China hosted a major military parade in its capital, Beijing, on Wednesday, marking 80 years since the end of World War II.

In the country’s largest ever military parade, President Xi Jinping welcomed world leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, presenting China’s military prowess and vision for the future. Also present was Kim Jong Un’s teenage daughter and possible heir, Kim Ju Ae, who made her first known international trip to China for the parade.

Here is what happened during the parade.

The last time China hosted a Victory Day military parade was 10 years ago. That was also the first time China had organised a grand military parade to commemorate the end of the war.

What happened during the parade?
It was a presentation of Chinese military might, comprising a choreographed showcase of advanced military equipment such as drones, hypersonic missiles and fighters.

China unveiled nuclear-capable missiles that can be launched from land, sea, and air simultaneously – marking the first public display of its complete “triad” of nuclear-ready capabilities. This included the Jinglei-1, an air-based, long-range missile; Julang-3, a submarine-based intercontinental missile; and Dongfeng-31 and Dongfeng-61, land-based intercontinental missiles.

China also presented the Yingji-17, Yingji-19, and Yingji-20, which are hypersonic antiship missiles that China has tested against prototypes of US aircraft carriers.

Also on display were drones with the ability to function underwater, as well as in the air, some of which are intended for reconnaissance missions and precision strikes. Additionally, unmanned helicopters designed for ship-based launches were featured in the parade.

Cruise missiles, Changjian-20A, Yingji-18C, Changjian-1000, and hypersonic missiles Yingji-21, Dongfeng-17, and Dongfeng-26D also appeared during the event.

The parade also featured a performance by a military band and choir.

Prior to the parade, state media reported that 80 buglers would be performing, marking the 80 years since the defeat of imperial Japan in World War II. State media also reported that more than 1,000 musicians would be seated over 14 rows, representing each year of China’s resistance following Japan’s invasion of Manchuria in 1931.

Xi made a speech addressing 50,000 spectators at Tiananmen Square. “Today, mankind is faced with the choice of peace or war, dialogue or confrontation, win-win or zero-sum,” said Xi, adding that the Chinese people “firmly stand on the right side of history”.

He wore a suit akin to those worn by Mao Zedong, who led the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to victory during the civil war post-World War II.

Spectators were seated on chairs coloured green, red and gold, which symbolise fertile land, the sacrifices of the people, and peace, respectively, according to China’s state broadcaster, CCTV.

Warning to those supporting Taiwan ✅
Warning to those just "claiming" Akshai Chin, Arunachal ✅
SCO successful summit ✅

But sir laser eye is champion of diplomacy :kp

I don't mind such warnings to India esp if they can keep removing rare earth restrictions and contribute to Indian industries.
They can even open up their country for you only if you stop acting pawn for a states miles away from your shore. QUAD etc are just fantasies inimical for India

No one’s a bigger pawn to US than Pakistani Establishment, economics is what works for countries, China did remove restrictions before Modi visit, so its good.

What Pakistan gives to China and US, India can’t the security establishment of India will always be wary of these two.

So US and West want to military compete with China?

Good Luck!

Good thing Chinese weapons barely work as was proven in Operation Sindoor, when India Batista Bombed Pakistan and they had no answer. Indian BrahMos missiles ripped through and obliterated half a dozen strategic bases, causing billions in damage and shattering the credibility of Chinese weapon platforms.

To be fair, China does excel in military choreography and toy-like aesthetics of its weapons. There’s genuine scope for that in the film industry, not the battlefield.

It happens when dictators arrive in Pakistan, otherwise unlike India, Pakistan doesn't remain passenger of two boats. And sticking to one bloc, India could benefit too.

We rely on India’s authoritative voice and active role in supporting the full cessation of hostilities and broader international peace efforts: Ukraine FM Andrii Sybiha tells EAM Jaishankar

Power of india :kp

China is a military powerhouse. India is only a powerhouse in Bollywood. There is no comparison. :inti

China literally grabbed 2000 sq km territory from India without any war.
You are cheerleading land grab while you cry day and night about Israel land grabbing Gaza from Palestinians. :salute

China is a super power and there is no question about it.
China are still a distant 2nd to US when it comes to military and firepower. There is a reason why they have not tried to take back Taiwan yet. If they were powerful than US, they would have taken back Taiwan long ago.
Funny to see some Pakistanis and the usual suspect Bangladeshi dancing over Chinese firepower. It’s like poor neighbors dancing over the rich neighbor owning a Porsche.:cobra

@Rajdeep our friend always depends on other Nations to make a point against India weather it's cricket of off the field .

He scared to open a spoilers thread on Asia cup because he knows own nation Aaukat.

Same here because india humiliated Pakistan in 5 war and won with clean sweep 5-0 including biggest surrendered post World war 2

Who? When?
I said US is far ahead of China and it’s a fact. I did not gloat over how US bombed Pakistan and Afghanistan to show their might while both nations could not do anything.
Some posters on this thread are gloating over how China illegally occupied Indian territory. The response was for them.

Gloating? You’re reading it wrong.

Just toying with Sanghis, their intellectual ceiling makes them easy to play with.

@Devadwal is a perfect runner up, right after @Rajdeep.

Sliding with West to killed own people's using NATO drones , all just because getting few dollars :klopp :kp
Y’all keep electing leaders who kill their own citizens over what’s on their plate. Meanwhile, Pakistanis don’t even get to elect their dictators.

China is building up its military infrastructure and one of its goals is exactly this to take Taiwan. You are correct, the US is still the greatest military power the world has ever seen. It’s has a few thousand 4th and 5th gen planes which China is behind on and similarly, the US has 10 aircraft carrier groups whereas China is far behind this. However, China will catch up in a few decades as its production capability to exceed any other country. A time will come when the US can no longer defend Taiwan and that’s when China will attack. It has been playing a patient long game.

