Conor McGregor offers alcohol to Khabib knowing he's Muslim, then calls him "backward" for declining

Sounds like the bigoted raving lunatic McGregor got his rear end handed to him on a plate. Good news.

Great performance from Khabib in the octagon. Clearly he was burning with rage inside but remained focused on his work, which itself is a special skill. Conor did well in the first round with his defence, not allowing Khabib to get into a position to pound him but failed to do so in the second round and thats where the damage was done. From then on Khabib could afford to stand toe to toe knowing a tried, beat up Conor couldnt generate the power he needed for a knockout. Khabib is way ahead of anyone else in his division, a truly great MMA fighter and arguably has the potential to be the GOAT in this sport.

Khabib himself regrets the aftermath, it was unnecessary but I guess because he didn't punish Conor enough his blood boiled over when hearing obscene remarks from Conor's corner. It's understandable but a shame not to see him give the belt inside.

Dana needs to understand he allowed his boy to go far in the past and this was the result now.

Loved the aftermath. It seemed like one of those college gangfights. That guy in red shirt stole it lol

Khabib completely destroyed McGregor. Khabib came pretty close to ending it in the second round. Mcgregor was never really in it. Hardly showed any offense. Has no grappling skills whatsoever and fairly average defense once he gets taken to the ground.

Khabib shouldn't have jumped the octagon and attacked anyone. It was a little unnecessary. That being said, Conor wasn't any better. Aimed a few punches at one of Khabib's guys for no reason. The commentators were very hypocritical in the way they presented that situation. Suggesting Mcgregor was hit by sucker punches after the fight and that he was graceful in defeat. I don't really know how a class-less idiot like Mcgregor becomes a such a big media darling. It's shocking to see that he's a poster boy for so many young white males in America and I'm assuming in the British Isles as well.

Khabib should perhaps off McGregor some humble pie.

Agree entirely. Don't agree with what Khabib did, but it was a long time coming for McGregor. You talk so much smack, one time or another someone's gonna say enough is enough and put you in place.

Conor McGregor's Twitter account posts 'Islamophobic' tweet aimed at Khabib Nurmagomedov's wife

UFC champion Conor McGregor has been slammed for a 'Islamophobic' tweet aimed at Khabib Nurmagomedov's wife.

The 30-year-old took to the social media site last night to accuse the Russian of being 'scared of a rematch'.

But the account also tweeted out an alleged racial slur saying: "Your wife's a towel mate" alongside an image of her wearing a traditional Islamic face veil.

The post was later deleted after considerable backlash and were branded racist and Islamophobic, as Nurmagomedov is a muslim, the Mirror Online reports.

During the late night tirade, McGregor's account also took aim at the Russian's brother, tweeting: "I smacked your brother around and took a s*** in this hat".

In tweets which have remained, he had a pop at the 30-year-old for what he says is him avoiding another fight.

Conor tweeted: "Don't be scared of the rematch you little scurrying rat.

"You will do what you are told like you always do."

This continues the on-going bad blood between the fighters after Khabib defeated McGregor in Las Vegas last October.

Speaking on Tuesday in his native Moscow, Nurmagomedov said that McGregor “couldn’t reach a deal with the UFC so they fee they’ve lost him and they could lose money”.

He said: "I don’t think he’s finished. Conor acts like a jealous wife who says ‘I will leave’ all the time but then comes back."

McGregor retired from UFC last week but is already set to hold talks with president Dana White about a U-turn.

The former two-weight champion tweeted that he was calling time on his mixed martial arts career but he could be set to return.

White believes McGregor is simply attempting to negotiate a better deal, as he did when he first retired three years ago.

He said: "I think that there’s some things that Conor wants and I think that Conor wants to get together face to face, he and I, and we probably will in the next couple of weeks and we’ll get this thing figured out."

Quite amusing to see Dana White hanging his hat on McGregor making a UFC return after the former champ has talked about retiring and taking up wrestling. It does show that the UFC still has some way to go in being considered a prime time sport, they need their headline acts too badly to prosper, even those guys who have been given a beating.

Is there no talk about the actual champ making a return to the UFC?

Looks like McGregor may get another phainta (beating)!

:))) What a clown this wuss. Couldn't do jack in the ring. All bark.

" I will Smash your Boy"

~Khabib

And smash he did.

