These are Indian courts, they have sent ministers, chief ministers to jail. I know the concept of independent judiciary is alien to our neighbours, where everything is viewed with religious glasses.

I never thought I would say this but I wish the subcontinent had been partitioned effectively. A Muslim country, a Hindu country, an independent North East and Dravida Nadu, maybe (depending on referendum) more like Khalistan, Balochistan, tribal country etc. There will never be peace here in current setup. Maybe with 5-6 separate countries we could have enjoyed more internal peace, better external relations and been in an EU like arrangement. Things are going to only get worse with rising population, unemployment, divisions, religious extremism and less resources per capita.

From the India of Gandhi, Nehru, Patel, Ambedkar, Azad, Rajaji to one of Modi, Shah, Yogi, Maharaj, Pragya. What a great fall this democracy has seen. Indians were never like this, BJP and RSS have infected our citizens with hate virus. Even if they are defeated it will take decades to undo the harm. Opposition parties are now so scared of being seen as enemies of Hindus that they are preferring silence when these incidents happen. Hatred will lead us nowhere, I can not believe educated Indian PPers are defending the extremists.

Dont know. But it certainly is hinduism. His mother is a catholic. His father was born to a Parsi father and a brahmin mother. Hinduism is inherited through lineage of ones father.

It's only Brahmins for whom this passing down through son thing applies. And even there, there are examples you see where this has not been followed and fellow Brahmins are fine with it.

The only reason cow slaughter is banned is because cow is revered in the Hindu religion and hence a national government enacting laws based on the beliefs of a certain religion, any religion be it of the majority, is against the very idea of secularism. You need to educate yourself before you act like an expert.

Several individual users have shared this message on Twitter, that Shivu Uppar was hacked to death because he was protecting cows from cow smugglers, in effect giving a communal turn to the incident. The tweet below, posted by a user has been retweeted over 2000 times so far.

The message has also been shared on Facebook by a page Justice For Hindus. The fake news website Dainik Bharat has also published an article stating that Uppar was killed by cow smugglers.


Post-mortem report confirms suicide

The claim that 19 year old Shivu Uppar was murdered by cow smugglers is false. This has been confirmed by Commissioner of Police, Belgaum. In a conversation with Alt News, B S Lokesh Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Belagavi (Belgaum) said, “It is a case of suicide. We have received the post mortem report. It clearly says ‘suicide by hanging”. Moreover there are no injury marks on the body of the deceased, according to the report“. He added, “The deceased had a quarrel with his family. The family members have given a complaint saying the boy committed suicide. Unnecessarily, people are spreading false news for which SP Belgavi has taken action.”

Alt News also spoke to Sudheer Kumar Reddy, SP Belgaum, who confirmed that two persons have been arrested on the charge of spreading fake news that the youth was killed by cow smugglers. The same has been reported by News18.

19 year old Shivu Uppar, according to the post-mortem report, had committed suicide. The BJP MP from Karnataka had earlier indulged in misinformation when the death of a youngster in December 2017 had been falsely portrayed as ‘murder by jihadi elements’.

I know many secular liberals who voted for BJP. But those guys are all Hindus. They were looking for someone who can lead the country to great heights and they saw Modi as the man. What happens when/if a Salman or Shahrukh Khan is attacked like this?. For sure Pak has an abysmal human rights record as well but we are not beating up and lynching non Muslims like minorities are suffering in India. On twitter, facebook etc. you can see thousands of comments by people, who seem pretty educated and well versed in English, defending such acts and saying all sorts of communal things. What do you make of that? Just go to any of such news post on twitter or facebook and then read the comments and you will know what i am talking about. Its as if all the educated psuedo-secular people have come out of closet now that hindutva politics is getting more power in India. If the educated people speak like this, then thats a really scary situation.

Many a times police file cases against the victims themselves and put charges of cow slaugher/smuggling on them. These people might be begging for them not do that.

2 Hindus and 1 Muslims, I just read the news. This piece doesn't tell you about that the 2 of the 3 were Hindus. It is the mob justice mentality of people which is shocking. The laws of land should take care of these rougue elements.

Also people shout of killing publicly rapists and murders, this mentality also needs to stop. Indian people are very immature democracy yet.

It is a law and order problem. Hardly shocking, when the laws of the land don't protect people from cattle thieves and smugglers, just a matter of time when people went rogue and started breaking the very law which was of no use to them.

Agreed. After the Balakot airstrikes from India, we need to take a hardline approach, especially as they support separatist movements in Balochistan, KPK and Afghanistan.

Their Maha rajas were even happy to trade in their daughters to the new rulers to retain some powers (hence many Rajput queens & consorts of mughals) All the muslim rulers of indian arrived with a numerically inferior army but still ended up ruling India for centuries. This is why native Indian kings never conquered or expanded anywhere beyond sub-continent. Infact india itself wasnt a country before Mughals.

Its only 70 years since British left, lets how long can INDIA stay together as a country. Something that didn’t exist before the mughal dynasty.
