Are you sure. He has not been able to extract bounce out of it partly due to his action. Also not many wrong uns. Also slow through the air. Guilty to far too many full balls and half trackers. For a specialist leggie with such incredible record he should have done a better job than this. Just one ball bounced.

Next test day /nighter with pink ball,.abass and imran khan jr, will be a handful, in swing friendly conditions.
 
Why did Rizwan insist on a review there, terrible decision making.
 
What the hell is wrong with this team? Stupid appeal, absurd review and then this misfield. Shocking.
 
They have 5 overs to use . They can afford to waste. But it was comical to see given the force with which Warner swung at it, any touch would have created a significant deviation.

It is not that the wrong bowlers have been chosen, the country you root for simply lacks available bowlers to compete at this level.

This bowling performance reminds me of your team's hapless ODI bowling against India in the last Asia Cup, where the bowlers averaged over 200 runs for each Indian wicket.

A better organizational structure is needed to nurture and motivate players like Amir, who is definitely a world class talent.
 
Is that a negative line or he is hoping he could bowl one more right hander around the legs. This gives him less chance to get a wicket.

He bowled absolutely terrible. He didn't look threatning at all and released pressure after it had been built. Naseem might have a higher economy but he has troubled the batsmen sometimes and looked to attack. Azhar has captained badly and isn't setting an attacking field for Naseem.

Shaheen has been accurate and has kept on bowling in the right channel. There just hasn't been any movement.

That was a difficult chance, but catches must be taken at this stage.

It is always very difficult to catch off a spinner when the batsman cuts the ball, it flies when that happens.
 
Ok that abbas has been found out but why the hell was imran khan brought back. Abbas has had a couple of bad tests but his overall record suggests he should have been given a good run. Why imran khan out of the blue.
 
I believe Ashok dinda and Vinay Kumar are still available in our domestic. I wouldn't mind if our Pakistani brothers borrowed them. Who knows they might be better than Imran khan atleast. :)

Warner and Smith can make a difference yes but don't think India wouldn't have drawn the series if not won. India was incredible in that test series.

While initially I dismissed the idea that Australia laid a trap which Pakistan fell into, but as the game continues and the more that I see IKS bowl, I find increasing merit in the idea.

If you are talking about test series first time. But they drew a series in 2004/05. india could have won it with a bit more luck. Also in 2007 Bucknor won a test for Australia. otherwise it would have been 1-1 as well.

Since the 90's Australia, for all their world class players, have always been built on solid fundamentals. Good fitness, good running between wickets and good fielding.

It's all the unglamorous stuff that gets ignored or dismissed in Pakistani cricket culture.

India usually atleast manage to put runs on the board and draw a few games and win a game somewhere. They are many levels above us in Australian conditions even if you ignore the series Warner and smith didn't play. This will be our 5th whitewash in a row. Embarrassing stuff, can't even get a draw on these patta wickets.

I think the problem here is Pakistan making rest of the ordinary Australians look like world beaters. I expected better.

True. Even in the days when Pakistan matched Australia for pure talent , there was a world of difference in the out cricket of both teams.

Apart from Smith, Warner will be sitting ducks aganist quality bowling..He isn't an atg but a good batsmen..

Agreed. India cant be discredited for their success in Aus. Just like Pakistan has been better than India in England
 
Professional stuff from Australia. They robotically construct the innings. You can rely on maverick performances in short formats. In Tests you have to be good for a long time not for few moments.
 
Imran Khan has never done anything in Tests that I have seen.
Abbas has better figures and has done some amazing things at his best. At worst he's a Vern Philander type who at least is always in the game because of accuracy and if there is any chance of movement- he'll find it.
The selection seems poor.

Yasir is a tricky one. He has been on the slide but it must be hard to let him go. Is Shadab ready for Test cricket? I've seen Azhar & Younis bowl more likely legspin than Yasir right now. Usually one wicket gets Yasir into the game & tail up.

Is there other leggies in Pakistan? A good left armer?

Naseem has looked ok but can't be carrying the attack.
 
Such defensive mindset. New ball gives scoring opportunities whereas with the old ball atleast it will be harder to score. We know whose mindset that is :misbah
