What's new

Congratulations to India for winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2025

Best team in the tournament won. Its one thing to have everything in your favour but another thing to fully exploit it and play good cricket to stay undefeated throughout the tournament. India has been the best limited overs team for a long while and this ICC tournament showed it.

Just to add, if Pakistan was in India's position, they would have found a way to screw it up which our incompetent, over rated cricketers are notorious for.

Wo minimum ek week ke liye underground ho gya .

Sour grapes, padosis. Admit it: you are nowhere near us, neither in cricket, nor in anything else.

Aur…Sunday kaisa raha padosiyon? 😆
We are nowhere near you, laikin tum humain akelay na rehnay dena😉

India has been amazing in most Icc tournaments for a long hole now. They just choke in crucial matches and get eliminated or lose in the finals.
With a batting line up that can bat till no.9 now, India is all set to dominate. Weak lower order was the bane of India until recently. With that fixed, it is no wonder they are winning titles too.

Unbeaten victory is special. Very well balanced side with everyone contributing and stepping up at the right time.

I don’t buy the travel advantage, that’s the nature of sport. The big advantage is picking the squad for one playing condition.

Well we have temporarily shut up our detractors from Trudeauistan and Ozziestan. The love we continue to receive from Pakistan keeps us humble as always.

2035 also for some pakistan, icc = bcci, their performance on the field from bad to worse, India keeps on progressing.

Some people can't enjoy life because their insides are running on pure hatred instead of happiness which must be quite exhausting. Funny thing is they think everyone is like them. :inti
I was with my Indian once who asked me how Pakistanis view Indians and my response was, we are indifferent and no one ever discusses or talks about India unless there’s a cricket match. Which is true. My friend said “Pakistan lives in Indians heads rent free”. Hoshiarpuri’s posts reminds me of that.

This is India’s best team in a while and the win was expected. They just had to beat Australia which they did and got their hands on the trophy.

The competition for India has been weak recently which has tremendously helped them win and mask their flaws but full credit to them for being a dominant team consistently and not letting other teams come out on top. India has a chance to remain unbeatable for a while until other teams recoup and find their strengths.

Exactly.

Quality of teams has gone down worldwide.

Windies - Declined
SL - Declined
Pakistan - Declined
England - Declined

So, there are only 3-4 good teams currently. :inti

When India was weak and poor before did we cry about australia winning the cups? Then it was all them being world champions and everyone else boot licking

This was the perfect opportunity for Rohit, Virat, Ritika, and Anushka to retire on a high after winning the trophy. But nope, they seem to prefer the classic Indian chittar treatment and a dose of humiliation before calling it quits. :facepalm :inti

Looks like they want to play in 2027 WC. :inti

Would have been great to see these 2 retire with their heads held high with a trophy in their hands but no, that's not how Indian psyche works!

They love to squeeze every ounce of the gravy train.

Maybe Ritika and Anushka aren't ready to retire from appearing on the TV screen just yet. :inti

After so many knock out punches, 2 straight dominating tournament wins is pleasant surprise. Next t20 wc win will surely soothe a lot of Indian fans frustration/disappointment over the years.

Congratulations to India. For all the criticism India are 23-1 in their last 3 ICC tournaments and would have likely beaten Australia if they had won the toss in that final or if they hadn't messed around with the pitch. Richly deserved and that is 2 unbeaten tournament wins in a row @Devadwal @Rajdeep @Hitman @Mesozoic @saimayubera @Ab Fan @Aang_The_last_airbender @Varun and to think you lost all the tosses - that is a big disadvantage on these Dubai pitches, the ball was spinning much more for NZ yesterday.

Rivalry aside, I am sad at how far behind we have fallen. We need a complete revamp of our system. Hopefully we can win the T20 WC next year @Rana @Dr_Bassim

Thank you brother. Your highly intellectual and fact driven posts during the whole tournament had made it even more special. Hopefully you will stick around for future tours as well.

You won't win t20 world cup next year, but you can qualify for knockouts if Rizwan and Babar never play t20 cricket ever again.

Good point. I would be embarrassed to make fun of winners unless you go toe to toe with them in events. But BD fans have no shame. Not even in million years they are not going to be a top team. Treat them as Brazil, Argentine supporters from countries that don't even qualify for the world cup.

I will definitely stick around but I am losing interest in cricket. With Rizwan and Babar gone and with India cleaning up trophies, cricket is interesting me less and less. I don't want to feel like a BD fan where I am fine with team always losing. (with all due respect to @sweep_shot and @Bhaag Viru Bhaag ). I just hope Riz Bar and Pak find form and we lift the T20 WC in India.

Firstly thank you to people like @MenInG and all who give Indian fans a platform to troll, engage in banter, but most of all, express their love for cricket and their team.

Congratulations is also due to the most far-sighted poster on here @Mamoon, who saw this coming from a distance and gave this entire tournament a miss :srt
Thank you for the tag.

I am not an active poster anymore as I have moved on in life, but I have made a guest appearance to give my thoughts on the CT.

I thought it was a joke of a tournament with a joke of a champion. Surely, no one can take India’s tainted victory seriously.

They played all matches in one venue on a slow pitch carefully curated to suit their team. They played Australia C in the semifinal and played New Zealand without Henry, the best pacer of the tournament, in the final.

It is arguably the most forgettable CT ever along with the most forgettable winners minus the 2002 fiasco.

It is also pretty funny to see Indians pretend that the CT is a serious tournament. I guess it is their sad compensation for the November 19 2023 choke. The CT has suddenly become important and relevant again. Embarrassing.

Australia and Pakistan were hit by multiple injuries unlike India who were only missing Bumrah, England are shambles at the moment, South Africa and New Zealand are nearly teams. India had a free run at the cup.

This CT would probably rank as the least significant trophy ever won by India.

Lots of veteran posters seems to have moved on in 2025 and are no longer active here.

I guess @Saj no longer posts actively as well.

Mamoon brother, do you post less now that everyone keeps quoting your history where you took more U turns than anyone in PP history? There are posts where you called CT 2017 a fluke and Gill a better batsman than anyone in Pak history (lol!) - do you still stand by them?

Excellent post.

CT 2025 was a big farce due to BCCI's antics.
