David Warner 151* as Australia pile on 312/1 at Stumps on Day 2 against Pakistan at the Gabba

Exactly. Abbas from one end keeping it tight from one end would form a beautifully symbiotic partnership with someone like Naseem who could be given the licence to knock heads off and push them onto the back foot

Wickets aren't falling because the batsmen know they can play Naseem and Shaheen out, and then feast on Imran. When pressure is constantly released from one end, it's very difficult to force anything to happen.

I won’t fault him. Playing at international level is very different from playing domestic. And it’s not his fault that even his fellow fast bowlers are totally inexperienced.

It’s just poor selection overall. And you know who to blame for that. You can’t go with such an inexperienced pace attack to Australia.

Of course you can't blame him. He didn't ask to be selected. The selector is to be blamed. If he isn't up for international cricket then he shouldn't have been picked.

Shaheen and Naseem are good selections and have bowled well so far.

Things that everyone except Misbah knew before this test series:
- Imran khan is unfit trash
- Yasir shah Is poor away from Asia

This is very quiet team commies saying about body language of team Pakistan

Cant understand why imran does not go around the wicket to warner?!!

Because he bowls wide off the crease, which is why he is generating pace. Which is useless because angle of delivery makes him very easy to read

As much as you crib about bowling, this is a professional test batting performance by Australia. very rarely gave any chance. Didn't chase the balls unnecessarily.

Pakistan have accepted the defeat by giving a ball to ifti chachu who is worse off spinner . when is next test ?

This mauling is so much fun to watch...should shut up jingoistic fan overhyping average players..

Both openers should have been out with the score under 5.
This is what happens when you dont take your chances against top teams!

Next time will be another humiliation.

Don't want to see pak tour Auz again for at least 10 years

We shouldn't be touring here.

Can we please add:

At The Gabba tall fast bowlers like Hazlewood can exert incredible control when the ball goes soft.

Pakistan needed Sameen Gul and Ehsan Adil for this match, even if they never play anywhere else (except for Johannesburg and Centurion).

Just switched on the game. Not surprising at all. Naseem is bowling nice. Still 144kph.

So 1st wicket?

Australian batters are just too good. That's all that explains it for me because our bowling has actually been pretty decent.

Naseem’s age mystery has been solved. He is 19, but the pace is very impressive for his age nonetheless.

As I keep telling everyone (and I live an hour from this ground):

Bowling at the Gabba is all about tall fast bowlers. Noone else can exert control over the scoring rate.

Pakistan have bowled 4 maiden overs in 47 overs. And Shaheen Shah has bowled half of them.

No. That's not true at all. You have to bang that good length and line in he first session with the kookaburra and Pakistan were not nearly consistent enough. Way off the mark. Too many excuses for the bowling attack.

Naseem and Shaheen should be bowling in tandem. They have both bowled well and will create pressure together, which may create a wicket.

Come on Ifti, can't keep bowling long hops on Burns' pads.

Where did you find?

Ex-stars impressed by zealous aspirants at KSF program

KARACHI: A quartet of former international cricket stars were extremely pleased with the talent that showed up at Karachi Sports Foundation’s (KSF) ‘Kriket Superstars’, a coaching-based TV reality programme.

Expressing their thoughts in an exclusive discussion with Dawn late on Wednesday night, they pointed out the hospitality offered to them had been ‘exceptional’ and they were delighted to be in Pakistan for a cause that needed to be highlighted to the outside world.

For Andy Roberts, the legendary West Indies fast bowler of the 1970s and 80s, the time he spent in Pakistan for the show was “most memorable and enjoyable”.

“I must say that I very much liked a young fast bowler by the name of Nasim. He is just 16-year-old. I am sorry that I did not have at least two, three weeks’ time to work with him,”

“This fellow is very aggressive, he has real pace and he is so young. Once he has the passion and he maintains it, he will reach well. He is a very good prospect,” he said.

good bouncer. That's a real short ball.

Now compare that to Imran Khan Sr lollipop bouncers.

Not really actually. Afridi has bowled a very good line and length, so has Shah. The batsmen just haven't given any chances.

Time to get Naseem to bowl some short stuff. It may work, or he will go for runs. It's worth a try. Naseem has troubled the Aussies with his short bowling.

Pakistan missing 4th pacer.

One of the pacers is going to get injured pretty soon.

There was no logic in playing Yasir when Australia has been a graveyard for spinners.

World class batsmen don't give you chances but world class bowlers and captains create chances.

Sparingly. Burns hasn't looked entirely comfortable when Naseem has bounced him so disappointed that they haven't given him more short stuff
What are they doing now. Don't they have any plans? Like you don't get wicket in the 1st session fine. But you keep trying diff. Things you have plan B and C. Like Australia trapped Shan in the 2nd session

No way is Naseem Shah 16, he looks more like 19 to me.

Ha..truth eventually prevails no matter what anyone says. Shoaib Akhtar had already told this on game on hai

Captain has to think out of the box now. The usual stuff isn't working. Maybe a short leg, some men on the boundary and bowl short.

Australia has a proper think tank. We have Misbah and Dehati Waqar whose own bowling record in Australia is not much to speak off

I think umpires should permit Pak bowlers to use sandpaper, I don't see any other way they are picking up wickets today, what phainta man!!

Don't worry, they're only bowling once. Australia is gonna put up 600 and bowl them out for 300.

When I switched on in the first session earlier, the pitch of balls were untidy to say the least. I think you should watch the first session again.
