Raftar Documentary
Main points:
-How Zardari runs Sindh like a fieldom by appointing sardars only on the basis of loyalty and terror
-There was one instance where a small feudal lord made a video of one of Zardari's allies flouting hunting laws. That feudal lord and his brother were taken, one of whom was tortured and beaten to death over 12 hours, beaten so bad not a single bone in his body survived fractures. The family then took it to the media, it spread across the nation till the killer was given personal cover and defence by Zardari and the case finished with the victim's family forced into a compromise.
-A journalist who was murdered by a PPP man. The PPP politician left the country running from law. He was later welcomed and driven around in official provincial transports from the airport to voting so he could vote against Khan in the no confidence vote. A killer.
-Zardari ensures no competition in Sindh against the party, anyone standing against him and doing well is bought off or arrested or worse assasinated. The biggest joke being his daughter being elected with noone willing or able to stand against her in the bye election.
-Numerous judges appointed in Sindh are also Zardari's personal friends. His own barrister was appointed judge with the joke being this judge then regularly particpated in trials involving PPP politicians and who played a vital role later in dismissing cases against PPP men like Memon. The documentary has numerous admissions from Zardari in interviews laughing about this saying he admires and rewards loyalty.
-Omni group scandal, it documents proof, the less said the better.
I was going to post this some days back but had no time. Everything mentioned above is in detail in the documentary with video bragging, documents and so on.
It reminded me of how GOT monarchs ran the kindgom ruthlessly. The documentary ends by wondering and casting doubt if Zardari's feeble son will be able to maintain such terror and control.
