of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

In his Twitter thread, Fawad Chaudhry said that the wristwatch was not sold to the person who had been presented as the buyer by a media group nor does the individual have a direct or indirect connection with Imran Khan.

He detailed that a Toshakhana gift could be owned by paying 25% of the original prices before the Imran Khan-led government which was increased by the PTI government up to 50%.

There’s proof Tyrian is Imran’s daughter: Rana Sanaullah
Rana Sanaullah said on Saturday there was proof that Tyrian White was a daughter of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Saturday there was proof that Tyrian White was a daughter of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan.

Replying to a question by a journalist about Imran Khan’s putative daughter, he said there were undeniable proofs that Tyrian was former premier Imran’s daughter.

Tyrian is part of Imran Khan’s controversial past. For years, Imran denied allegations of being a father to Sita White’s daughter. The scandal is often used by Khan’s opposition to tarnish his public reputation. However, a Californian judge declared Imran Khan as her father. Not only that, Jemima had welcomed Tyrian as her step-daughter, according to the international media.

To another questions, the interior minister told the PTI chairman and other party leaders to stop making false propaganda that the country was going to default.

He rejected the PTI propaganda that the country was heading towards default. He said the PTI leadership was hell bent upon destroying the country for securing its politics.

He goaded Imran Khan on the matter of dissolution of assemblies daring him to dissolve them as the PMLN was ready to contest elections. “This time we will make our government in Punjab after getting majority,” he said confidently.

The interior minister said that the Daily Mail apologised to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on publishing a false story against him. He asked the former rulers that they should also tender their apology for getting a false story published in the UK newspaper.

Talking to the media after his acquittal, Rana Sanaullah said the PTI is blackmailing the government for seven months to make the country suffer from political instability, saying that political instability will lead to economic instability. In response to a question, Rana said that Tyrian was the daughter of Imran, and there was more than one proof of this.

Rana said that Imran uses drugs himself and makes cases against others.

He said the party has requested Nawaz Sharif to be present and lead the campaign in any election.

"The decision to stay away from politics belongs to the entire institution of the army and not to any individual," Rana said, adding elections will be held in 2023.

PM orders comprehensive strategy to prevent power outages in future

The federal cabinet gave permission on Tuesday for making all the data of Toshakhana public and approved a nationwide public awareness drive for conservation of power, water, gas and other resources.

He has a daughter?

PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday requested the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to dismiss a petition — seeking his disqualification for not mentioning “his daughter Tyrian Jade White” in his nomination papers — saying that it was “not maintainable” on legal grounds.

The former prime minister argued that he was not a member of the National Assembly anymore, therefore such a petition was “not maintainable and may not be proceeded”.

Last year, Sajid Mehmood had filed a petition in the IHC claiming that although Imran made arrangements for Tyrian White’s upkeep in the United Kingdom, he did not disclose it in nomination papers and affidavits filed by him for contesting elections.

The IHC on Jan 19 had asked Imran to submit his reply by Jan 27 after his counsel Salman Akram Raja sought time citing the need for the litigants to go through a biometric verification process before the submission of documents.

In his response submitted today, Imran stated that his resignation from the National Assembly “is irrevocable and he has no intention of taking up a seat in the present National Assembly”.

He argued that the IHC could not examine the “veracity or otherwise of any declaration or affidavit issued” in the exercise of its constitutional jurisdiction, especially with respect to a person who had ceased to hold public office.

“Such examination requires the leading of evidence, examination and cross examination of witnesses in a course of a trial before a competent forum.”

The PTI chief also referred to similar petitions filed in the IHC and Supreme Court previously that were dismissed on the same grounds.

He added that a case considered once before to be “improper to proceed with” could not be taken up again as per the law.

The petition
Sajid Mahmood, the petitioner, had alleged that the PTI chairman did not marry Sita White because her “racist father categorically told the respondent (Imran) that if he married Sita, they would not get a penny of his money”.

“Only thereafter, he met Jemima, another rich lady, and in a very short time married her.”

The petition, titled “Imran versus Imran — the untold story”, recalled the circumstances in which the custody of Tyrian Jade was given to Jemima.

It stated that Ana-Lusia White, in her will of Feb 27, 2004, had nominated Jemima Khan as guardian of her daughter Tyrian Jade Khan-White. Sita White died that year on May 13.

The petition went on to state: “Jemima Goldsmith had been the spouse of Imran Khan (1995-2004).

“The concealed facts stood confirmed by a judgement of paternity rendered by a superior court in California in favour of Sita White where it was held that the respondent (Imran Khan) was the father of Tyrian Jade.”

Imran Khan initially joined the proceedings through his attorney, but defaulted after he was asked to undergo a blood test, it added.

However, he later submitted a declaration to a court of guardianship when Caroline White, Sita’s sister, asked the court that she be appointed Tyrian’s guardian, the petition alleged.

TYRIAN WHITE: IHC FORMS LARGER BENCH IN IMRAN KHAN DISQUALIFICATION CASE

A single-member bench of Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday formed a larger bench for hearing a petition seeking the disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan for not mentioning “his daughter Tyrian Jade White” in his nomination papers.

Chief Justice Aamir Farooq heard the case filed by Sajid Mehmood claiming that Imran Khan did not disclose his daughter in nomination papers and affidavits filed by him for contesting elections.

As the IHC chief justice resumed the hearing, the counsel for Imran Khan Salman Akram Raja was not present in the courtroom.

His associate lawyer Salman Butt informed the court that Salman Akram Raja skipped today’s proceedings as he has to appear in Supreme Court (SC) in another case.

He told court that Imran Khan had submitted his reply in Tyrian White case through his counsel Salman Akram Raja.

To this, IHC chief justice said that Imran Khan in his reply had contended that he is no more a parliamentarian.

Imran’s counsel urged the court to adjourn the hearing of the case till March.

IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq adjourned the hearing for February 9 and decided to form larger bench in the case.

Soon, the PTI will get a shock!

The disqualification is a given. NS has said that he was promised by the Generals that IK would be disqualified. And he will be arrested but as things worsen and the anger grows against these criminals, it won't take much to light the match. The fake Hafiz and his band of traitors might end up destroying the country.

Very likely! He will be disqualified for not disclosing his daughter in his nomination paper. And, according to many sources, the establishment has decided to never let Khan to come in power. Alvi tried to talk to the military and tried to seek some relief but he got told off.

Let the establishment decide what they want. Personally i think that Kaptaan should let them deal with the economic disaster they have created with their accomplices and burn under their criminality. We can see what they are doing but let's never ever pretend that our Army was anti corruption or anti anything like that. It is now clear that these aren't rogue Generals but a full coup by a predatory elite out to scam a poor country. I am just glad my children Don't have to grow up worshipping criminals.
