Wow can't believe it's been 25 years.

Amazing day, amazing moments.

Good work Red Devil.

Sadly it looks like another World Cup win could take a while.

What a day it was to be a 9 year old kid growing up in Pakistan. Pakistan was the world champion, the best team in the world, and all our players were superheroes. Wasim Akram was a rockstar, Imran Khan was the leader of the free world.

Thus began a lifetime of obsession with cricket, for myself and an entire generation of Pakistani children.

Excellent stuff Red Devil ! milk it! :))

@ The 92 win, Allah hu ! Allah hu ! Allah hu ! Allah hu ! Allah hu !

anyone born before 1985 probably have this Pakistani cricketing moment to look back too, but for many of us who were born after 85 we don't really have anything to look back to regarding Pakistan cricket.

The World T20 win didn't had that much maza, but i still remember how proud we felt for the next 12-16 months when were champions for the time. I always imagined what it would had been like with an actual World Cup

I remember after India got eliminated from the 92 WC,many Indians suported Pak to lift the trophy, was 8 years old Wasim was a super star for us alright

Can't wait!!

Our greatest ever sporting achievement - unparalleled...

Only romanticists can dream of a similar achievement right now in the 2017 CT and 2019 WC.

Great banner but Miandad's celebration in the semi needs to be incorporated into the banner. The man scored 5 fifties in the tournament including the semi and the final, and I can't even see a glimpse of him in the banner. Afridi is hero-worshipped for his fifties in the the semi and final in the World T20, and rightly so, but the overlooking of Miandad especially on an intellectual forum like this is criminal.

90% of the members on this forum weren't born or were too young to even witness the 92 WC. Afridi is hero worshiped because people witnessed his exploits first-hand.

I was in Pakistan when we won. Its my only time to be in a country when its won a flagship sporting event. Just remember its something England and South Africa have not experienced. Be proud.

I belong to that 90 percent myself but if we're going to pay homage to our greatest achievement since our creation (apart from the nukes and the Edhi foundation) might as well do it properly. We can't take Miandad's exploits away from him and he deserves to have a glimpse of his face on the banner at least.

Even if Afridi didn't perform in the World T20 he would still be worshipped because of his manic batting-style which rarely came off. The hero worship stems from his fastest century in his first ever innings in international cricket which also officially makes him the youngest century maker ever as well, and he deserves all the plaudits in the world for that, but the 90% were too young to even witness that and didn't see the exploit first-hand.

Remember this very well. Me and my friends were so angry at South Africa being unfairly knocked out and all of us supported Pakistan in the final!! What a bowling performance by Akram it was. 2 perfect examples of reverse swing - those deliveries to Lamb and Chris Lewis

I recall it was Ramadaan and we stayed up all night.
Lots of Indian support for Pakistan at the uni I was studying at.
No great celebrations, due to Ramadaan, but It was funny to see a number of people celebrating outside Birmingham Central Mosque in the afternoon.
I must have watched the Highlights over a 100 times... a truly memorable occasion.

Red Devil has hit it outta the park :gayle

Awesome work.

Remember it well. As it was Ramadan, it made the win even more sweeter. My, my cousin and brother took a trip to Green Street in the car with the Pakistan flags draping out. Even though it was around 3pm UK time, there was a fair few cars doing the same.

Great memories.
