What's new

Congratulations to the West Indies. They haven't lost a Test match when chasing 200 or below!

Saw this amazing stat on Twitter. We have seen teams lose games when having to chase low scores. To never lose when chasing under 200 is amazing. I was actually surprised to see this stat to be honest.

West Indies are a good test side under Holder and should not be compared with the disastrous sides they have had in the last 20 years or so.

To be honest they had some jittery moments but hung on - 4 wickets is a slender margin but a win is a win.

West Indies generally do well during 4th innings. I remember they once chased down 400+ against Aussies in early-2000's (home Test though).

Remember that. Achievement regardless

That is mighty impressive, perhaps an extreme but when you look at how many chases Pakistan have botched below 200 you begin to value this WI record even more, it is no mean feat regardless on a deteriorating wicket or just dealing with the pressure if a chase in any case

Before praising the Windies too much, it would be worth seeing how many chases under 200 they've actually had.

Pakistan may have lost a lot of sub-200 chases but at least they were in a position to chase so few. I would imagine that the Windies have been so bad in the last 30 years that there have been very few sub-200 chases.

I've never lost a match when chasing 200 or below in the fourth innings. Doesn't mean I am the next Sachin :sachin . It just means I've never had the chance to do it!

They have to chase 200 or less 60 times and not lost any. That is a pretty good record.

They have been pretty bad in the last 20 years or so but they still can chase low scores unlike Pakistan who have collapsed to low scores plenty of times.
