CLT20 |Mumbai Indians v Northern Districts | Raipur | Sept 16

The SL Express earlier today, clearly batted with the intention of just getting 75 runs to GUARANTEE NRR wont impact Mumbai.
At no point in their batting did they even ATTEMPT to try to win the game quickly to try to qualify themselves.

Whether or not a conspiracy exists will be hard to prove, but a lot of "things" tend to happen to clearly favour IPL/BCCI teams.

Well like millions of Indians, I hate MI and thought they deserved to lose. But after reading so many conspiracy theories on this thread, I may change my mind :msd

BTW, in a BCCI owned event, BCCI owned ground.... won't be the BCCI governed teams be favoured :yk

Okay, then it happens. ICC is in control of India. CLT is happening in India. The refs are Indian. Can you do anything? No. Can your corrupt board do anything? No. Gotta fix your own home before you point at others.

Dunno if you were watching the same game I was, Express were going for it until they lost 4 wickets in a couple of overs going for the runs. This is what generally happens in cricket.

Dont know what game you were watching... After 11 over, Express were 72/3. Only after they got 75 did they show any intent to raise their RR past the 7 mark. In a game they needed to try to win by over 16-17, their game plan was to score a run a ball until 75.....? Which just happened to be the MAGIC # Mumbai needed.....?

Go watch the game again.

No point arguing. Recently I read "magnificent delusions" by Husain Haqqani. Gave me an insight into why conspiracy theories are so popular in Pakistan. But the best advise I could take from the book was that the more you argue against such theories, more you rationalize, stronger they get.

If MI loses today (I hope so, I hate MI) these theories will be meaningless. But same spot next time a Pakistani team is in soup, they will rise again in full splendor.

Just let conspiracy theories be, you have to expect them and ignore them if you can.

For the record, I think the SL Express "helped" Mumbai. NK have not. They bowled-fielded poorly at the end. But they dont need to go all out, they have basically qualified. Even if they played stupid shots, it would mean nothing cause they have nothing to play for.

In the end, target is average, one big innings from KW and Lahore get in still.
 
Surya gets his logic slightly tangled up: "Champions League is highly unfair for IPL teams as they are allowed only 4 foreign players and in other teams all are foreign players."

I see. If NK wins, its normal. But if somehow MI wins, it is fixed? What kind of logic is this?

What if I comeup with a new conspiracy theory? Its all fixed by the organisers so that LL qualifies even after a shitty performance as a Pakistani team in the main event will mean more $$. :afridi

I never contribute to conspiracy theories but tbh it seemed a little odd that only after they were 75 did they actually start looking for the target. I am not saying there was anything deliberate but seemed a little odd for my liking

LOL CLT20 organizers would have Mumbai in the main event ahead of even Pakistan National team let alone Lahore :P
 
Bumrah is terrible.

I cringe every time I see him bowl. I wonder how his coaches let him bowl with such an ugly action.

Match is fixed, MI will lose this match and LL will through. Then it will be very easy for LL to make into semi Final.
 
If people think there's fixing going on or some dodgyness happening, why do you even bother following the game. Go watch football or something then. These conspiracy theories are getting quite pathetic now :facepalm:
 
I wonder if the umpires will have the guts to question this blatant throwing.
 
This is probably the only time when [MENTION=132954]Aman[/MENTION] and PP will join forces. We need to cherish the moment at best :D
