Just started watching this and I must admit it's interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes in a T20 franchise tournament.

From the pre auction plans, the auction itself, the team selection, the player's personalities, the owners perspective, the highs and lows during the tournament, the work the backroom staff do, the tough job the coaches have.

Anyone watched it? Thoughts?

Have seen it end to end. I liked it. Was good to see the perspective of coaches and how they have to regroup the team in short span of time as compared to international cricket. I am sure things must be pretty similar for all franchises all over the world. IPL makes it a bit more high stakes because of money involved..
that Ishan Kishan though.. I felt like he was acting out in front of the camera’s..

Don’t blame Ishan, some guys are attention seekers. I have watched PSL vlogs, don’t get me started on Ahmad Shahzad

A few things I have noticed from the footage that is shown:

The owners are a bit too involved in selection and other issues they should keep their nose out of
Rohit Sharma is a lousy skipper
The overseas players seem more hurt by the losses than the local players

I have watched this as well. I enjoyed it. You can tell the owners are really invested in the IPL. Also you can see that the overseas players are desperate to do well. They also take training really seriously as see when Ishan Kishan is messing around, but also Mahela Jayawardene makes the decision to go with Kishan after he impressed in training. I found Shane Bond to be a bit of a weirdo for some reason.

I would like to see another series on another IPL franchise.

Dear me Mahela.

Talk about an uninspiring coach.

When he spoke, most of the players didn't seem to be taking much notice.

I was surprised to see how much foreign players value performance in IPL. I used to think they are here just to collect paycheck. They still do but most cricketers do want to be part of IPL.

I never believed that overseas players aren't dedicated enough. Shane warne, Gilchrist, hussey, kallis played their hearts out similarly warner is looking eager to make a difference.

It's not good enough lol. That's all he kept saying. But I do think the players respect him.

And now to this

MI are the first team to be eliminated from #IPL2022

MI and CSK two of the biggest names and fan following in the IPL are at the bottom.

Their auction strategy has finally backfired. I would also say the motivation, fire to win is low/lacking. Likely because they have won 9 championships between them.
