What's new

Congratulations India on winning ICC T20 World Cup 2024

Unlucky South Africa.

An epic final. Not the one-sided finals we have seen in recent decades. Both teams should be proud of themselves. India never lost hope and kept coming at South Africa. This is what cricket is all about.

Rohit Sharma captained his team wonderfully.

People will complain a long time about the pace of Kohli’s inning, but without his knock, this game would have ended a long time ago in South Africa’s favor. He played according to the situation and handed his team the victory yet again. A champion player who always steps up when the stakes are high.

The way Kohli batted and some of the bowlers bowled is how big players make a mark in big games. They keep fighting on despite the odds being against them.

And that catch by Sky was just sublime.

Enjoy the celebrations. They are well deserved.

Good job India. I'm so happy for Rohit. But now he should retire after this. He got what he wanted. He should not overdo it and try to win ct 2025 and wc 2027 and play at the age of 40.

But I'm happy his torture is over. Tough like SA but great job on makram being an amazing captain

Jasprit Bumrah makes it a 16 over innings for the opposition. You simply don't hit his 4 overs.

Congratulations India - those emotional scenes tell you what international cricket STILL means. Franchise cricket is a financial juggernaut yes, but winning a World Cup for your nation is remembered for immortality.

Congratulations India… still not believe thae we won World Cup…. It’s a unbelievable match…India snatched victory from the jaws of defeat

Got to say India won that rather than SA throwing it away. India were outstanding under pressure and that catch by Sky was awesome. Deserved winners. SA I know people will say they choked perhaps they did but they did not disgrace themselves and that Klassen masterclass against the Indian spin attack was something else.

One of the best finals ever.

To see the raw emotions of Dravid, Rohit - amazing.

The shot where Rohit drops to the ground after winning is one of the best ever.

SKY redeemed himself. The best catch in T20 WC history, he caught the WC!

Kohli now has the ICC triple.

Finally a great send off to Dravid - finally, a WC to a steller career.

There goes the argument of the last 10 years icc trophy count :p .

Will need to come up with something, but for that, either Pakistan needs to win something, or I start supporting another team.

The 10 year trophy banter will end here. it was fun messing with you guys. The status qou has changed.

As a Pakistani I'm in awe of India and wish partition never happened. One is below gutter level, the other is world champion.

Well done Indian cricketers.
Please stop. Partition is the best thing that could have happened.

Last 50 overs trophy is the next to hold on.
Just kidding Indian friends, enjoy the moment!

Hardik is so unfairly hated by Indian fans. Steps up big time when playing PAK/ICC KO's etc.

Who cares if MI fails under him lol.

Well done India.

I hardly watched any of this World Cup but I believe this final was a good one so will catch the highlights later...

Rohit gets so much flack but he's delivered a cup, same with Kohli..
they can retire as true legend of Indian cricket.

WE DID IT

Team India’s ICC TROPHY drought is over. Tears of joy and pride are flowing. This victory is a testament to our team’s resilience and spirit.

Proud to be an Indian cricket fan today and always!

Congratulations every indian fans here .

Don't troll anyone today .lets enjoy the precious moments .

Wanted SA to win. But I know many Indians, got few close friends. I’m happy for India, they deserve it and it’s been long overdue for India to win a ICC tournament as a huge cricketing nation with billion plus people and so much it invests in cricket.

Congratulations to India and its fans.

Commiserations to South Africa, unlucky. The one that got away for sure. Better luck next time, hope you win a icc event within next few icc tournaments.

India’s trophy banter ends here, but Pakistan’s started as it’s 8 years now

People forget the IPL trophy the day the final gets over. It's all in the moment. After that its just the aggregate trophies that matter.

I still remember when India won the 2011 WC , the 1996 WC QF and SF, the loss to zimbabwe in the 99 WC , the 2003 WC final thrashing and the 2007 early exit. You are right that world cups have an emotional component to them that bilaterals and league cricket cant come close to matching

True. One more minute till midnight. Will start trolling PAK after that.

I wanted SA to win but I am happy for Rohit and Bumrah. They both are legendary cricketers and quite humble.

I am guessing this is probably Rohit's final T20I game also. Great time to retire.

Congratulations to all. Selectors deserve credit for selecting Pandya, Surya Dube etc. Indian fans were not so confident before wc started.

What a glorious achievement under our Modi ji. With a leader like him, the world is under our feet. Waiting to hear his victory speech to inspire every Indian.
100% he wont miss the chance to take a photo holding the cup and posters will be printed with Mudiji on the forefront and the team somewhere in the background

Congrats to all the Indians. Also, as an Indian fan, I deeply admire all the Pak admins and posters on this forum who hv appreciated our team's performance in this WT20. Thank You All

Bumrah bought both the Pakistan and today's game back from the brink. There is 0% chance India would have won without him
i will give little credit to Bumrah and more credit to Rohit. The timing of when he brings Bumrah is phenomenal. Same situation Babar has been in every icc tournament and Babar has often decided to save overs and give it to other lunatics.

Even in this match, 17th over went to Bumrah, and with his qouta finish, one was wondering who would rohit use. Rohit out captained everyone here in this tournament

Nah, Pakistan would have found a way to throw it away regardless.

South African got short changed by Klassen’s irresponsible waft off Pandya. Bumrah went for the kill against sub-standard batters immediately.

This is a beginning. My least valued cup but you can see the future stretching out now that we've broken the voodoo. Legends are retiring but there's so much talent in the pipeline and there's enough continuity with Bumrah and Kuldeep have a few years still to go.

We'll get that elusive World Test Championship and the ODI Cup will be back as well.

Yup, my hope is that this open the floodgates and we win a couple more trophies

Not too sure. Pakistan and Australia will be back stronger.

But it is what it is. Jansen got thrashed when he bowled, Klaasen brought us back into the match, and we choked as is customary.

Proud of the guys to have broken the semi-final curse and finally provide the sport with a worthy final. Congratulations to India and their fans, best team in the tournament won in the end.

Feel sad for the Saffers, always been my 2nd team but atleast you reached a final this time.

You have a very talented bunch of players, you'll win 1 down the line

Glad Kohli finally got a trophy in a World Cup, let alone performing in the final.

India played brillaintly to win in the last 4 overs. I still think SA should have won, but Bumrah brilliant overs and Catch was Surya had just one inch distance from rope.

Australia would have not lost from that position. Simple. I don't think SA will get better chance to win a WC.

Legendary performance from him today. He had to do something he hadn't done all tournament and bowl the final over because Rohit had run out of options.

Well, Klas top knock made it run a ball so yes, it was hugely in favor of SA. But It was the highest total in T20 WC finals and it was not looking so easy before Klas made India spinners irrelevant.

Bumrah should perform in the final to be called a great. And he just turned the game on its head and won it. Generational bowler with steely nerves and sensational skills. Balls were zipping past the batsmen even in the 18th over. Both of his wickets were from getting the batsmen bowled while playing defensive shots. One leaving the batsmen and one that's cut in at pace. If that's not versatile, I don't know what is. Sensational!!!
