What's new

Congratulations to India on a moral victory for this series

Just like Stokes missing out?
What part of his injury do you not understand? I know you aren’t the sharpest tool in the box, but surely, even you should be smart enough to understand the difference between a player not playing due to injury and a player opting out because he is afraid of being injured.

Thats why I was in favour of Kuldeep being picked as a specialist spinner.
I think unless we get our team with good prospects at 3 and 5, gg won't dare with kuldeep in sena.I see only 2 matches outside sub continent ( nz , 26 oct ) in this wtc .so kuldeep will be in all other matches .

I fear for these FTBs come Ashes.
Jamie smith was awful against the moving ball or on spicy pitches.he was the same guy who scored runs for fun on flat tracks.Am not yet sold on Brooks.Still he has to prove a lot especially in Aus, Sub continent.

Bumrah had an ankle issue in the last game that caused him to be off the field long enough to not be able to bowl for an hour after coming back. Have also seen fan videos of him being helped up the stairs.

Not sure if it was a proper injury. But to claim that he didn't play because he was worried about getting injured seems unreasonable. Not really defending him, because if he did indeed have a primadonna moment here, he will be licking his sore wounds right now. Just like Kohli did when he left Australia after 1 test match and we went on to pull off the most remarkable victories to win the series.

He didn't play a single game at home against Kiwis!

Both are the same decision to avoid further injuries.

Bumrah had a knee injury.

I did float this theory that they would pretend he is injured to save face for all parties.

It is very convenient that he got injured in a match that he was due to miss anyway after saying he would only be playing three matches in this series.

I know you guys buy any propoganda but I'm surprised even someone like you would buy this story.

He played in first match .He got injured before second match and got a surgery before ct.so he wasn't selected for aus tour. But am sure he may not have played there as all our batsmen were awful.

This toilet paper newspaper is banned by Pakistan so I can’t open this and I don’t want to waste my VPN on accessing this toilet paper, but maybe next time, try reading the articles that you quote.

This is the problem with that Chat GPT generation. You don’t use your brain but in your case, it might not be accessible. Even a quick cursory look reveals that this was “precautionary”, which means that he was not actually injured, he just didn’t want to put his body on the line which is normal for a coward like Bumrah.

Stokes on the other had his shoulder muscle torn, it is an active injury not a precautionary situation. There are no parallels between the two.

Totally in awe of this Indian team, thought they thoroughly deserved more than 2-2. They had all the odds stacked against them -

1. Young team assembling under a new captain in away conditions. No Bumrah too for a couple matches as anticipated.
2. Losing all 5 tosses straight! (Kohli-Rohit’s curse in losing tosses in crucial matches continues!)
3. Fast bowling still very much iffy. No consistent 3-4th seamer.
4. Injuries to fast bowlers at crucial junctures.
5. Dropped catches. Jaiswal cost us the first match we should have won.
6. Playing catchup throughout the series.

But so good to see that our intensity never dropped a bit. Our boys took the fight on till that last Yorker. Well done team, so proud of these boys.

If it was not injury, he would not have been released.

He was released because there is no white ball cricket on this tour. This was the last match, and there was no point in keeping him around when he is not going to play. Better for him to go home and rest, that is if he can make it in one piece.

He needs a “fragile, handle with care” sticker on his forehead.

My bad.

But Kuldeep has been most shabbily treated Indian cricket, that's a fact.

Of course. You folks can’t put a sock in it and breed like rabbits. Why wouldn’t FIFA and the PL tap into the huge market?
Pakistan has an even higher TFR and population growth rate than India. You are the ones breeding like rabbits.

Just difference is that unlike India, Pakistan has no growing economy so the country remains poor. This gap will grow and grow and Pakistanis will watch it impotently.

LOL. India is completely irrelevant in football.
Point is not football but the Indian market and India as a country as economy rises.

Who can forget this image that made Pakistanis cry.

India is becoming richer year by year and will join the powerful of the world shaping pop culture. Pakistan remains a poor third world country, unable to digest it.

I get it, it's human nature.

I think this was a great start for this young team. Great learning experience for the youngsters. Ditto for the captain too. Who is young himself.

The team came out ahead in terms of what they achieved. And even further on what they would have learnt from this.

This series yet again proved how tough 5-tests series are especially for away team. Anyone can fluke a drawn series or even a won series in 2-tests series.

But you are properly tested in a 5-tests series, there is nowhere to hide especially away.

As a fan while disappointing I would still take it because we literally are setting up.
Better Indian trams have collapsed but this one didn’t

5 tests in modern era are even tougher as they are condensed and almost back to back.

Back in the day a tour of England would last forever, there would be large gaps between tests, lots of warm up matches, and even tour matches between games to fine tune the line up and get players used to different conditions. There is just no time for recovery in the type of schedule we had in this series.

Correct.

During those days, there were even 6-match Test series and 7-match ODI series. Good old days.

