ISLAMABAD: China on Thursday strongly rejected an Indian allegation that a detained Karachi-bound Chinese merchant vessel carried cargo that breached non-proliferation and export control restrictions.

“The Pakistan-bound merchant vessel from China was detained by India, but the autoclave on the ship that India claimed to be material for ballistic missiles is neither military supplies nor dual-use items under non-proliferation and export control,” Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Lijian Zhao said at a media briefing in Beijing.

He said that China, being a responsible country, abided by international non-proliferation obligations and international commitments.

The spokesman said that the operators of the ship had truthfully declared the cargo to the Indian authorities and, therefore, there is no concealment or false declaration.

The Indian authorities had detained Chinese merchant vessel MV Da Cui Yun in the first week of February at Deendayal port, formerly known as Kandla port, alleging that it carried an autoclave which had been mis-declared in the cargo manifest. It was claimed that the autoclave could be used in the manufacture of missiles.

A team from India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation, which is responsible for military research and development, had examined the suspect cargo.

Indian action against the ship was reportedly taken on intelligence provided by a ‘third country’.

More fake news to recreate teh narrative a=of proliferation to try and prevent the potential of Pakistan getting a seat on the NSG. Its all politics and skullduggery from the racist govt in Hindustan.

Funnily China is not a member of MTCR while India is. So India has to intercept such suspicious Cargo.

This is about ballastic missile proliferation. Its guided by MTCR.Rest assured Pakistan has almost zero chance of getting its membership.

Coming to NSG, the pakistan based nuclear black market headed by A Q Khan is well known.

Pakistan needs to get support of all the countries who are members to get into NSG,MTCR,Wassenar Agreement and Australia Group. Three of them is impossible. NSG is near impossible.

True, India doesn't have any intelligence of its own, as your posts have shown :)

Poor attempt. Intellectual capacity and strategic intelligence gathering are two different things.

Its a bit too much for you to understand.

Indian must be dumb enough to think that china will send anything to Pakistan through Indian sea ..... :))
you really think Pakistan need autoclave for Ballistic missile from china through indian sea .... ? :)
but never mind china has clear it all, now indians should find something else for thre propaganda ....

Bhakths at it again.

Need to feed the anti-Pakistan and anti-Muslim brigrade after getting humiliated globally by recent event of supporting and killing of minorities.

you are probably right however there is an attempt within pakistan to turn the narrative back into its favour and to wash the stain of AQ off. thus setting up a possible attempt (whenever) that may be to try and get into the NSG as its ultimate goal. Of course it may take years but a start will be required.

This is indias attempt to counter any thoughts of such a move. Unfortunatley the Chinese are not happy with this and there will be repercussions.

Chinese can be unhappy. We are not living on chinese handouts. Else Chinese claim that Indian states of Sikkim and Arunachal are Chinese territory based on some 200 year old maps. Do we care? No we dont.

India is a member of MTCR and if it received a tip off from a third country, most likely a powerful western one, it will act on it.

Smaller countries have seized ships of China or Russia etc. So this isnt that big a deal.

Even if it was a consignment with Military equipment, on what grounds can India object to that?

In a free trading world anyone can buy anything from any supplier (within international laws and regulations). Also China has a landborder with Pakistan and a cpec motorway in full flow, so they can just use land cargo to send whatever they like to Pakistan.

Not sure k India ki **** meh khujli kew ho rahi hai?

What have India found on board?

Or are you guys still trying to open it ? :)

Heard of MTCR? Go read about it.

lol Pakistan getting a seat on the NSG ? The same country that houses Qadir Khan in a safe house despite nuclear proliferation (known to the whole world) ? Are you starting to lose it a bit bro ? No offence I don't think Indians would be worried about Pakistan getting a seat at the NSG, as no one barring China would support them. However Indians would have legitimate concerns that the Chinese would be using Pakistan against India's interest, like they always do.

Heard of MTCR? Go read about it.

As per Wikipedia this MTCR is merely an:
‘informal understanding amongst a number of countries to limit missile technology’.....

“The MTCR is not a treaty and does not impose any legally binding obligations on Partners (members). Rather, it is an informal political understanding among states that seek to limit the proliferation of missiles and missile technology.“

hence its far from being any kind of international law. Therefore its as irrelevant as most of your posts.

Pakistan and China can transport missile technology components all day long over CPEC land route. India has no say in this matter. They will release the Chinese ship shortly.

India being a member of MTCR is doing its duty of stopping proliferation of the use of ballastic missile parts.

Go ahead, transport via CPEC.As the territory isnt under Indian control.

As long as its coming via an India controlled Port, it will not be allowed.

The item has been seized and the ship has been released.
