This was a fantastic movie with tons of plot twists that kept you guessing till the end. Finally regained some lost faith in Bollywood that there is hope for the industry and that there are good writers, who don’t need a big budget movie to just show a brainless Salman Khan movie to bring audiences in the theater. The amount of twists and turns, unparalleled performances by everyone and the beautiful usage of music throughout is very pleasing to the viewer. The layered writing at no point falls short of logic and it definitely makes you think.

If not inception, I would almost say that this Bollywood movie could actually compete with Malayalam industry’s best thriller movies like Drishyam, Memories and Mumbai Police. The endinng which keeps you guessing with numerous theories on whether the whole thing was a made up story or if the main character was blind to begin with. Here’s the trailer below for anyone that has yet to watch it ..

Drishyam and Memories are just wannabe films albeit successful. Mumbai Police is one of the 5 best malayalam films of this decade largely due to its story and screenplay. The director has tried his maximum to destroy it , but the strength of the story carried it through.

Perhaps you aren't aware of the previous history of OP.

he's the Nostradamus of PP. The legend who predicts the future (and exactly opposite happens).

He's especially famous for his predictions during world cups.

No more then all other Bollywood remakes of Hollywood:misbah3

I heard "no smoking" has a most confusing plot & ending among Bollywood movies.

Wow, now Bollywood is even trying to copy the crap movies coming out of America. Maybe they'll do a better job.

yeah but his charm only works against Pakistan; and this thread is not about Pakistan

Inception: IMDB Rating 8.8/10 by 17,54,856 reviewers.

Won 4 oscars too. Doesn't look like a crap movie to me. :inti

Every opinion is personal of course, I was giving mine, OP was comparing because he thought it was great and he rightly recognises that Hollywood sets the standards by which all other industries need to aspire to.

shows the abysmal standards of the copywood fans that ordinary movies are hyped as great. or maybe they are right..any ordinary movie coming out of bollywood is always a contender to be a great because most of their movies are crap.

TDKR is at 8.4 IIRC and it didn't deserve even 6. Nolan is Hollywood's Beckham, massively overhyped due to unnecessarily convoluted plots and his brother's great writing

Lol that’s just you I think. I doubt most people would rate that as a six, maybe seven at the lowest.

Bollywood doesn't need hollywood that much these days. They are hell bent on remaking goodies from South and spoiling it.

Wrong. They still need Hollywood as a yardstick as it is the most respected and admired film industry in the world. That is why OP compared this film to Inception, not some South indian movie no one has heard of.

Not sure where I measured this movie to Incrption or said Inception is the gold standard of movies and every movie needs to be compared to that ? What I meant was that the ending of this movie was a lot similar to the ending of Inception where’s there’s numerous possibilities and it’s open to interpretation which keeps you guessing.

Quite frankly A movie exactly like Inception would tank in Bollywood since in my opinion the average movie goer that watches Bollywood (not everyone) does not want to be mentally challenged. It might be more of a success if it came out of the Kerala industry since the people over there prefer good content over big buget leave you’re brain at home type movies aka race 3 type movies.

The proof is in the pudding because Andhadhun, even though is a big success and did good business in India, it wasn’t a huge 100 Crites money maker like say a mindless movie like race 3....I’m willing to bet if Andhadhun was remade in Hollywood it would be huge in terms of box office numbers.

Dude. I am talking about films they are making. And we don't want our movies to be spoiled by the northerners. They can keep their hollywood yardstick

Absolutely wrong. French, spain, Italy and germany film industry are respected much more than Hollywood. In Asia, Japan will be the yardstick.

Popularity and admiration are two different aspects.

As has been mentioned Nobody has even heard of your movies except your lot. Malayalam film industry Big LOL. That's like comparing Pyjama Chaap Zimbabwe Premier League to IPL.

The Pakistanis would actually die in laughter if they watch your Fat Sooperstar Mohanlal Dancing. Good they don't about him or else will use it to ridicule Indians rather than Bollywood.

Inception is not that great but any movie that is Inception level is good in my opinion.

It's not like movie industries all over the world are churning out masterpieces that warrants calling a movie like Inception crappy.

On a sidenote, personally I hate movies with open ending these days.

Too much dramaybaazi instead of proper film-making.

Nolan is both brilliant and irritating.

He needs to focus on improving the quality of his films instead of such gimmicks.

Haven't watched his latest film though.

We don't dance since our films are not about breaking into a dance even if it is a funeral

Loved the movie ,saw it in theater felt it was more suited to big screen!

Lolz, at the Inception comparison, it could be compared to a weaker version of Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels or Snatch. I would point out the million plot holes but don't want to spoil it for anyone, it was a weaker Guy Ritchie type circumstantial "comedy" movie at best.

That bug eyed eyesore Radhika Aptor, who seems to be in every movie and series these days didn't help matters either.

The Salman Khan ringer character was somewhat amusing though, not the guy but the character he played. Was funny if intentional.

I didn’t compare Andhadhun to Inception as a one to one comparison in terms of production values, visual effects and such. I meant to compare it in the aspect of the ending of the movie within the last 5 seconds is open to debate where we’re not sure if the protagonist got his eyesight in the end or not. The main protagonist talks about how he is still blind after reciting his whole story to Radhika Aptes character but towards the end he kicks the can that crosses his path with his blind mans stick while walking. So it either means he can see and he lied about the whole thing or through echolocation or something else he happened to sense the can lying on the road and flicked it off with his stick.. There’s numerous theories. Either way the movie is thoroughly enjoyable.

Wth man, I didn't divulge on the ending as I didn't want to give away any spoilers. I guessed the ending half way through unlike The Usual Suspects, Fight Club etc.

As I have mentioned I can point to a million plot holes but I didn't to not spoil it for anyone else.

What you have stated is full of usual common sense spoilers, if you are so easily amused then that's your thing. Don't spoil it for the rest of the viewers and use the spoiler tag.