Wisden shared an interesting observation. Broad took part in a 5 test series that lasted almost the same length as this series and bowled more overs than Siraj in that series. Anderson has bowled more overs in many series. If you look carefully You see many Anderson, Couple of cummins. Bumrah once which was technically 4+1 series. It is not uncommon one bowler bowling a lot of overs in a 5 test series.

After 2010

Anderson 223 overs 2017 Ashes
Anderson 213 overs 2010 Ashes
Cummins 211 vovers 2019 Ashes
Anderson 205 overs 2013 Ashes
Anderson 204 overs 2021 Patudi Trophy
Anderson 199 overs 2021 Patudi Trophy
Cummins 197 overs 2017 Ashes
Broad 195 overs 2017 Ashes
Hazlewood 190 overs 2017 Ashes
Anderson 190 oers 2013 Ashes
Siddle 189 overs 2013 Ashes
Mitchel Johnson 188 overs 2013 Ashes
Bumrah 187 overs 2021 Patudi Trophy
Broad 187 oves 2023 Ashes
SIraj 185 overs 2025 AT Trophy

India beat an England B team, rested Captain, rested Archer, 3 rookie seamers, and 10 men at that too, and now Siraj is a Goat & Lion, and Indians are letting off fireworks as if they've won the proper WC. The very cult members thought India was losing. All there in the commentary.

England didn't care about drawing the test series either, the Ashes prep is more important than a fake rivalry.

India beating England in England has always been a tough pill to swallow for a certain British demographic. :ROFLMAO:
And the fact that their "own" team sucks and can't do the same and they have to watch Pakistan get whooped by England often on English shores.

@nish_mate @saimayubera This guy Is the walking talking version of the below meme every time India gives him tears.

It's sad really. They sit for hours and hate watch with clenched teeth but only end up with tears and coping mechanisms..

"England were prepping for Ashes in a series decider :murali" tells you everything you need to know.

Regardless of what happens in the next few overs, India played some wonderfully competitive cricket and kept genuine test cricket alive through their efforts and perseverance. This is a young side, and they will take a lot of experience and learnings from this tour.

Some key areas that should be noted and applauded

  1. Excellent cricket in the first test, had some key moments went their way they could have been up.
  2. A fighting comeback in the second test, Shubman Gill showed the world why he has the potential to be captain fantastic, and Akash Deep showed that he can make the ball talk like great bowlers
  3. An agonising defeat in the third, some lower order heroics unfortunately went unrewarded, had luck been on their side they would have won this match.
  4. Another fighting draw England were beaten black and blue by India
  5. One foot on the boundary rope away from victory.

In addition they have unearthed some future ATG's in Washington, Jaiswall and Gill while trail blazing the way with workforce management with Bumrah. In years to come India's handling of their prized asset will be reflected upon and become the new normal in cricket. Moreover, many posters thought this Indian attack would concede 800 runs regularly, that did not happen, not even once!|

They will likely lose this match, but I don't think they should be mocked or ridiculed. Only small moments in all of these matches had to go their way and they could have been 5-0 winners of the series. Thats how fine the margins were.
What moral victory? Those jokers could not even win 1 toss out of 5 LOL! Congrats to @Devadwal @Bhaag Viru Bhaag @sweep_shot @Sachin fan for winning 3 out of last 17 tests

Bless. The cult are hurt.

The cult have been exposed in this test series. They never backed their team, and now Mohammed Siraj - has become some Indian test saviour. Move aside the GOAT, here comes the LION!

The Indian cricketing world and generation praising Siraj for his patriotism, commitment, determination need to take a break from their Kool aid, TikTok videos, and IPL cheer leaders.

What you see from Siraj was the norm in the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s Test cricket. His efforts in the IPL world might seem out of this world, but in normal human terms its referred to as playing for your country, not your contract. It's his job. Move on!

Siraj in Karachi would be worthless tapeball mohalla bowler. Indians are forced to hype him because their hero Bhumrah turned out to be a fraud.

Yup exactly, Bumrah the Olympian javelin thrower is and will remain the fraud.

Meanwhile the cult in a dilemma given Siraj is a Muslim.

They are finding it very difficult. The knives were ready for Siraj after his dropped catch. I wouldn’t be surprised at some Indians seething that Siraj won it for them

India should have won this series 4-0 or 3-1. Overall India bowled better than England in this series and had a better, more experienced in their prime pace attack and better spinners.

You need experience to grab key moments. Gill's first series. Made some terrible moves like introducing Washington after 70 overs. Not picking Kuldeep. He will learn. Stokes is a seasoned veteran captain now. For example Archer wanted a field change to protect boundary. STokes refused. Everyone knows what to do in his team. But Gill can't do the same with his team members. Gill is still learning the captaincy.

Given the trend of Pak cricket and the "talent" coming out of Pak, are Pak fans going to reduced to satisfying themselves with god cricket being played by other teams and getting their jollies by underplaying Indian cricket victories?

Discuss.