You are cheerleading land grab while you cry day and night about Israel land grabbing Gaza from Palestinians. :salute
Comparing Apples to Oranges. People of Gaza are a stateless people who don’t have a proper military and live in a thin strip of land, occupied by Israel since 1965 with a full blockade over their air, land and water by Israel. It’s like living in a concentration camp. There is no similarity to Indian territory occupied by China.

So if the other country has proper military, its ok to grab their land. :salute

Gaza has an elected government in Hamas and they do have army. Not up to the international standards and it was their duty to protect their citizens. Hamas is no where to be seen now and they have miserably failed to protect its citizens..

Anyways, this topic will quickly spiral into something else. Lets leave the concentration camp and genocide allegations out of this thread.

I didn’t say anything about grabbing land. I said you can’t compare the two situations.

Gaza has not had an election in years lol. You clearly don’t know what you are talking about.

Hamas is not a formal military but rather a militia that is fighting against oppression. Every people have the right to fight against oppression and tyranny and Gaza has been experiencing this since 1967. Though Hamas are terrorists in how they respond.

Hamas never allowed elections ever since they were chosen to power back in 2006. Even though they did not allow elections, they were originally democratically elected.

Even back in 2006, people voting for a militia(to put it mildly), shows their mentality. Oppression and tyranny is what Hamas propagated once they got in power. No elections and no way out for people to vote out those terrorists. They are stuck. Destroying Hamas will be liberation of Gaza.

I don't endorse this long drawn military action from Israel. Innocents are dying while Hamas are still alive in the tunnels. Israel should quickly weed out Hamas and leave that area with a friendly moderate Gazan government. A win-win for everyone. That tiny place has suffered enough.

Trump flew some fighter jets over Putin's head recently trying to intimidate him idk from what angle.....

If you want to intimidate, this is how you do it.

WW3 is very near

Trump says India and Russia appear "lost" to "deepest, darkest China"

WASHINGTON, Sept 5 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday said India and Russia seem to have been "lost" to China after their leaders met with Chinese President Xi Jinping this week, expressing annoyance at New Delhi and Moscow as Beijing pushes a new world order.
"Looks like we’ve lost India and Russia to deepest, darkest, China. May they have a long and prosperous future together!" Trump wrote in a social media post accompanying a photo of the three leaders together at Xi's summit in China.
Asked about Trump's post, India's foreign ministry told reporters in New Delhi that it had no comment. The Chinese foreign ministry did not immediately reply to a request for comment, and representatives for the Kremlin could not be immediately reached.

Xi hosted more than 20 leaders of non-Western countries for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in the Chinese port city of Tianjin, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Putin and Modi were see holding hands at the summit as they walked toward Xi before all three men stood side by side.
Trump has chilled U.S.-India ties amid trade tensions and other disputes. Trump this week said he was "very disappointed" in Putin but not worried about growing Russia-China ties.

Trump has been frustrated at his inability to convince Russia and Ukraine to reach an end to their war, more than three years after Russian forces invaded Ukraine.

He told reporters on Thursday night at the White House that he planned to talk to Putin soon.

Being elected in 2006 is irrelevant today. Most people in Gaza alive today did not vote for them, so you can’t say there is democracy.

As for why people voted for them, don’t be so judgemental. They have been oppressed since 1967, Israel controls their land, air and sea with no way out. Just to go abroad, the people of Gaza need permission from Israeli authorities and entering Israel from Gaza itself has been a nightmare. It’s basically a modern day concentration camp with a decades long blockade. I will repeat myself, everyone has the right to fight against tyranny and oppression.

Hamas cannot be destroyed. It’s an ideology, born from the simple idea of a free Palestine. Until they achieve their freedom, the Palestinians will keep fighting. More people have joined Hamas since October 7th because of the Israeli genocide.

The only solution to this and to ensure Hamas’s end and to assure its own security is for Israel to give the Palestinians their own state, one that is contiguous from the river to the sea and includes Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem including Al-Aqsa.

But Israel will never do this because it wants the land but not the indigenous people of that land and the only options are either ethnic cleansing which hasn’t worked since the Palestinians refuse to leave their land despite the oppression, or a slow genocide that is optically acceptable to the world, and this has been an opportunity for them to take advantage of once and for all remove the people of Gaza permanently.

^Hamas was democratically elected and they used democracy to kill democracy. That is what terrorists do. Hamas can be eliminated. They are a tiny minority. If their funding from Qatar stops, they will perish. Gaza itself does not have any industry that generates jobs and revenue. They are fully dependent on foreign aid and Israel for their survival.

I agree that Palestinians should have their own state minus Hamas. Hamas has not dropped weapons and are still in control of Gaza. The mistake that Gazans have done is to vote Hamas into power.

I think he's conflating his dream with reality. :D

I don't think he realises how many senior officers China captured in Galwan either
Unlike you I don't lie

Reported by Russia.. Chinas best friend from Beijing itself... You still carry on with your fake news of no fly zone which even your Paf doesn't claim as phantom Brahmos blast your airbases in the middle of no fly zone

New Delhi: China Thursday evening returned 10 Indian soldiers, who had been in their custody since Monday’s clash in the Galwan Valley in Ladakh, after a prolonged discussion at the major general level. The 10 soldiers included two majors and two captains.

As many as 20 Indian soldiers, including the Commanding Officer of 16 Bihar Colonel Santosh Babu, were killed in action in Monday’s clash.

45 deaths are India's claim mate. We know that is not to be trusted as it s just a face saving exercise for the radicalised deluded masses.

Funny how your claim of more Chinese were killed and yet, they took over new territory, killed your commanding officer and took away prisoners including officers as they pleased. I won't post the video.... but you get my point.
