What's new

Congratulations Pakistan!

Mubarakan.

Hats off to Hafeez, Amir, Wahab and Shabab. Also the openers set the tone.

Congratulations.

Let the cliches commence after 1 win in 13 attempts.

Unpredictable.

Mercurial.

Cornered tigers.

One minute up, next minute down.

You never know which Pakistan will turn up.

You can never write Pakistan off.

They are so dangerous when they gain momentum.

You never know what you are going to get.

The only team that can be dismissed for 100 against West Indies and beat England in the next game.

I hope I didn’t miss any cliches.

I see it's gotten worse. You really should see someone for this.

But I'll say it again, bro, it is okay to lose! You don't have to downplay your happiness or joy in moments like these just out of fear of losing and getting hurt in the future. It is just a game. Why so sensitive?

Congratz Pakistan. Who would have thought Pakistan would be the first team to win the battathon battle against England.

Great all round performance from Pakistan. I am not surprised at all and I don't understand why PPers are so surprised. We all know the ability of Pakistan team, they can beat any top level team on a given day.

It's good to discuss the performance, strengths and weekeness but this "Congratulations Pakistan" thread is unnecessary. Pakistan didn't win the world up nor is a minnow team.

PS - I am not Jealous, desperatedly wanted Pakistan to beat England.

Jeez. I would get it if this was for the CT17 semi but for a group stage match this is not needed. We aren't minnows.
Our aim is to go through to the semis. If we don't achieve that then we've failed.

Congratulations to all PP supporters.
Lose to Windies one day badly and then win against top team the next day - that is Pakistan!

I can’t believe I’m alive to see the day Pakistan are congratulated so much in beating England in an odi

Not just any tournament, but the World Cup after 11 ODI losses.
Not just any ODI, but a World Cup ODI
Not just any team, but WC Favourites.
Not just any victory, from scoring the lowest in the WC, to the highest in the WC, at the same ground.

How much did you lose betting against Pakistan? Be honest now.

Write off Pakistan at your own peril.

I can’t believe I’m alive to see so called Pakistani supporters who belittle Pakistan's victory today. Time to change the flag you represent. I hear the colours of Red and, White, are going cheap down market.

Wow
R u new on this forum?

Congratulations.

Let the cliches commence after 1 win in 13 attempts.....

:))

But thing is, all those cliches work for non-Pakistanis. Was the first game that made sense to me to start watching the tournament with. In fact, messaged a friend saying Pak seem the most interesting team to follow this WC.

If Pak get thrashed in a game I can lol big. And when they win, it will likely happen because of some stunning performances and that will be fun.

My heartiest congrats to Pakistan for defeating hot favourites England yesterday. It gave vibrations of an epic twist in a Hollywood classic.Truly magnificient see the Pakistani spirit embezzle like it did yesterday. It literally looked as though a new life was infused into the Pakistani players. From the depths of despair Pakistan reached the height of glory.Pakistan resembled the great revival of an army which looked dead and buried and then spectacularly ressurected itself from the grave. One almost wrote Pakistan off after being betaken like a club side against outsiders West Indies in the previous game and the result almost looked inevitable here for England to register a thumping victory.Imagine losing 4 games in a trot including 4 against England iteslf which had just finished. It revived memories of some instances when Pakistan rose like a phoenix from the Ashes like in 1992 world cup,2017 ICC trophy and 2009 t-20 world cup.It proves that when the Pakistan spirit blazes at its zenith they have no equals .The David literally vanquished the Goliath yesterday. To me the best ressurection ever in world cup cricket history.

This was a great win and I'm absolutely delighted. Just a shame I missed the end as I was at work, was following and so were the other people in the game I was umpiring as they seemed more interested in the Eng Pak game than their own game. Gutted I didn't get to witness it all live, watching the highlights wasn't the same. Lots of Pakistanis were delighted, seeing the celebrations of the fans on social media was amazing and I feel proud. :)

Nice feeling sat in the Trent Bridge press box for that win after having to sit through the humiliation of the ODI series.

Those journos who were laughing and mocking Pakistan in the ODI series were rather silent yesterday :)
