He didn’t strike with the new ball and most of the dismissals were gifts. On any other day, this would have been a 1/40 or 2/35 type performance.
Anyway, congratulations to him because he deserves a slice of luck. He has been poor for the last two years but also a tad unlucky.

If anything, he was unlucky not to get a few more wickets with the way he bowled. The gifts made up for the bad luck.
Which wicket was a gift?

Congrats.
His Champions Trophy 2017 moment has arrived. Will ride this wave for at least 4 more years.
This is an absolute bowling pitch watch Pakistan roll over for sub 100 scoreJust amazing comeback by Amir and Pak. Gotto win this. Only Pakistan can lose 9 games to two teams and smash them back when it matters. Peak Pak!!

Just going by Mamoon's logic. The reality is all those wickets were created by pressure. The lbw yorker was a genuinely good delivery that beat Carrey.

Exactly, he conceded just one boundary in his 10 overs. His accuracy was simply phenomenal.
Bring up his first 24 deliveries in his first spell, and let me see how you explain the high percentage of play and misses by both Finch and Warner. He didn’t strike with the new ball and most of the dismissals were gifts. On any other day, this would have been a 1/40 or 2/35 type performance.

People can say what they want, but I refuse to acknowledge or praise a team that is ranked 6th. I don’t have any love for mediocrity anymore.
Unless this team reaches the top 3 in rankings, I am not interested in giving them any credit.

This. Only few deliveries were good. Most of them were gifts. Reminds me of Wahab Riaz 5 for against India in World Cup

Did you even watch his bowling or just came came on here to spew your trademark negativity again?
You don't get wickets by beating the batsman. The fact is that he took 0 wickets in his opening spell in bowling-friendly conditions, and that setup the game for Pakistan. Had Pakistan batted first in those conditions, Starc and Cummins would have reduced us to a rubble, and there is no way we would have posted a defendable total.

Starc & Cummins.
Bowlers hunt in pairs, you said Starc & Cummins would have reduced us to rubble.
How is Amir going to do anything when he has bowling partners in Hasan and Shaheen who were leaking runs?
So do you rate them in 20/20? As they are def top 3 or is that "just not cricket"
Later in the innings when Amir took those wickets in a heap, other bowlers were still leaking runs. Ultimately, everyone is responsible for his own performance. Amir did not strike with the new ball and has struggled to strike with the new ball for two years because of his own failings, and they cannot be projected on others.

We are certainly much better in T20s compared to the other two formats, but I don't agree that we are the best in the world. India is comfortably a better side.
