What's new

"When it's 13-0 or 10-1, it's not a rivalry anymore": Suryakumar Yadav

First of all, don't call it a political rivalry, Pak as country is nothing in front of India w.r.t any aspects be it economy, be it army and defence, be it finance, be it education, be it sports, be it medicine..etc, there is no department pakistan is competing against India to call it a Rival..only thing that make you relevant is your terrorists whose only job is to destabilize India with the support of Pakistan army.. both in the battle ground as well as cricket ground, we have blasted you to the core frequently.. whatever happening is a political tensions at the aftermath of pahalgam attack by pak terrorists..if such event did not occur, India would have watched this match just as one another match with any associate nation..thats the reason we despise the ICC and BCCI for making business out of peoples emotion..this tournament could have been postponed till the tension settled down, so that cricket can be watched as cricket..but these greedy people wants to milk money from us..
It’s because of idiots like you that this a political rivalry.

People confuse sports rivalry

India-Pakistan sports rivalry is deeply rooted in a shared, complex, and often hostile history. It has little to do with the recent record or overall H2H between the teams.

No matter what they say publicly, given a choice between Australia and Pakistan, an Indian fan would not want to lose to Pakistan and vice versa
s
You are confused about sports rivalry.. sports rivalry is always to do with the sports..
It’s because of idiots like you that this a political rivalry.
Says an Idiot..
It’s because of idiots like you that this a political rivalry.
Only an Idiot quotes others as idiot without posting any facts..as I said we don't consider you a rival nor a political rivalry..you are more an irritating mosquito that we like to beat everytime with a racket..

As @Mamoon say " They deserved this humiliation " when you play like This in the name of intent.
Making tall claims in pressers is one thing, but doing it on the pitch in the moment is another matter.

We can only run our mouths because we don’t have the talent and the skill to deliver on the pitch.

Extremely well said. He stated an obvious fact and it puts more pressure on the Pakistan team. The likes of Kohli always tried to please the fans in Pakistan as well, so could never say something like this. This is India’s era of dominance and there’s no denying that. Pakistan might win a match here and there but overall India will continue to be the superior, dominant team.

@Mamoon is absolutely right about Indian fans. Most of them are too meek and afraid of losing. Even if Pakistan reaches the final and somehow beats India, so what? That doesn’t change the bigger picture. There’s a reason why Pakistanis celebrate a victory against India so much. For them it’s a massive achievement. For us, beating them is normal and expected.

The rivalry of course exists for reasons outside cricket, but as the Indian cricket team captain, he made the right statement. Not a fan of his sarcastic approach to the media though. (C) stands for captain, not clown. He should show a tad bit more respect to that title.

I am not a fan of SKYs tulleybazi in batting and the reason I call him Shoonya Kumar Yadav. But boy oh boy, did he rile up Pakistan or what on 2 consecutive sunday's.

Bro...has single handedly destroyed Pakistan off the field.

:klopp

Just doing bakchodi this tournament. Sent Arshdeep and Harshit above him vs Oman.

These comments should make the Pakistani players blood boil. They should be so fired up that they end up killing Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and then go to war with India in the final and beat them to give Surya a shut up call.

However, you can’t expect anything from cowards like Hesson and Agha and these crap players. They will fold vs India in the final if they end up fluking past Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

We are not fluking past both Sri Lanka or Bangladesh as they have played some good cricket in this tournament, while we have scrapped by associate teams and got two poundings by India.

Farhan saying 'we will meet India again in the final' is downright stupid and pretty much sums up the dumb nature of our players.

That's so weak :yk :misbah
@Bhaijaan is getting old. :yk :inti

SKY ..this rivalry is more than the results and you know it.

If, and its a big IF, you find yourself losing a final to Pakistan next Sunday, the stat will still be irrelevant, however, the noises in your head and around you will remind you of the depth of this rivalry.

Always putting the cart before the horse.

First get into the final.

I remember in 23 WC, Pakistanis after the NZ game were already planning strategies for the Kolkata semi vs India lol.

He’s speaking facts, is SKY.

Except that that it’s not just facts, Gautam Gambhir & co are playing the role of puppet masters, with a non cricket agenda, and forcing a weak captain to politicise a charged situation.

