Concussion substitute : What is the criteria for choosing a replacement player?

Shadab Khan was not happy when Naseem Shah came onto the field. Apparently he replaced Andre Russell due to concussion.

Now concussion rules are that a same type of player needs to come up. Now Andre Russell being an all rounder was replaced by a pace bowler.

Shadab was not happy, and good to see him take a stand and come on to the field. His team management did nothing.

Although in hindsight, Naseem playing is clearly a blessing in disguise for the opposition so Shadab is probably happy with the outcome

I believe substitutions should only be allowed for same skill set players. Right now if a batsman gets hit on the helmet while playing then can easily not come to field and then in an extra bowler.

Yeah, it was pretty sneaky to get Naseem Shah in. Apparently Quetta have an allrounder called Abdul Nasir in the squad. He is a spinner rather than a pace bowler, but that would be more fair.

Agreed. It seems like barely any deliberation was done. I'd like to see how this would have been settled in an international match, to see what the standard is supposed to be.

Same happened in 1st T20 between India and Australia last year when Jadeja was replaced by Chahal.

However, Langer and Australians couldn't do anything as they were scared of Kohli. Ultimately, Chahal got MOM too.

A bowler can replace an AR after he's done batting but never a specialist batsman

2 games and 2 concussion subs in back-to-back games for Pakistan against New Zealand in the ODI series... I think this rule does make sense because when a player gets injured and is unable to participate futhur then it gives an unfair advantage to opposition.. This rule negates that.

It shows utter lack of technique from pak pathetic batsmen.usman looked like he need another con sub at any moment