Looks like a re-match is on. McGregor loves business and wants more money but needs to be careful. There are a lot of Irish people who are sympathetic to Muslims and their causes which could lead Connor into serious trouble.

Anyone who knows fighting or mma will know Connor never had a chance against Khabib and never will. Khabib is possibly the greatest lightweight the sport has seen. Connor has made himself irrelevant by now

I agree it is all hype, he has been making fun of Khabib's wife now as well. While I respect him as an MMA legend, I will enjoy Khabib beating the hell out of him again; it seems to me Conor doesn't mind selling himself in the Octogon so long the price is right.

Also, I hope Paul Malignaggi smashes that Russian friend of Conor to pieces in the bare knuckle tournament

The scale of the rematch will be so huge I believe it could end up as the most watched combat sports match up in history. People who never watch boxing or MMA will tune it. Khabib, Conner and Dana know this.

The only problem is when you use this type of promotion in MMA it could lead to serious injuries even with a ref. Its unlikely but in the heat of battle and with genuine hate for the opponent a fighter could lose it and strike in a way which could cause serious damage.

Utter scumbag. Being investigated for sexually assaulting a woman in Dublin in early New Year also, and has been filmed recently leaving crackdens in the city.

An absolute lowlife of the highest order. National embarrassment.

Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov tweets unacceptable - UFC

Conor McGregor says he wants to "move forward" after aiming an Islamophobic insult at Khabib Nurmagomedov's wife in a Twitter exchange which has been labelled "unacceptable" by the UFC.

Nurmagomedov has accused the Irish fighter of "insulting an entire religion" over one term he used.

Russia's Nurmagomedov beat McGregor, both 30, at UFC 229 in 2018.

McGregor now says he wants to move on and ended his latest tweet "see you in the Octagon".

The Irishman, who claimed he had retired in March, said: "I want to move forward, with my fans of all faiths and all backgrounds.

"All faiths challenge us to be our best selves. It is one world and one for all. Now see you in the Octagon."

The former two-weight UFC champion has shared a volatile rivalry with Nurmagomedov and both men were suspended and fined when a post-fight brawl marred their UFC 229 contest in October.

Nurmagomedov, a practising Muslim, responded with an accusatory tweet of his own after McGregor insulted his wife with a derogatory term.

McGregor had earlier called the UFC lightweight champion "a little scurrying rat", adding: "Don't be scared of the rematch."

UFC president Dana White says he is "aware" of the social media exchange.

"The ongoing situation has escalated to a level that is unacceptable," added White.

"As such, we are taking the necessary steps to reach out to both athlete camps and this situation is being addressed by all parties internally."

Nurmagomedov's win over McGregor formed part of a UFC 229 card which shattered the organisation's pay-per-view record, amassing 2.4 million buys.

This ain't gonna end well for McGregor. He's completely lost it.

 You have retired Connor. You have money for next 3 generations. Just go to a vacation or something

Dana recently said at an interview that Connor wants a share in the UFC and that once they sit face-to-face they will clear out the misunderstanding. Can’t wait for a rematch because Khabib will literally rag doll Connor again...I’d love to see a Barboza-esque mauling of Connor

McGregor is nuts but man does he know how to get the hype train rolling.

Am I the only one who thinks the irony was lost on Conner after calling Khabib a terrorists etc? Coming from an Irishman, and IRA and all that (no offence to the Irish on here).

Also I would like to see Conner try this alcohol stunt with a Jewish fighter.

Bigging up for a spectacle is one thing, but getting personal is quite another.

Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov will fight Justin Gaethje on 24 October, says UFC president Dana White.

The undefeated Russian fighter, 31, has not been in the octagon since September's defeat of Dustin Poirier.

His father and coach, Abdulmanap, died earlier his month following complications caused by coronavirus.

"It's going to happen, tell you right here right now. That fight is going to happen," White told CNN.

"It's been very rough on him. His father was a hero to him, he loved his father, they had a very close relationship and it was very hard on him."

American Gaethje, 31, beat Tony Ferguson in May, after Ferguson's proposed bout with Nurmagomedov was cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

White, who has been staging events on Abu Dhabi's Yas Island this month, says no venue has been confirmed for the fight.

Conor McGreregor is an idiot.

I can't believe a featherweight/lightweight has such a big mouth.