The way he was smiling and said things calmly..it didn't look forced

The beauty of sport is that it usually finds a way to humble you.
Yea.. As a captain i would never say such things even against Oman team. I think it is more to do with outside issues rather than cricket itself. There is no more virat kohli in the side. So it is going to be different from here on. But they rarely meet each other these days. This is a rare occasion where they are likely to play 3 matches if both qualify.

If it is normal and expected then India shouldn't be losing the final.

This isn’t about whether it’s labeled a rivalry, it’s about what it represents.. But if we look at history, Pakistan held the upper hand throughout the 80s and 90s, World Cups being the notable exception.

It’s understandable that some Indian fans prefer to dismiss the idea of a rivalry altogether, especially in the current climate. Over time, political narratives have influenced perceptions, and for many, that has shaped how they view anything related to Pakistan.

But let’s be honest, when India plays Pakistan, the energy is different. The anticipation, the pressure, the reactions, it all means more. A loss to any other team stings, but a loss to Pakistan lingers.

That, in itself, speaks volumes. Had the result gone the other way by even 30 runs, the conversation would feel very different right now.

Cosplay as Indians 😄

Indians and making things up. If you repeat something enough times it doesn’t become true.
Tell this to reuters

Against India? How so? He has criticized a player, not India.
Indian player and Indian team

Anything against India likely to find support in pakistan.
You answered me twice for some reason.. and no I’m not.. but i understand you have become binary, you are with us or against us.

What with us or against us?

Sky has received little criticism in India

So you are trying to justify your criticism of sky by mentioning pakistsnis

There’s political rivalry but little cricketing rivalry in last few years

Cricketing rivalry is ashes its pure sports rivalry no political angle

This article is as ancient as your mindset.

Do you know the meaning of cosplay? Pick up a dictionary, improve your English and come back.

Nobody cosplays as an Indian, nobody. Stop it. The hatred towards Indians is growing since Modi came to power. Wake up.

India is a lot of people you are stereotyping an opinion of many people.. I know many in south that don’t agree with his shenanigans.
As i said before he is trying to over correct himself after his meeting with Naqvi..

This was. 2010 so pakisatanis did identify themselves as Indians then but you dismissed the idea totally

India has become more assertive under Modi and isn’t willing to to surrender its interests for other countries. So some dis agreement is bound to to happen.our interest lies with israel andrussia if some people hste us for that so be it

Show me where in India was sky criticised if at all?

Sky should score some runs for a change and not indulge in this political nonsense.

The way he got dismissed for nought on a harmless delivery had me seething and then without a care in world, he just marched towards team dugout, chewing on his quite visible bubble-gum. That was helluva ugly.

You want to be seen as reincarnation of Viv Richards but I never saw bubble-gum showing out of Viv's mouth.
Because Viv chewed chewing gum not bubble gum 😊

The rivalry began to unravel in the mid or late 2000s I think, when India was beginning to see Aus more as a rival, at least in Tests (in the shorter formats Pak was still there).

In the early 2010s it virtually waned and there was not much organic hype (not taking media) about that series that Pak had eventually won (where Junaid Khan shone).

It’s manufactured by the media to generate revenue there’s not the feel you attach for ex with the Ashes, especially as rivalry is done in competitive but respectful mood while Indo/Pak clashes because of politics have evolved into something nastier.

We're definitely going to have a fall and drop a game one of these days...just hope it's not in the final. The level of confidence in India on winning these games against Pakistan is absurd - bordering on arrogance. We just can't maintain THIS level of dominance even if we are the far better team. Just by sheer bad luck, we're going to lose the odd game.

The game is too sanitized.
A bit of needle should be appreciated.

The onus is on Pakistan. Let's see what they can do. Right now, they are being toyed and mocked by a dangerous predator. Do they have any daleri?

Without performance any needling looks clownish.

Especially in T20 format it is impossible to win everything in sight. He should be more diplomatic.

LOL, dominated India so much till 2010 that India won both the Test and ODI series in their tour to Pakistan in 2004, won both the Test and ODI series in Pakistan's tour to India in 2007.
Pak won more head to heads. Test matches is above everything 12/9.

Also if u say icc events then is every pak india match not a world cup final in itself??? When it comes to this fixture no such thing as meaningless

The point is about the blatant lie that Pakistan dominated India till 2010.

What's the head to head till that period? Depends how one defines dominance.
Head to head is in Pakistan's favor in Tests and ODI's even now. That means Pakistan is dominating India now as well?
